Deutéronome 22
1 Quand tu verras le bœuf ou la brebis ou la chèvre de ton frère égarés tu ne te cacheras point d'eux; [et] tu ne manqueras point de les ramener à ton frère.
Thou shalt not see thy brother's ox or his lamb go astray, and withdraw thyself from them: thou shalt surely bring them back again unto thy brother.
2 Que si ton frère ne demeure point près de toi, ou que tu ne le connaisses point, tu les retireras même dans ta maison, et ils seront avec toi, jusqu'à ce que ton frère les cherche, et alors tu les lui rendras.
But if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or thou know him not: then shalt thou take it unto thy own house, and it shall remain with thee until thy brother inquire after it, and then shalt thou restore it to him.
3 Tu feras la même chose de son âne, et tu feras ainsi de son vêtement, et tu feras ainsi de toute chose que ton frère aura perdue, et que tu auras trouvée, ayant été égarée, tu ne t'en pourras pas cacher.
In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and in like manner shalt thou do with his raiment; and in like manner shalt thou do with every lost thing of thy brother's, which may have been lost to him, and which thou hast found; thou art not at liberty to withdraw thyself.
4 Si tu vois l'âne de ton frère, ou son bœuf tombés dans le chemin, tu ne te cacheras point d'eux, [et] tu ne manqueras point de les relever conjointement avec lui.
Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fallen down by the way, and withdraw thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.
5 La femme ne portera point l'habit d'un homme, ni l'homme ne se vêtira point d'un habit de femme; car quiconque fait de telles choses est en abomination à l'Eternel ton Dieu.
A woman shall not have upon her the apparel of a man, and a man shall not put on a woman's garment; for an abomination unto the Lord thy God are all who do this.
6 Quand tu rencontreras dans un chemin, sur quelque arbre, ou sur la terre, un nid d'oiseaux, ayant des petits ou des œufs, et la mère couvant les petits ou les œufs, tu ne prendras point la mère avec les petits;
If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way, on any tree, or on the ground, with young ones, or with eggs, and the mother be sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs: thou shalt not take the mother with the young;
7 Mais tu ne manqueras point de laisser aller la mère, et tu prendras les petits pour toi; afin que tu prospères, et que tu prolonges tes jours.
But thou shalt surely let the mother go, and the young thou mayest take to thyself; in order that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest live many days.
8 Quand tu bâtiras une maison neuve, tu feras des défenses tout autour de ton toit, afin que tu ne rendes point ta maison coupable de sang, si quelqu'un tombait de là.
When thou buildest a new house, thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof; that thou bring not blood upon thy house, if any one were to fall from there.
9 Tu ne sèmeras point dans ta vigne diverses sortes de grains; de peur que le tout, [savoir] les grains, que tu auras semés, et le rapport de ta vigne, ne soit souillé.
Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds; that the ripe fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of the vineyard, be not defiled.
10 Tu ne laboureras point avec un âne et un bœuf accouplés ensemble.
Thou shalt not plough with an ox and an ass together.
11 Tu ne te vêtiras point d'un drap tissu de diverses matières, [c'est-à-dire], de laine et de lin ensemble.
Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, of woolen and linen together.
12 Tu te feras des bandes aux quatre pans de ta robe, de laquelle tu te couvres.
Thou shalt make thyself fringes upon the four corners of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.
13 Quand quelqu'un aura pris une femme, et qu'après être venu vers elle, il la haïsse,
If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,
14 Et qu'il lui impute quelque chose qui donne occasion de parler en répandant contr'elle quelque mauvais bruit, et disant: J'ai pris cette femme, et quand je me suis approché d'elle, je n'ai point trouvé en elle sa virginité;
And he lay an accusation against her, and spread abroad an evil name upon her, and say, This woman I took [for wife], and when I came near to her, I found no tokens of virginity in her:
15 Alors le père et la mère de la jeune fille prendront et produiront les marques de sa virginité devant les Anciens de la ville, à la porte.
Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city, to the gate.
16 Et le père de la jeune fille dira aux Anciens: J'ai donné ma fille à cet homme pour femme, et il l'a prise en haine;
And the father of the damsel shall say unto the elders, My daughter I gave unto this man for wife; but he hath conceived hatred toward her;
17 Et voici, il lui a imposé une chose qui donne occasion de parler, disant: Je n'ai point trouvé que ta fille fût vierge; cependant voici les marques de la virginité de ma fille, et ils étendront le drap devant les Anciens de la ville.
And, lo, he hath laid an accusation [against her], saying, I have found no tokens of virginity in thy daughter; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity; and they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
18 Alors les Anciens de cette ville-là prendront le mari, et le châtieront.
And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;
19 Et parce qu'il aura répandu un mauvais bruit contre une vierge d'Israël, ils le condamneront à cent [pièces] d'argent, lesquelles ils donneront au père de la jeune fille; et elle sera pour femme à cet homme-là, et il ne la pourra pas renvoyer, tant qu'il vivra.
And they shall amerce him in a hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel; because he hath spread abroad an evil name upon a virgin of Israel; and she shall remain his wife; he shall not be at liberty to put her away all his days.
20 Mais si ce qu'il a dit, que la jeune fille ne se soit point trouvée vierge, est véritable;
But if this thing was true, there have not been found tokens of virginity in the damsel:
21 Alors ils feront sortir la jeune fille à la porte de la maison de son père, et les gens de sa ville l'assommeront de pierres et elle mourra; car elle a commis une infamie en Israël, en paillardant dans la maison de son père; et ainsi tu ôteras le mal du milieu de toi.
Then shall they lead out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die; because she hath wrought a disgraceful deed in Israel, to commit incest in her father's house; and thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.
22 Quand un homme aura été trouvé couché avec une femme mariée, ils mourront tous deux, l'homme qui a couché avec la femme, et la femme aussi; et tu ôteras le mal d'Israël.
If a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband: then shall both of them die, the man that lieth with the woman, and the woman; and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.
23 Quand une jeune fille vierge sera fiancée à un homme, et que quelqu'un l'ayant trouvée dans la ville, aura couché avec elle;
If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto a man, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her:
24 Vous les ferez sortir tous deux à la porte de la ville, et vous les assommerez de pierres, et ils mourront; la jeune fille, parce qu'elle n'a point crié étant dans la ville; et l'homme, parce qu'il a violé la femme de son prochain; et tu ôteras le mal du milieu de toi.
Then shall ye lead them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not [for aid] in the city; and the man, because he hath done violence to his neighbor's wife; and thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.
25 Que si quelqu'un trouve aux champs une jeune fille fiancée, et que lui faisant violence, il couche avec elle, alors l'homme qui aura couché avec elle, mourra lui seul.
But if in the field the man should find the betrothed damsel, and the man take hold of her by force, and lie with her: then shall the man that lay with her die alone;
26 Mais tu ne feras rien à la jeune fille; la jeune fille n'a point commis en cela de péché digne de mort; car il en est de ce cas comme si quelqu'un s'élevait contre son prochain, et lui ôtait la vie.
But unto the damsel shalt thou not do any thing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death; for as when a man riseth against his neighbor, and striketh him dead. even so is this matter;
27 Parce que l'ayant trouvée aux champs, la jeune fille fiancée a crié, et personne ne l'a délivrée.
For in the field did he find her; had the betrothed damsel even cried, there would have been none to aid her.
28 Quand quelqu'un trouvera une jeune fille vierge non fiancée, et la prendra, et couchera avec elle, et qu'ils soient trouvés sur le fait;
If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and lay fast hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found:
29 L'homme qui aura couché avec elle, donnera au père de la jeune fille cinquante [pièces] d'argent, et elle lui sera pour femme, parce qu'il l'a humiliée; il ne la pourra point laisser, tant qu'il vivra.
Then shall the man who lieth with her give unto the father of the damsel fifty shekels of silver; and she shall become his wife, because he hath done violence to her, he shall not be at liberty to put her away all his days.
30 Nul ne prendra la femme de son père, ni ne découvrira le pan de la robe de son père.
A man shall not take his lather's wife, and he shall not uncover his father's skirt.
