Genèse 9
1 Et Dieu bénit Noé, et ses fils, et leur dit: Foisonnez, et multipliez, et remplissez la terre.
And God blisside Noe and hise sones, and seide to hem, Encreesse ye, and be ye multiplied, and fille ye the erthe;
2 Et que toutes les bêtes de la terre, tous les oiseaux des cieux, avec tout ce qui se meut sur la terre, et tous les poissons de la mer vous craignent et vous redoutent; ils sont mis entre vos mains.
and youre drede and tremblyng be on alle vnresonable beestis of erthe, and on alle briddis of heuene, with alle thingis that ben moued in erthe; alle fischis of the see ben youun to youre hond.
3 Tout ce qui se meut et qui a vie, vous sera pour viande; je vous ai donné toutes ces choses comme l'herbe verte.
And al thing which is moued and lyueth schal be to you in to mete; Y have youe to you alle thingis as greene wortis,
4 Toutefois vous ne mangerez point de chair avec son âme, [c'est-à-dire], son sang.
outakun that ye schulen not ete fleisch with blood,
5 Et certes je redemanderai votre sang, [le sang] de vos âmes, je le redemanderai de la main de toutes les bêtes, et de la main de l'homme, même de la main de chacun de ses frères je redemanderai l'âme de l'homme.
for Y schal seke the blood of youre lyues of the hoond of alle vnresonable beestis and of the hoond of man, of the hoond of man and of hys brother Y schal seke the lijf of man.
6 Celui qui aura répandu le sang de l'homme dans l'homme, son sang sera répandu; car Dieu a fait l'homme à son image.
Who euere schedith out mannus blood, his blood schal be sched; for man is maad to the ymage of God.
7 Vous donc, foisonnez, multipliez, croissez [en toute abondance] sur la terre, et multipliez sur elle.
Forsothe encreesse ye, and be ye multiplied, and entre ye on erthe, and fille ye it, Also the Lord seide thes thingis to Noe,
8 Dieu parla aussi à Noé et à ses fils qui étaient avec lui, en disant:
and to his sones with him, Lo!
9 Et quant à moi, voici, j'établis mon alliance avec vous, et avec votre race après vous.
Y schal make my couenaunt with you, and with your seed after you,
10 Et avec tout animal vivant qui est avec vous, tant des oiseaux, que du bétail, et de toutes les bêtes de la terre qui sont avec vous, de toutes celles qui sont sorties de l'arche, jusqu'à toutes les bêtes de la terre.
and to ech lyuynge soule which is with you, as wel in briddis as in werk beestis and smale beestis of erthe, and to alle thingis that yeden out of the schip, and to alle vnresonable beestis of erthe.
11 J'établis donc mon alliance avec vous, et nulle chair ne sera plus exterminée par les eaux du déluge, et il n'y aura plus de déluge pour détruire la terre.
Y schal make my couenaunt with you, and ech fleisch schal no more be slayn of the watris of the greet flood, nethir the greet flood distriynge al erthe schal be more.
12 Puis Dieu dit: C'est ici le signe que je donne de l'alliance entre moi et vous, et entre toute créature vivante qui est avec vous, pour durer à toujours;
And God seide, This is the signe of boond of pees, which Y yyue bitwixe me and you, and to ech lyuynge soule which is with you, in to euerlastynge generaciouns.
13 Je mettrai mon arc en la nuée, et il sera pour signe de l'alliance entre moi et la terre.
Y schal sette my bowe in the cloudis, and it schal be a signe of boond of pees bitwixe me and erthe;
14 Et quand il arrivera que j'aurai couvert la terre de nuées, l'arc paraîtra dans la nuée.
and whanne Y schal hile heuene with cloudis, my bowe schal appere in the cloudis,
15 Et je me souviendrai de mon alliance qui est entre moi et vous, entre tout animal qui vit en quelque chair que ce soit; et les eaux ne feront plus de déluge pour détruire toute chair.
and Y schal haue mynde of my boond of pees which Y made with you, and with ech soule lyuynge, that nurschith fleisch; and the watris of the greet flood schulen no more be to do awey al fleish.
16 L'arc donc sera dans la nuée, et je le regarderai, afin qu'il me souvienne de l'alliance perpétuelle entre Dieu et tout animal vivant, en quelque chair qui soit sur la terre.
And my bowe schal be in the cloudis, and Y schal se it, and Y schal haue mynde of euerlastynge boond of pees, which is maad bitwixe God and man, and ech soul lyuynge of al fleisch which is on erthe.
17 Dieu donc dit à Noé: C'est là le signe de l'alliance que j'ai établie entre moi et toute chair qui est sur la terre.
And God seide to Noe, This schal be a signe of boond of pees, which Y made bitwixe me and ech fleisch on erthe.
18 Et les fils de Noé qui sortirent de l'arche, furent Sem, Cam, et Japheth. Et Cam fut père de Canaan.
Therfore thei that yeden out of the schip weren Noe, Sem, Cham, and Japheth; forsothe Cham, thilke is the fadir of Chanaan.
19 Ce sont là les trois fils de Noé, desquels toute la terre fut peuplée.
These thre weren the sones of Noe, and al the kynde of men was sowun of hem on al erthe.
20 Et Noé, laboureur de la terre, commença de planter la vigne.
And Noe, an erthe tiliere, bigan to tile the erthe, and he plauntide a viner,
21 Et il en but du vin, et s'enivra, et il se découvrit au milieu de sa tente.
and he drank wyn, and was drunkun; and he was nakid, and lay in his tabernacle.
22 Et Cam, le père de Canaan, ayant vu la nudité de son père, le déclara dehors à ses deux frères.
And whanne Cham, the fadir of Chanaan, hadde seien this thing, that is, that the schameful membris of his fadir weren maad nakid, he telde to hise tweye britheren with out forth.
23 Et Sem et Japheth prirent un manteau qu'ils mirent sur leurs deux épaules, et marchant en arrière, ils couvrirent la nudité de leur père; et leurs visages [étaient tournés] en arrière, de sorte qu'ils ne virent point la nudité de leur père.
And sotheli Sem and Jafeth puttiden a mentil on her schuldris, and thei yeden bacward, and hileden the schameful membris of her fadir, and her faces weren turned awei, and thei sien not the priuy membris of her fadir.
24 Et Noé réveillé de son vin, sut ce que son fils le plus petit lui avait fait.
And forsothe Noe wakide of the wyn, and whanne he hadde lerned what thingis his lesse sone hadde do to hym,
25 C'est pourquoi il dit: Maudit soit Canaan; il sera serviteur des serviteurs de ses frères.
he seide, Cursid be the child Canaan, he schal be seruaunt of seruauntis to hise britheren.
26 Il dit aussi: Béni soit l'Eternel, Dieu de Sem; et que Canaan leur soit fait serviteur.
And Noe seide, Blessid be the Lord God of Sem,
27 Que Dieu attire en douceur Japheth, et que [Japheth] loge dans les tabernacles de Sem; et que Canaan leur soit fait serviteur.
and Chanaan be the seruaunt to Sem; God alarge Jafeth, and dwelle in the tabernaclis of Sem, and Chanaan be seruaunt of hym.
28 Et Noé vécut après le déluge trois cent cinquante ans.
Forsothe Noe lyuede aftir the greet flood thre hundrid and fifti yeer;
29 Tout le temps donc que Noé vécut, fut neuf cent cinquante ans; puis il mourut.
and alle the daies of hym weren fillid nyn hundrid and fifty yeer, and he was deed.
