1 De son temps Nébuchadnetsar, Roi de Babylone, monta [contre Jéhojakim], et Jéhojakim lui fut asservi l'espace de trois ans; puis ayant changé de volonté, il se rebella contre lui.
In the daies of hym Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, stiede, and Joachym was maad seruaunt to hym by thre yeeris; and eft Joachym rebellide ayens hym.
2 Et l'Eternel envoya contre Jéhojakim des troupes de Chaldéens, et des troupes de Syriens, et des troupes de Moab, et des troupes des enfants de Hammon; il les envoya, dis-je, contre Juda, pour le détruire, suivant la parole de l'Eternel qu'il avait prononcée par le moyen des Prophètes ses serviteurs.
And the Lord sente to hym theuys of Caldeis, and theuys of Sirie, and theuys of Moab, and theuys of the sones of Amon; and he sente hem `in to Juda, that he schulde destrie it, bi the word of the Lord, which he spak bi hise seruauntis prophetis.
3 Et cela arriva selon le mandement de l'Eternel contre Juda, pour le rejeter de devant sa face, à cause des péchés de Manassé, selon tout ce qu'il avait fait;
Forsothe this was doon bi the word of the Lord ayens Juda, that he schulde do awei it bifor him silf, for the synnes of Manasses, and alle thingis whiche he dide,
4 Et à cause aussi du sang innocent qu'il avait répandu, ayant rempli Jérusalem de sang innocent; [c'est pourquoi] l'Eternel ne lui voulut point pardonner.
and for the giltles blood which he sched out; and he fillide Jerusalem with the blood of innocentis; and for this thing the Lord nolde do mercy.
5 Le reste des faits de Jéhojakim, tout ce, dis-je, qu'il a fait, n'est-il pas écrit au Livre des Chroniques des Rois de Juda?
Forsothe the residue of wordis of Joachim, and alle thingis whiche he dide, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Juda?
6 Ainsi Jéhojakim s'endormit avec ses pères; et Jéhojachin son fils régna en sa place.
And Joachym slept with hise fadris, and Joakyn, his sone, regnyde for him.
7 Or le Roi d'Egypte ne sortit plus de son pays, parce que le Roi de Babylone avait pris tout ce qui était au Roi d Egypte, depuis le torrent d'Egypte jusqu'au fleuve d'Euphrate.
And the kyng of Egipt addide no more to go out of hys lond; for the kyng of Babiloyne hadde take alle thingis that weren the kyngis of Egipt, fro the strond of Egipt `til to the flood Eufrates.
8 Jéhojachin était âgé de dix-huit ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna trois mois à Jérusalem; sa mère avait nom Nehusta, fille d'Elnathan de Jérusalem.
Joakyn was of eiytene yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde thre monethis in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Nahesta, douytir of Helnathan of Jerusalem.
9 Il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel, comme avait fait son père.
And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis whiche hise fadir hadde do.
10 En ce temps-là les gens de Nébuchadnetsar, Roi de Babylone, montèrent contre Jérusalem, et là ville fut assiégée.
In that tyme the seruauntis of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, stieden `in to Jerusalem, and the citee was cumpassid with bisegyngis.
11 Et Nébuchadnetsar Roi de Babylone vint contre la ville, lorsque ses gens l'assiégeaient.
And Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, cam to the citee with hise seruauntis, that he schulde fiyte ayens it.
12 Alors Jéhojachin Roi de Juda sortit vers le Roi de Babylone, lui, sa mère, ses gens, ses capitaines, et ses Eunuques; de sorte que le Roi de Babylone le prit la huitième année de son règne.
And Joakyn, kyng of Juda, yede out to the king of Babiloyne, he, and his modir, and hise seruauntis, and hise princis, and hise chaumburleyns; and the king of Babiloyne resseyuede him, in the eiythe yeer of `his rewme.
13 Et il tira hors de là, selon que l'Eternel en avait parlé, tous les trésors de la maison de l'Eternel, et les trésors de la maison Royale, et mit en pièces tous les ustensiles d'or que Salomon Roi d'Israël avait faits pour le Temple de l'Eternel.
And he brouyte forth fro thens alle the tresours of the `hous of the Lord, and the tresours of the kingis hous; and he beet togider alle the goldun vessels, whiche Salomon, king of Israel, hadde maad in the temple of the Lord, bi the `word of the Lord.
14 Et il transporta tout Jérusalem, savoir, tous les capitaines, et tous les vaillants hommes de guerre, au nombre de dix mille captifs, avec les charpentiers et les serruriers, de sorte qu'il ne demeura personne de reste que le pauvre peuple du pays.
And he translatide al Jerusalem, and alle the princis, and alle the strong men of the oost, ten thousynde, in to caitiftee, and ech crafti man, and goldsmyyt; and no thing was left, outakun the pore puplis of the lond.
15 Ainsi il transporta Jéhojachin à Babylone, avec la mère du Roi, et les femmes du Roi et ses Eunuques, et il emmena captifs à Babylone tous les plus puissants du pays de Jérusalem;
Also he translatide Joakyn in to Babiloyne, and the moder of the king, `the wyues of the king, and the chaumburleyns of the king; and he ledde the iugis of the lond in to caitifte fro Jerusalem in to Babiloyne;
16 Avec tous les hommes vaillants au nombre de sept mille, et les charpentiers et les serruriers au nombre de mille, tous puissants et propres à la guerre, lesquels le Roi de Babylone emmena captifs [à] Babylone.
and alle stronge men, seuene thousynde; and crafti men and goldsmyythis, a thousynde; alle stronge men and werriouris; and the king of Babiloyne ledde hem prisoners in to Babiloyne.
17 Et le Roi de Babylone établit pour Roi, en la place de Jéhojachin, Mattania son oncle, et lui changea son nom, [l'appelant] Sédécias.
And he ordeynede Mathanye, the brother of his fadir, for hym; and puttide to hym the name Sedechie.
18 Sédécias était âgé de vingt et un ans, quand il commença à régner, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem; sa mère avait nom Hamutal, fille de Jérémie de Libna.
Sedechie hadde the oon and twentithe yeer of age, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde eleuene yeer in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Amychal, douyter of Jeremye of Lobna.
19 Il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel comme avait fait Jéhojakim.
And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis which Joachym hadde do.
20 Car il arriva à cause de la colère de l'Eternel contre Jérusalem et contre Juda, afin qu'il les rejetât de devant sa face, que Sédécias se rebella contre le Roi de Babylone.
For the Lord was wrooth ayens Jerusalem, and ayens Juda, til he caste hem awey fro his face; and Sedechie yede awei fro the king of Babiloyne.
