Job 27
1 Et Job continuant reprit son discours sentencieux, et dit:
And Job again took up the word and said,
2 Le [Dieu] Fort, qui a mis mon droit à l'écart, et le Tout-puissant qui a rempli mon âme d'amertume, est vivant,
By the life of God, who has taken away my right; and of the Ruler of all, who has made my soul bitter;
3 Que tout le temps qu'il y aura du souffle en moi, et que l'Esprit de Dieu sera dans mes narines,
(For all my breath is still in me, and the spirit of God is my life; )
4 Mes lèvres ne prononceront rien d'injuste, et ma langue ne dira point de chose fausse.
Truly, there is no deceit in my lips, and my tongue does not say what is false.
5 A Dieu ne plaise que je vous reconnaisse pour justes! tant que je vivrai je n'abandonnerai point mon intégrité.
Let it be far from me! I will certainly not say that you are right! I will come to death before I give up my righteousness.
6 J'ai conservé ma justice, et je ne l'abandonnerai point; et mon cœur ne me reprochera rien en mes jours.
I will keep it safe, and will not let it go: my heart has nothing to say against any part of my life.
7 Qu'il en soit de mon ennemi comme du méchant; et de celui qui se lève contre moi, comme de l'injuste!
Let my hater be like the evil man, and let him who comes against me be as the sinner.
8 Car quelle sera l'attente de l'hypocrite, lorsque Dieu lui arrachera son âme, s'il s'est adonné à commettre des extorsions?
For what is the hope of the sinner when he is cut off, when God takes back his soul?
9 Le [Dieu] Fort entendra-t-il ses cris, quand la calamité viendra sur lui?
Will his cry come to the ears of God when he is in trouble?
10 Trouvera-t-il son plaisir dans le Tout-puissant? Invoquera-t-il Dieu en tout temps?
Will he take delight in the Ruler of all, and make his prayer to God at all times?
11 Je vous enseignerai les œuvres du [Dieu] Fort, et je ne vous cacherai point ce qui [est] par-devers le Tout-puissant.
I will give you teaching about the hand of God; I will not keep secret from you what is in the mind of the Ruler of all.
12 Voilà, vous avez tous vu [ces choses], et comment vous laissez-vous [ainsi] aller à des pensées vaines?
Truly, you have all seen it yourselves; why then have you become completely foolish?
13 Ce sera ici la portion de l'homme méchant, que le [Dieu] Fort lui réserve, et l'héritage que les violents reçoivent du Tout-puissant;
This is the punishment of the evil-doer from God, and the heritage given to the cruel by the Ruler of all.
14 Si ses enfants sont multipliés, ce sera pour l'épée; et sa postérité n'aura pas même assez de pain.
If his children are increased, it is for the sword; and his offspring have not enough bread.
15 Ceux qui resteront seront bien ensevelis après leur mort, mais leurs veuves ne les pleureront point.
When those of his house who are still living come to their end by disease, they are not put into the earth, and their widows are not weeping for them.
16 Quand il entasserait l'argent comme la poussière, et qu'il entasserait des habits comme on amasse de la boue,
Though he may get silver together like dust, and make ready great stores of clothing;
17 Il les entassera, mais le juste s'en vêtira, et l'innocent partagera l'argent.
He may get them ready, but the upright will put them on, and he who is free from sin will take the silver for a heritage.
18 Il s'est bâti une maison comme la teigne, et comme le gardien des vignes bâtit sa cabane.
His house has no more strength than a spider's thread, or a watchman's tent.
19 Le riche tombera, et il ne sera point relevé; il ouvrira ses yeux, et il ne trouvera rien.
He goes to rest full of wealth, but does so for the last time: on opening his eyes, he sees it there no longer.
20 Les frayeurs l'atteindront comme des eaux; le tourbillon l'enlèvera de nuit.
Fears overtake him like rushing waters; in the night the storm-wind takes him away.
21 Le vent d'Orient l'emportera, et il s'en ira; il l'enlèvera, dis-je, de sa place comme un tourbillon.
The east wind takes him up and he is gone; he is forced violently out of his place.
22 Le Tout-puissant se jettera sur lui, et ne l'épargnera point; [et étant poursuivi] par sa main, il ne cessera de fuir.
God sends his arrows against him without mercy; he goes in flight before his hand.
23 On battra des mains contre lui, et on sifflera contre lui du lieu qu'il occupait.
Men make signs of joy because of him, driving him from his place with sounds of hissing.
