Jérémie 10
1 Maison d'Israël, écoutez la parole que l'Eternel a prononcée sur vous.
Hear the word which he has spoken Yahweh to you O house of Israel.
2 Ainsi a dit l'Eternel: n'apprenez point les façons de faire des nations, et ne soyez point épouvantés des signes des cieux, sous ombre que les nations en sont épouvantées.
Thus - he says Yahweh [the] way of the nations may not you learn and from [the] signs of the heavens may not you be dismayed for they are dismayed the nations from them.
3 Car les statuts des peuples [ne] sont [que] vanité, parce qu'on coupe du bois de la forêt pour le mettre en œuvre avec la hache;
For [the] customs of the peoples [is] futility it for a tree from a forest someone has cut down it [the] work of [the] hands of a craftsman with tool.
4 Puis on l'embellit avec de l'argent et de l'or, et on le fait tenir avec des clous et à coups de marteau, afin qu'il ne remue point.
With silver and with gold he beautifies it with nails and with hammers they make strong them and not it will wobble.
5 Ils sont façonnés tout droits comme un palmier, et ils ne parlent point; on les porte par nécessité, à cause qu'ils ne peuvent pas marcher; ne les craignez point, car ils ne font point de mal, et aussi il n'est pas en leur pouvoir de faire du bien.
[are] like A scarecrow of a cucumber field they and not they speak certainly they are carried for not they walk may not you be afraid from them for not they do harm and also [is] doing good there not with them.
6 Il n'y a point de [dieu] semblable à toi, ô Eternel! tu es grand, et ton Nom est grand en force.
From there not [is] like you O Yahweh [are] great you and [is] great name your in strength.
7 Qui ne te craindrait, Roi des nations, car cela t'est dû? parce qu'entre tous les plus sages des nations, et dans tous leurs Royaumes il n'y en a point de semblable à toi.
Who? not will he fear you O king of the nations for for you it is befitting that among all [the] wise [people] of the nations and among all kingdom their from there not [is] like you.
8 Et ils sont tous ensemble abrutis, et devenus fous; le bois [ne leur] apprend que des vanités.
And in one they are stupid and they may be foolish [the] correction of futilities [is] wood it.
9 L'argent qui est étendu en plaques, est apporté de Tarsis, et l'or est apporté d'Uphaz, pour être mis en œuvre par l'ouvrier, et par les mains du fondeur; et la pourpre et l'écarlate est leur vêtement; toutes ces choses sont l'ouvrage de gens adroits.
Silver beaten from Tarshish it is brought and gold from Uphaz [the] work of a craftsman and [the] hands of a metalsmith [is] violet stuff and purple clothing their [are the] work of skillful [people] all of them.
10 Mais l'Eternel est le Dieu de vérité, [c'est] le Dieu vivant, et le Roi éternel; la terre sera ébranlée par sa colère, et les nations ne pourront soutenir son indignation.
And Yahweh [is] God truth he [is] God living and king of perpetuity from wrath his it shakes the earth and not they will endure nations indignation his.
11 Vous leur direz ainsi: les dieux qui n'ont point fait les cieux et la terre périront de la terre, et de dessous les cieux.
Like this you will say to them gods the who heavens the and earth the not they made may they perish from earth the and from under heavens the these.
12 [Mais l'Eternel] est celui qui a fait la terre par sa vertu, qui a formé le monde habitable par sa sagesse, et qui a étendu les cieux par son intelligence;
[he] made [the] earth By power his [he] established [the] world by wisdom his and by understanding his he stretched out [the] heavens.
13 Sitôt qu'il a fait éclater sa voix [il y a] un grand bruit d'eaux dans les cieux; après qu'il a fait monter du bout de la terre les vapeurs, il fait briller l'éclair avant la pluie, et il tire le vent hors de ses trésors.
To [the] sound of giving forth he a tumult of waters in the heavens and he made come up clouds from [the] end of (the earth *Q(K)*) lightning for the rain he makes and he brought out [the] wind from storehouses his.
14 Tout homme se montre abruti dans sa science; tout fondeur est rendu honteux par les images taillées; car ce qu'ils font est une fausseté, et il n'y a point de respiration en elles.
He is stupid every person from knowledge he has been put to shame every metalsmith from [the] idol for [is] deception molten image his and not breath [is] in them.
15 Elles ne sont que vanité, et un ouvrage propre à abuser; elles périront au temps de leur visitation.
[are] futility They a work of mockery at [the] time of punishment their they will perish.
16 La portion de Jacob n'est point comme ces choses-là; car c'est celui qui a tout formé, et Israël est le lot de son héritage; son nom est l'Eternel des armées.
Not [is] like these [the] portion of Jacob for [is [the] one who] formed everything he and Israel [is] [the] tribe of inheritance his [is] Yahweh of hosts name his.
17 Toi qui habites en un lieu fort, retire du pays ta marchandise.
Gather up from [the] ground bundle your (O [you who] dwell *Q(K)*) in the siege.
18 Car ainsi a dit l'Eternel: voici, je m'en vais à cette fois jeter [au loin, comme] avec une fronde, les habitants du pays, et je les mettrai à l'étroit, tellement qu'ils le trouveront.
For thus he says Yahweh here I [am] about to hurl forth [the] inhabitants of the land at the time this and I will cause distress to them so that they may find.
19 Malheur à moi, [diront-ils], à cause de ma plaie, ma plaie est douloureuse. Mais moi j'ai dit: quoi qu'il en soit, c'est une maladie qu'il faut que je souffre.
Woe! to me on fracture my [is] severe wound my and I I said surely this [is] a sickness and I will endure it.
20 Ma tente est gâtée; tous mes cordages sont rompus; mes enfants sont sortis d'auprès de moi, et ne sont plus; il n'y a plus personne qui dresse ma tente, et qui élève mes pavillons.
Tent my it has been devastated and all tent cords my they have been snapped children my they have gone out from me and there not [are] they there not [is one who] pitches again tent my and [one who] raises tent curtains my.
21 Car les pasteurs sont abrutis, et n'ont point recherché l'Eternel; c'est pourquoi ils ne se sont point conduits sagement, et tous leurs pâturages ont été dissipés.
For they have behaved stupidly the shepherds and Yahweh not they have sought there-fore not they have prospered and all flock their it has been scattered.
22 Voici, un bruit de certaines nouvelles est venu, avec une grande émotion de devers le pays d'Aquilon, pour ravager les villes de Juda, et en faire une retraite de dragons.
[the] sound of A report there! [it is] coming and a din great from a land of [the] north to make [the] cities of Judah a desolation a habitation of jackals.
23 Eternel, je connais que la voie de l'homme ne dépend pas de lui, et qu'il n'est pas au pouvoir de l'homme qui marche, de diriger ses pas.
I know O Yahweh that not [belongs] to person way his not [belongs] to a person [who] walks to direct step[s] his.
24 Ô Eternel! châtie-moi, mais [que ce soit] par mesure, [et] non en ta colère, de peur que tu ne me réduises à rien.
Correct me O Yahweh only in justice may not [it be] in anger your lest you should diminish me.
25 Répands ta fureur sur les nations qui ne te connaissent point, et sur les familles qui n'invoquent point ton Nom; car ils ont dévoré Jacob, ils l'ont, dis-je, dévoré et consumé, et ils ont mis en désolation son agréable demeure.
Pour out rage your on the nations which not they have known you and on clans which on name your not they have called for they have consumed Jacob and they have consumed him and they have made an end of him and habitation his they have devastated.
