Jérémie 41
1 Or il arriva au septième mois qu'Ismaël fils de Néthania, fils d'Elisamah, de la race royale, et l'un des principaux de chez le Roi, et dix hommes avec lui, vinrent vers Guédalia fils d'Ahikam à Mitspa, et mangèrent là du pain ensemble à Mitspa.
And it was don in the seuenthe monethe, Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, sone of Elisama, of the kingis seed, and the principal men of the kyng, and ten men with hym, camen to Godolie, the sone of Aicham, in Masphath; and thei eeten there looues togidere in Masphath.
2 Mais Ismaël fils de Néthania se leva, et les dix hommes qui étaient avec lui, et ils frappèrent avec l'épée Guédalia fils d'Ahikam, fils de Saphan, et on le fit mourir, lui que le Roi de Babylone avait commis sur le pays.
Forsothe Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, and the ten men that weren with hym, risiden vp, and killiden bi swerd Godolie, the sone of Aicham, sone of Saphan; and thei killiden hym, whom the kyng of Babiloyne hadde maad souereyn of the lond.
3 Ismaël frappa aussi tous les Juifs qui étaient avec lui, [c'est-à-dire], avec Guédalia à Mitspa, et les Caldéens, gens de guerre, qui furent trouvés là.
Also Ismael killide alle the Jewis, that weren with Godolie in Masphath, and the Caldeis, that weren foundun there, and the men werriours.
4 Et il arriva que le jour après qu'on eut fait mourir Guédalia, avant que personne le sût,
Forsothe in the secounde dai, aftir that he hadde slayn Godolie, while no man wiste yit,
5 Quelques hommes de Sichem, de Silo, et de Samarie; en tout quatre-vingts hommes, ayant la barbe rasée, les vêtements déchirés, et s'étant fait des incisions, vinrent avec des dons et de l'encens dans leurs mains pour les apporter en la maison de l'Eternel.
foure scoor men with schauen beerdis, and to-rent clothis, and pale men, camen fro Sichem, and fro Silo, and fro Samarie; and thei hadden yiftis and encense in the hond, for to offre in the hous of the Lord.
6 Alors Ismaël fils de Néthania sortit de Mitspa au devant d'eux, et il marchait en pleurant, et quand il les eut rencontrés, il leur dit: venez vers Guédalia fils d'Ahikam.
Therfor Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, yede out of Masphath in to the metyng of hem; and he yede goynge and wepynge. Sotheli whanne he hadde met hem, he seide to hem, Come ye to Godolie, the sone of Aicham;
7 Mais sitôt qu'ils furent venus au milieu de la ville, Ismaël fils de Néthania, accompagné des hommes qui étaient avec lui, les égorgea, [et les jeta] dans une fosse.
and whanne thei weren comun to the myddis of the citee, Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, killide hem aboute the myddis of the lake, he and the men that weren with hym `killiden hem.
8 Mais il se trouva dix hommes entre eux qui dirent à Ismaël: ne nous fais point mourir, car nous avons dans les champs des amas secrets de froment, d'orge, d'huile, et de miel; et il les laissa, et ne les fit point mourir avec leurs frères.
But ten men weren foundun among hem, that seiden to Ismael, Nyle thou sle vs, for we han tresour of wheete, and of barli, and of oile, and of hony, in the feeld. And he ceesside, and killide not hem with her britheren.
9 Et la fosse dans laquelle Ismaël jeta les corps morts des hommes qu'il tua à l'occasion de Guédalia est celle que le Roi Asa avait fait faire lorsqu'il eut peur de Bahasa Roi d'Israël; et Ismaël fils de Néthania la remplit de gens tués.
Forsothe the lake in to which Ismael castide forth alle the careyns of men, whiche he killide for Godolie, is thilke lake, which kyng Asa made for Baasa, the kyng of Israel; Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, fillide that lake with slayn men.
10 Et Ismaël emmena prisonniers tous ceux du peuple qui étaient demeurés de reste à Mitspa, [savoir] les filles du Roi, et tout le peuple qui était demeuré de reste à Mitspa, que Nébuzar-adan prévôt de l'hôtel avait commis à Guédalia fils d'Ahikam; Ismaël, dis-je, fils de Néthania, les emmenait prisonniers, et s'en allait pour passer vers les enfants de Hammon.
And Ismael ledde prisoneris alle the remenauntis of the puple, that weren in Mesphath, the douytris of the kyng, and al the puple that dwelliden in Masphath, whiche Nabusardan, the prince of chyualrie, hadde bitakun to kepyng to Godolie, the sone of Aicham. And Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, took hem, and yede to passe ouer to the sones of Amon.
11 Mais Johanan fils de Karéah, et tous les Capitaines des gens de guerre qui étaient avec lui, ayant entendu tout le mal qu'Ismaël fils de Néthania avait fait;
Forsothe Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of werriouris, that weren with hym, herden al the yuel, which Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, hadde do.
12 Et ayant pris tous leurs gens ils s'en allèrent pour combattre contre Ismaël fils de Néthania, lequel ils rencontrèrent près des grosses eaux qui sont à Gabaon.
And whanne thei hadden take alle men, thei yeden forth to fiyte ayens Ismael, the sone of Nathanye; and thei foundun hym at the many watris, that ben in Gabaon.
13 Et il arriva qu'aussitôt que tout le peuple qui était avec Ismaël eut vu Johanan fils de Karéah, et tous les Capitaines des gens de guerre qui [étaient] avec lui, ils s'en réjouirent.
And whanne al the puple, that was with Ismael, hadden seyn Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of werriouris, that weren with hym, thei weren glad.
14 Et tout le peuple qu'Ismaël emmenait prisonnier de Mitspa tourna visage, et se retournant ils s'en allèrent vers Johanan fils de Karéah.
And al the puple, whom Ismael hadde take in Masphath, turnede ayen; and it turnede ayen, and yede to Johannan, the sone of Caree.
15 Mais Ismaël fils de Néthania échappa avec huit hommes de devant Johanan, et s'en alla vers les enfants de Hammon.
Forsothe Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, fledde with eiyte men fro the face of Johannan, and yede to the sones of Amon.
16 Et Johanan fils de Karéah, et tous les Capitaines des gens de guerre qui étaient avec lui prirent tout le reste du peuple qu'ils avaient retiré des mains d'Ismaël fils de Néthania, [qu'il emmenait prisonnier] de Mitspa, après qu'il eut frappé Guédalia fils d'Ahikam, [savoir] les vaillants hommes de guerre, et les femmes, et les enfants, et les Eunuques; et les ramenèrent de Gabaon.
Therfor Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of werriours, that weren with hym, token alle the remenauntis of the comyn puple, whiche thei brouyten ayen fro Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, that weren of Masphat, aftir that he killide Godolie, the sone of Aicham; he took strong men to batel, and wymmen, and children, and geldyngis, whiche he hadde brouyt ayen fro Gabaon.
17 Et ils s'en allèrent et demeurèrent à Guéruth-kimham, auprès de Bethléhem, pour s'en aller et se retirer en Egypte,
And thei yeden, and saten beynge pilgryms in Canaan, which is bisidis Bethleem, that thei schulden go, and entre in to Egipt fro the face of Caldeis;
18 A cause des Caldéens; car ils avaient peur d'eux, parce qu'Ismaël fils de Néthania avait tué Guédalia fils d'Ahikam, qui avait été commis sur le pays par le Roi de Babylone.
for thei dredden thilke Caldeis, for Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, hadde slayn Godolie, the sone of Aicham, whom the kyng Nabugodonosor hadde maad souereyn in the lond of Juda.
