Job 19
1 Mais Job répondit, et dit:
Then Job answered and said,
2 Jusqu'à quand affligerez-vous mon âme, et m'accablerez-vous de paroles?
How long will all of you vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
3 Vous avez déjà par dix fois [tâché] de me couvrir de confusion. N'avez-vous point honte de vous roidir ainsi contre moi?
These ten times have all of you reproached me: all of you are not ashamed that all of you make yourselves strange to me.
4 Mais quand il serait vrai que j'aurais péché, la faute serait pour moi.
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remains with myself.
5 Mais si absolument vous voulez parler avec hauteur contre moi, et me reprocher mon opprobre;
If indeed all of you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
6 Sachez donc que c'est Dieu qui m'a renversé, et qui a tendu son filet autour de moi.
Know now that God has overthrown me, and has compassed me with his net.
7 Voici je crie pour la violence qui m'est faite, et je ne suis point exaucé; je m'écrie, et il n'y a point de jugement.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
8 Il a fermé son chemin, tellement que je ne saurais passer; et il a mis les ténèbres sur mes sentiers.
He has fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness in my paths.
9 Il m'a dépouillé de ma gloire, il m'a ôté la couronne de dessus la tête.
He has stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 Il m'a détruit de tous côtés, et je m'en vais; il a fait disparaître mon espérance comme celle d'un arbre [que l'on arrache].
He has destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope has he removed like a tree.
11 Il s'est enflammé de colère contre moi, et m'a traité comme un de ses ennemis.
He has also kindled his wrath against me, and he counts me unto him as one of his enemies.
12 Ses troupes sont venues ensemble, et elles ont dressé leur chemin contre moi, et se sont campées autour de ma tente.
His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and camp round about my tabernacle.
13 Il a fait retirer loin de moi mes frères; et ceux qui me connaissaient se sont fort éloignés de moi.
He has put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily cut off from me.
14 Mes proches m'ont abandonné, et ceux que je connaissais m'ont oublié.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
15 Ceux qui demeuraient dans ma maison et mes servantes, m'ont tenu pour un inconnu, [et] m'ont réputé comme étranger.
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an foreigner in their sight.
16 J'ai appelé mon serviteur, mais il ne m'a point répondu, quoique je l'aie supplié de ma propre bouche.
I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I implored him with my mouth.
17 Mon haleine est devenue odieuse à ma femme; quoique je la supplie par les enfants de mon ventre.
My breath is strange to my wife, though I implored for the children's sake of mine own body.
18 Même les petits me méprisent, et si je me lève ils parlent contre moi.
Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spoke against me.
19 Tous ceux à qui je déclarais mes secrets, m'ont en abomination; et tous ceux que j'aimais se sont tournés contre moi.
All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
20 Mes os sont attachés à ma peau et à ma chair, et il ne me reste d'entier que la peau de mes dents.
My bone cleaves to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
21 Ayez pitié de moi, ayez pitié de moi, vous mes amis; car la main de Dieu m'a frappé.
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O all of you my friends; for the hand of God has touched me.
22 Pourquoi me poursuivez-vous comme le [Dieu] Fort [me poursuit], sans pouvoir vous rassasier de ma chair?
Why do all of you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 Plût à Dieu que maintenant mes discours fussent écrits! Plût à Dieu qu'ils fussent gravés dans un livre;
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
24 Avec une touche de fer, et sur du plomb, [et] qu'ils fussent taillés sur une pierre de roche à perpétuité!
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
25 Car je sais que mon Rédempteur est vivant, et qu'il demeurera le dernier sur la terre.
For I know that my redeemer lives, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26 Et lorsqu'après ma peau ceci aura été rongé, je verrai Dieu de ma chair,
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 Je le verrai moi-même, et mes yeux le verront, et non un autre. Mes reins se consument dans mon sein.
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
28 Vous devriez plutôt dire: Pourquoi le persécutons-nous? puisque le fondement de mes paroles se trouve en moi.
But all of you should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
29 Ayez peur de l'épée; car la fureur [avec laquelle vous me persécutez], est [du nombre] des iniquités qui attirent l'épée; c'est pourquoi sachez qu'il y a un jugement.
Be all of you afraid of the sword: for wrath brings the punishments of the sword, that all of you may know there is a judgment.
