Ézéchiel 13
1 La parole de l'Eternel me fut encore [adressée], en disant:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 Fils d'homme, prophétise contre les Prophètes d'Israël qui [se mêlent] de prophétiser, et dis à ces Prophètes qui prophétisent de leur propre mouvement: écoutez la parole de l'Eternel.
Son of man, prophesy thou against the prophets of Israel that prophesy: and thou shalt say to them that prophesy out of their own heart: Hear ye the word of the Lord:
3 Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: malheur aux Prophètes insensés qui suivent leur propre esprit, et qui n'ont point eu de vision.
Thus saith the Lord God: Woe to the foolish prophets that follow their own spirit, and see nothing.
4 Israël, tes Prophètes ont été comme des renards dans les déserts.
Thy prophets, O Israel, were like foxes in the deserts.
5 Vous n'êtes point montés aux brèches, et vous n'avez point refait les cloisons pour la maison d'Israël, afin de vous trouver au combat à la journée de l'Eternel.
You have not gone up to face the enemy, nor have you set up a wall for the house of Israel, to stand in battle in the day of the Lord.
6 Ils ont eu des visions de vanité, et des divinations de mensonge, en disant: l'Eternel a dit; et toutefois l'Eternel ne les avait point envoyés; et ils ont fait espérer que leur parole serait accomplie.
They see vain things, and they foretell lies, saying: The Lord saith: whereas the Lord hath not sent them: and they have persisted to confirm what they have said.
7 N'avez-vous pas vu des visions de vanité, et prononcé des divinations de mensonge? cependant vous dites: l'Eternel a parlé; et je n'ai point parlé.
Have you not seen a vain vision and spoken a lying divination: and you say: The Lord saith: whereas I have not spoken.
8 C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: parce que vous avez prononcé la vanité, et que vous avez eu des visions de mensonge, à cause de cela j'en [veux] à vous, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel.
Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Because you have spoken vain things, and have seen lies: therefore behold I come against you, saith the Lord God.
9 Et ma main sera sur les Prophètes qui ont des visions de vanité, et des divinations de mensonge; ils ne seront plus [admis] dans le conseil de mon peuple, ils ne seront plus écrits dans les registres de la maison d'Israël, ils n'entreront plus en la terre d'Israël; et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur l'Eternel.
And my hand shall be upon the prophets that see vain things, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the council of my people, nor shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel, and you shall know that I am the Lord God.
10 Parce, oui parce qu'ils ont abusé mon peuple, en disant: Paix! et [il] n'[y avait] point de paix. L'un bâtissait la paroi, et les autres l'enduisaient de mortier mal lié.
Because they have deceived my people, saying: Peace, and there is no peace: and the people built up a wall, and they daubed it with dirt without straw.
11 Dis à ceux qui enduisent [la paroi] de mortier mal lié, qu'elle tombera; il y aura une pluie débordée, et vous, pierres de grêle, vous tomberez [sur elle], et un vent de tempête la fendra.
Say to them that daub without tempering, that it shall fall: for there shall be an overflowing shower, and I will cause great hailstones to fall violently from above, and a stormy wind to throw it down.
12 Et voici, la paroi est tombée; ne vous sera-t-il donc pas dit: où [est] l'enduit dont vous l'avez enduite?
Behold, when the wall is fallen: shall it not be said to you: Where is the daubing wherewith you have daubed it?
13 C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: je ferai éclater en ma fureur un vent impétueux, et il y aura une pluie débordée en ma colère, et des pierres de grêle en [ma] fureur pour détruire entièrement.
Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Lo, I will cause a stormy wind to break forth in my indignation, and there shall be an overflowing shower in my anger: and great hailstones in my wrath to consume.
14 Et je démolirai la paroi que vous avez enduite de mortier mal lié, je la jetterai par terre, tellement que son fondement sera découvert, et elle tombera; vous serez consumés au milieu d'elle, et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel.
And I will break down the wall that you have daubed with untempered mortar: and I will make it even with the ground, and the foundation thereof shall be laid bare: and it shall fall, and shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and you shall know that I am the Lord.
15 Ainsi je consommerai ma colère contre la paroi, et contre ceux qui l'enduisent de mortier mal lié; et je vous dirai: la paroi n'est plus, ni ceux qui l'ont enduite;
And I will accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that daub it without tempering the mortar, and I will say to you: The wall is no more, and they that daub it are no more.
16 [Savoir] les Prophètes d'Israël, qui prophétisent touchant Jérusalem, et qui voient pour elle des visions de paix; et néanmoins il n'y a point de paix, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel.
Even the prophets of Israel that prophesy to Jerusalem, and that see visions of peace for her: and there is no peace, saith the Lord God.
17 Aussi, toi fils d'homme, tourne ta face contre les filles de ton peuple qui prophétisent de leur propre mouvement, et prophétise contre elles.
And thou, son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people that prophesy out of their own heart: and do thou prophesy against them,
18 Et dis: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: malheur à celles qui cousent des coussins pour s'accouder le long du bras jusques aux mains, et qui font des voiles [pour mettre] sur la tête des personnes de toute taille, pour séduire les âmes. Séduiriez-vous les âmes de mon peuple; et vous garantiriez-vous [vos] âmes?
And say: Thus saith the Lord God: Woe to them that sew cushions under every elbow: and make pillows for the heads of persons of every age to catch souls: and when they caught the souls of my people, they gave life to their souls.
19 Et me profaneriez-vous envers mon peuple pour des poignées d'orge, et pour des pièces de pain en faisant mourir les âmes qui ne devaient point mourir, et faisant vivre les âmes qui ne devaient point vivre, en mentant à mon peuple qui écoute le mensonge?
And they violated me among my people, for a handful of barley, and a piece of bread, to kill souls which should not die, and to save souls alive which should not live, telling lies to my people that believe lies.
20 C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: voici, j'en [veux] à vos coussins, par lesquels vous séduisez les âmes pour les faire voler [vers vous]; et je déchirerai ces [coussins] de vos bras, et je ferai échapper les âmes que vous avez attirées afin qu'elles volent [vers vous].
Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Behold I declare against your cushions, wherewith you catch flying souls: and I will tear them off from your arms: and I will let go the souls that you catch, the souls that should fly.
21 Je déchirerai aussi vos voiles, et je délivrerai mon peuple d'entre vos mains, et ils ne seront plus entre vos mains pour en faire votre chasse; et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel.
And I will tear your pillows, and will deliver my people out of your hand, neither shall they be any more in your hands to be a prey: and you shall know that I am the Lord.
22 Parce que vous avez affligé sans sujet le cœur du juste, lequel je ne contristais point, et que vous avez renforcé les mains du méchant, afin qu'il ne se détournât point de son mauvais train, [et] que je lui sauvasse la vie.
Because with lies you have made the heart of the just to mourn, whom I have not made sorrowful: and have strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his evil way, and live.
23 C'est pourquoi vous n'aurez plus aucune vision de vanité, ni aucune divination, mais je délivrerai mon peuple d'entre vos mains; et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel.
Therefore you shall not see vain things, nor divine divinations any more, and I will deliver my people out of your hand: and you shall know that I am the Lord.
