Genèse 42
1 Et Jacob voyant qu'il y avait du blé à vendre en Egypte, dit à ses fils: Pourquoi vous regardez-vous les uns les autres?
And he saw Jacob that there [was] grain in Egypt and he said Jacob to sons his why? are you looking at one another.
2 Il leur dit aussi: Voici, j'ai appris qu'il y a du blé à vendre en Egypte, descendez-y, et nous en achetez, afin que nous vivions, et que nous ne mourions point.
And he said here! I have heard that there [is] grain in Egypt go down there towards and buy grain for us from there so we may live and not we will die.
3 Alors dix frères de Joseph descendirent pour acheter du blé en Egypte.
And they went down [the] brothers of Joseph ten to buy grain grain from Egypt.
4 Mais Jacob n'envoya point Benjamin frère de Joseph, avec ses frères; car il disait: Il faut prendre garde que quelque accident mortel ne lui arrive.
And Benjamin [the] brother of Joseph not he sent Jacob with brothers his for he said lest it should happen to him harm.
5 Ainsi les fils d'Israël allèrent [en Egypte] pour acheter du blé, avec ceux qui y allaient; car la famine était au pays de Canaan.
And they came [the] sons of Israel to buy grain in among those coming for it was the famine in [the] land of Canaan.
6 Or Joseph commandait dans le pays, et il faisait vendre le blé à tous les peuples de la terre. Les frères donc de Joseph vinrent, et se prosternèrent devant lui la face en terre.
And Joseph he [was] the ruler over the land he [was] the [one who] sold grain to all [the] people of the land and they came [the] brothers of Joseph and they bowed down to him face [the] ground towards.
7 Et Joseph ayant vu ses frères, les reconnut; mais il contrefit l'étranger avec eux, et il leur parla rudement, en leur disant: D'où venez-vous? Et ils répondirent: Du pays de Canaan, pour acheter des vivres.
And he saw Joseph brothers his and he recognized them and he acted as a stranger to them and he spoke with them harsh and he said to them from where? have you come and they said from [the] land of Canaan to buy food.
8 Joseph donc reconnut ses frères; mais eux ne le connurent point.
And he recognized Joseph brothers his and they not they recognized him.
9 Alors Joseph se souvint des songes qu'il avait songés d'eux, et leur dit: Vous [êtes] des espions, vous êtes venus pour remarquer les lieux faibles du pays.
And he remembered Joseph the dreams which he had dreamed of them and he said to them [are] spies you to see [the] nakedness of the land you have come.
10 Et ils lui [répon]dirent: Non, mon Seigneur, mais tes serviteurs sont venus pour acheter des vivres.
And they said to him no O lord my and servants your they have come to buy food.
11 Nous sommes tous enfants d'un même homme, nous sommes gens de bien; tes serviteurs ne sont point des espions.
All of us [are] sons of a man one we [are] honest we not they are servants your spies.
12 Et il leur dit: Cela n'est pas; mais vous êtes venus pour remarquer les lieux faibles du pays.
And he said to them In-deed [the] nakedness of the land you have come to see.
13 Et ils répondirent: Nous étions douze frères tes serviteurs, enfants d'un même homme, au pays de Canaan, dont le plus petit est aujourd'hui avec notre père, et l'un n'est plus.
And they said [are] two [plus] ten servants your brothers - we sons of a man one in [the] land of Canaan and there! the young [brother] [is] with father our this day and the one not [is] he.
14 Et Joseph leur dit: C'est ce que je vous disais, que vous êtes des espions.
And he said to them Joseph it [is that] which I said to you saying [are] spies you.
15 Vous serez éprouvés par ce moyen: Vive Pharaon, si vous sortez d'ici, que votre jeune frère ne soit venu ici.
By this you will be tested [by] [the] life of Pharaoh if you will go out from here that except when comes brother your young here.
16 Envoyez-en un d'entre vous qui amène votre frère; mais vous serez prisonniers, et j'éprouverai si vous avez dit la vérité; autrement, vive Pharaon, vous êtes des espions.
Send of yourselves one so he may fetch brother your and you be imprisoned so they may be tested words your ¿ [is] truth with you and if not [by] [the] life of Pharaoh for [are] spies you.
17 Et il les fit mettre tous ensemble en prison pour trois jours.
And he removed them to custody three days.
18 Et au troisième jour Joseph leur dit: Faites ceci, et vous vivrez; je crains Dieu.
And he said to them Joseph on the day third this do and live God I [am] fearing.
19 Si vous êtes gens de bien, que l'un de vous qui êtes frères, soit lié dans la prison où vous avez été renfermés, et allez-vous-en, [et] emportez du blé pour pourvoir à la disette de vos familles.
If [are] honest you brother your one let him be imprisoned in [the] house of custody your and you go take [the] grain of [the] hunger of households your.
20 Puis amenez-moi votre jeune frère et vos paroles se trouveront véritables; et vous ne mourrez point; et ils firent ainsi.
And brother your young you will bring to me so they may be verified words your and not you will die and they did so.
21 Et ils se disaient l'un à l'autre: Vraiment nous sommes coupables à l'égard de notre frère; car nous avons vu l'angoisse de son âme quand il nous demandait grâce, et nous ne l'avons point exaucé; c'est pour cela que cette angoisse nous est arrivée.
And they said each to brother his indeed [are] guilty - we on brother our who we saw [the] distress of self his when sought favor he to us and not we listened there-fore it has come to us the distress this.
22 Et Ruben leur répondit, en disant: Ne vous disais-je pas bien, ne commettez point ce péché contre l'enfant? Et vous ne m'écoutâtes point; c'est pourquoi, voici, son sang vous est redemandé.
And he answered Reuben them saying ¿ not did I say to you - saying may not you sin against the boy and not you listened and also blood his here! [is] being required.
23 Et ils ne savaient pas que Joseph les entendît; parce qu'il leur parlait par un truchement.
And they not they knew that [was] hearing Joseph for the interpreter [was] between them.
24 Et il se détourna d'auprès d'eux pour pleurer. Puis étant retourné vers eux, il leur parla [encore], et fit prendre d'entr'eux Siméon, et le fit lier devant leurs yeux.
And he turned away from with them and he wept and he returned to them and he spoke to them and he took from with them Simeon and he bound him to eyes their.
25 Et Joseph commanda qu'on remplît leurs sacs de blé, et qu'on remît l'argent dans le sac de chacun d'eux, et qu'on leur donnât de la provision pour leur chemin; et cela fut fait ainsi.
And he commanded Joseph and people filled vessels their grain and to return silver their each to sack his and to give to them provision[s] for the journey and someone did for them thus.
26 Ils chargèrent donc leur blé sur leurs ânes, et s'en allèrent.
And they lifted grain their on donkeys their and they went from there.
27 Et l'un d'eux ouvrit son sac pour donner à manger à son âne dans l'hôtellerie; et il vit son argent, et voilà il était à l'ouverture de son sac.
And he opened the one sack his to give fodder to donkey his at the lodging place and he saw silver his and there! it [was] in [the] mouth of sack his.
28 Et il dit à ses frères: Mon argent m'a été rendu; et en effet, le voici dans mon sac. Et le cœur leur tressaillit, et ils furent saisis de peur, et se dirent l'un à l'autre: Qu'est-ce que Dieu nous a fait?
And he said to brothers his it has been returned silver my and also here! in sack my and it went out heart their and they trembled each to brother his saying what? this has he done God to us.
29 Et étant arrivés au pays de Canaan, vers Jacob leur père, ils lui racontèrent toutes les choses qui leur étaient arrivées, en disant:
And they came to Jacob father their [the] land of towards Canaan and they told to him all the [things which] had happened to them saying.
30 L'homme qui commande dans le pays, nous a parlé rudement, et nous a pris pour des espions du pays.
He spoke the man [the] lord of the land with us harsh and he made us like [those who] spy out the land.
31 Mais nous lui ayons répondu: Nous sommes gens de bien, nous ne sommes point des espions.
And we said to him [are] honest we not we are spies.
32 Nous étions douze frères, enfants de notre père; l'un n'est plus, et le plus jeune est aujourd'hui avec notre père au pays de Canaan.
[are] two [plus] Ten we brothers sons of father our the one not [is] he and the young [brother] this day [is] with father our in [the] land of Canaan.
33 Et cet homme, qui commande dans le pays, nous a dit: Je connaîtrai à ceci que vous êtes gens de bien; laissez-moi l'un de vos frères, et prenez [du blé] pour vos familles [contre] la famine, et vous en allez.
And he said to us the man [the] lord of the land by this I will know that [are] honest you brother your one leave with me and [the] hunger of households your take and go.
34 Puis amenez-moi votre jeune frère, et je connaîtrai que vous n'êtes point des espions, mais des gens de bien; je vous rendrai votre frère, et vous trafiquerez au pays.
And bring brother your young to me so let me know that not [are] spies you that [are] honest you brother your I will give to you and the land you will go about in.
35 Et il arriva que comme ils vidaient leurs sacs, voici, le paquet de l'argent de chacun était dans son sac; et ils virent eux et leur père, les paquets de leur argent, et ils furent tout effrayés.
And it was they [were] emptying sacks their and there! each man [the] bag of silver his [was] in sack his and they saw [the] bags of silver their they and father their and they were afraid.
36 Alors Jacob leur père leur dit: Vous m'ayez privé d'enfants: Joseph n'est plus, et Siméon n'est plus, et vous prendriez Benjamin! Toutes ces choses sont entre moi.
And he said to them Jacob father their me you are making childless Joseph not [is] he and Simeon not [is] he and Benjamin you will take on me they are all of them.
37 Et Ruben parla à son père, et lui dit: Fais mourir deux de mes fils, si je ne te le ramène; donne-le moi en charge; et je te le ramènerai.
And he said Reuben to father his saying two of sons my you will kill if not I will bring him to you put! him on hand my and I I will bring back him to you.
38 Et il répondit: Mon fils ne descendra point avec vous, car son frère est mort, et celui-ci est resté seul, et quelque accident mortel lui arriverait dans le chemin par où vous irez, et vous feriez descendre mes cheveux blancs avec douleur au sépulcre. (Sheol h7585)
And he said not he will go down son my with you for brother his he has died and he to only him [is] remaining and it will happen to him harm on the journey which you will go on it and you will cause to go down gray hair my in sorrow Sheol towards. (Sheol h7585)
