Isaïe 45
1 Ainsi a dit l'Eternel à son Oint, à Cyrus, duquel j'ai pris la main droite, afin que je terrasse les nations devant lui, et que je délie les reins des Rois; afin qu'on ouvre devant lui les portes, et que les portes ne soient point fermées.
This is what Yahweh says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I hold, in order to subdue nations before him, to disarm kings, and to open the doors before him, so that gates remain open:
2 J'irai devant toi, et je dresserai les chemins tortus; je romprai les portes d'airain, et je mettrai en pièces les barres de fer.
“I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut in pieces their iron bars,
3 Et je te donnerai les trésors cachés, et les richesses le plus secrètement gardées, afin que tu saches que je suis l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui t'appelle par ton Nom;
and I will give you the treasures of darkness and riches hidden away, that you may know that it is I, Yahweh, who call you by your name, I, the God of Israel.
4 Pour l'amour de Jacob mon serviteur, et d'Israël mon élu; je t'ai, dis-je, appelé par ton nom, et je t'ai surnommé, bien que tu ne me connusses point.
For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel my chosen, I have called you by your name, giving you a title of honor, though you have not known me.
5 Je suis l'Eternel, et il n'y en a point d'autre; il n'y a point de Dieu que moi. Je t'ai ceint, quoique tu ne me connusses point.
I am Yahweh, and there is no other; there is no God but me. I will arm you for battle, though you have not known me;
6 Afin qu'on connaisse depuis le soleil levant, et depuis le soleil couchant, qu'il n'y a point d'autre [Dieu] que moi. Je suis l'Eternel, et il n'y en a point d'autre:
that people may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is no god but me: I am Yahweh, and there is no other.
7 Qui forme la lumière, et qui crée les ténèbres; qui fais la paix, et qui crée l'adversité; c'est moi l'Eternel qui fais toutes ces choses.
I form the light and create darkness; I bring peace and create disaster; I am Yahweh, who does all these things.
8 O cieux! envoyez la rosée d'en haut, et que les nuées fassent distiller la justice; que la terre s'ouvre, qu'elle produise le salut, et que la justice germe ensemble! moi l'Eternel j'ai créé cela.
You heavens, rain down from above! Let the skies rain down righteousness. Let the earth absorb it, that salvation may sprout up, and righteousness spring up together with it. I, Yahweh, have created them both.
9 Malheur à celui qui plaide contre celui qui l'a formé. Que le pot plaide contre les autres pots de terre; [mais] l'argile dira-t-elle à celui qui l'a formée; que fais-tu? et tu n'as point d'adresse pour ton ouvrage.
Woe to anyone who argues with the one who formed him, to him who is like any other earthen pot among all the earthen pots in the ground! Does the clay say to the potter, 'What are you making?' or 'Your work has no handles on it'?
10 Malheur à celui qui dit à son père; pourquoi engendres-tu? et à sa mère; pourquoi enfantes-tu?
Woe to him who says to a father, 'What are you fathering?' or to a woman, 'What are you giving birth to?'
11 Ainsi a dit l'Eternel, le Saint d'Israël, qui est son Créateur; ils m'ont interrogé touchant les choses à venir; et me donneriez-vous la Loi touchant mes fils, et touchant l'œuvre de mes mains?
This is what Yahweh says, the Holy One of Israel, his Maker: 'Why do you ask questions about what I will do for my children? Do you tell me what to do concerning the work of my hands?'
12 C'est moi qui ai fait la terre, et qui ai créé l'homme sur elle; c'est moi qui ai étendu les cieux de mes mains, et qui ai donné la loi à toute leur armée.
'I made the earth and created man on it. It was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all the stars to appear.
13 C'est moi qui ai suscité celui-ci en justice, et j'adresserai tous ses desseins, il rebâtira ma ville, et renverra sans rançon et sans présents mon peuple qui aura été transporté, a dit l'Eternel des armées.
I stirred Cyrus up in righteousness, and I will smooth out all his paths. He will build my city; he will let my exiled people go home, and not for price nor bribe,'” says Yahweh of hosts.
14 Ainsi a dit l'Eternel; le travail de l'Egypte, et le trafic de Chus, et les Sabéens, gens de grande stature, passeront vers toi, [Jérusalem], et ils seront à toi, ils marcheront après toi, ils passeront enchaînés, et se prosterneront devant toi, ils te feront leurs supplications, [et te diront]; certes le [Dieu] Fort est au milieu de toi, et il n'y a point d'autre Dieu que lui.
This is what Yahweh says, “The earnings of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush with the Sabeans, men of tall stature, will be brought to you. They will be yours. They will follow after you, coming in chains. They will bow down to you and plead with you saying, 'Surely God is with you, and there is no other except him.'”
15 Certainement tu es le [Dieu] Fort qui te caches, le Dieu d'Israël, le Sauveur.
Truly you are a God who hides yourself, God of Israel, Savior.
16 Eux tous ont été honteux et confus; les ouvriers d'images s'en sont allés ensemble avec honte.
They will all be ashamed and disgraced together; those who carve idols will walk in humiliation.
17 [Mais] Israël a été sauvé par l'Eternel, d'un salut éternel; vous ne serez point honteux, et vous ne serez point confus à jamais.
But Israel will be saved by Yahweh with an everlasting salvation; you will never again be ashamed or humiliated.
18 Car ainsi a dit l'Eternel qui a créé les cieux, lui qui est le Dieu qui a formé la terre, et qui l'a faite, lui qui l'a affermie; il ne l'a point créée pour être une chose vide, [mais] il l'a formée pour être habitée. Je suis l'Eternel, et il n'y en a point d'autre.
This is what Yahweh says, who created the heavens, the true God who created the earth and made it, who established it. He created it, not as a waste, but designed it to be inhabited: “I am Yahweh, and there is no other.
19 Je n'ai point parlé en secret, ni en quelque lieu ténébreux de la terre; je n'ai point dit à la postérité de Jacob; cherchez-moi en vain. Je suis l'Eternel, proférant la justice, déclarant les choses droites.
I have not spoken in private, in some hidden place; I did not say to Jacob's descendants, 'Seek me in vain!' I am Yahweh, who speaks sincerely; I declare the things that are right.
20 Assemblez-vous, et venez, approchez-vous ensemble, vous les réchappés d'entre les nations. Ceux qui portent le bois de leur image taillée ne savent rien, ni ceux qui font requête à un Dieu qui ne délivre point.
Assemble yourselves and come! Gather together, you refugees from among the nations! They have no knowledge, those who carry carved images and pray to gods that cannot save.
21 Déclarez, et faites approcher, et même qu'on consulte ensemble; qui est-ce qui a fait entendre une telle chose dès longtemps auparavant? qui l'a déclarée dès lors? n'est-ce pas moi l'Eternel? or il n'y a point d'autre Dieu que moi; il n'y a point de [Dieu] Fort, Juste et Sauveur, que moi.
Come close and declare it to me, bring the evidence! Let them conspire together. Who has shown this from long ago? Who announced it? Was it not I, Yahweh? There is no God except me, a just God and a Savior; there is no one besides me.
22 Vous tous les bouts de la terre, regardez vers moi, et soyez sauvés; car je suis le [Dieu] Fort, et il n'y en a point d'autre.
Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
23 J'ai juré par moi-même, et la parole est sortie en justice de ma bouche, et elle ne sera point révoquée, que tout genou se pliera devant moi, et que toute langue jurera [par moi].
By myself I swear, speaking my just decree, and it will not turn back: 'To me every knee will bend, every tongue will swear.
24 Certainement on dira de moi; La justice et la force est en l'Eternel; mais quiconque viendra contre lui, sera honteux, et tous ceux qui seront indignés contre lui.
They will say of me, “In Yahweh alone are salvation and strength.”'” They will all be ashamed who are angry at him.
25 Toute la postérité d'Israël sera justifiée, et elle se glorifiera en l'Eternel.
In Yahweh all the descendants of Israel will be justified; they will take pride in him.
