1 Samuel 22
1 Or David partit de là, et se sauva dans la caverne d'Hadullam; ce que ses frères et toute la maison de son père ayant appris, ils descendirent là vers lui.
Therfor Dauid yede fro thennus, and fledde in to the denne of Odollam; and whanne hise britheren, and al the hows of his fadir hadden herd this, thei camen doun thidur to hym.
2 Tous ceux aussi qui étaient mal dans leurs affaires, et qui avaient des créanciers [dont ils étaient tourmentés], et qui avaient le cœur plein d'amertume, s'assemblèrent vers lui, et il fut leur chef; et il y eut avec lui environ quatre cents hommes.
And alle men that weren set in angwisch, and oppressid with othere mennus dette, and in bittir soule, camen togidere to hym; and he was maad the prince `of hem, and as foure hundrid men weren with hym.
3 Et David s'en alla de là à Mitspé de Moab; et il dit au Roi de Moab: Je te prie que mon père et ma mère se retirent vers vous jusqu'à ce que je sache ce que Dieu fera de moi.
And Dauid yede forth fro thennus in to Masphat, which is of Moab; and he seide to the kyng of Moab, Y preye, dwelle my fadir and my modir with you, til Y wite what thing God schal do to me.
4 Et il les amena devant le Roi de Moab, et ils demeurèrent avec lui, tout le temps que David fut dans cette forteresse.
And he lefte hem bifor the face of the kyng of Moab; and thei dwelliden at hym in alle daies, `in whiche Dauid was in `the forselet, ether stronghold.
5 Or Gad le prophète dit à David: Ne demeure point dans cette forteresse, [mais] va-t'en, et entre dans le pays de Juda. David donc s'en alla, et vint en la forêt de Hérets.
And Gad, the profete, seide to Dauid, Nyle thou dwelle in `the forselet; go thou forth, and go in to the lond of Juda. And Dauid yede forth, and cam in to the forest of Areth.
6 Et Saül apprit qu'on avait découvert David et les gens qui étaient avec lui. Or Saül était assis au coteau sous un chêne à Rama, ayant sa hallebarde en sa main, et tous ses serviteurs se tenaient devant lui.
And Saul herde, that Dauid apperide, and the men that weren with hym. Forsothe whanne Saul dwellide in Gabaa, and was in the wode which is in Rama, and `helde a spere in the hond, and alle hise seruauntis stoden aboute hym,
7 Et Saül dit à ses serviteurs qui se tenaient devant lui: Ecoutez maintenant, Benjamites: Le fils d'Isaï vous donnera-t-il à vous tous des champs et des vignes? Vous établira-t-il tous gouverneurs sur milliers, et sur centaines?
he seide to hise seruauntis that stoden nyy hym, The sones of Gemyny, here me now; whether the sone of Ysai schal yyue to alle you feeldis and vyneris, and schal make alle you tribunes and centuriouns?
8 Que vous ayez tous conspiré contre moi, et qu'il n'y ait personne qui m'avertisse que mon fils a fait alliance avec le fils d'Isaï, et qu'il n'y ait aucun de vous qui ait pitié de moi, et qui m'avertisse; car mon fils a suscité mon serviteur contre moi pour me dresser des embûches, comme il paraît aujourd'hui.
For alle ye han swore, ether conspirid, togidere ayens me, and noon is that tellith to me; moost sithen also my sone hath ioyned boond of pees with the sone of Ysai; noon is of you, that sorewith `for my stide, nether that tellith to me, for my sone hath reisid my seruaunt ayens me, settynge tresoun to me `til to dai.
9 Alors Doëg Iduméen, qui était établi sur les serviteurs de Saül, répondit, et dit: J'ai vu le fils d'Isaï venir à Nob vers Ahimélec fils d'Ahitub;
Sotheli Doech of Ydumye answeride, that stood nyy, and was the firste among `the seruauntis of Saul, and seide, Y siy `the sone of Ysai in Nobe, at Achymelech, preest, the sone of Achitob;
10 Qui a consulté l'Eternel pour lui, et lui a donné des vivres, et l'épée de Goliath le Philistin.
which counseilide the Lord for Dauid, and yaf meetis `to hym, but also he yaf to Dauid the swerd of Goliath Filistei.
11 Alors le Roi envoya appeler Ahimélec le Sacrificateur fils d'Ahitub, et toute la famille de son père, [savoir] les Sacrificateurs qui étaient à Nob; et ils vinrent tous vers le Roi.
Therfor the kyng sente to clepe Achymelech, the preest, `the sone of Achitob, and al the hows of his fadir, of preestis that weren in Nobe; whiche alle camen to the kyng.
12 Et Saül dit: Ecoute maintenant, fils d'Ahitub; et il répondit: Me voici, mon Seigneur.
And Saul seide to Achymelech, Here, thou sone of Achitob.
13 Alors Saül lui dit: Pourquoi avez-vous conspiré contre moi, toi et le fils d'Isaï, vu que tu lui as donné du pain, et une épée, et que tu as consulté Dieu pour lui, afin qu'il s'élevât contre moi pour me dresser des embûches, comme il paraît aujourd'hui.
Which answeride, Lord, Y am redi. And Saul seide to hym, Whi hast thou conspirid ayens me, thou, and the sone of Ysai, and yauest looues and a swerd to hym, and councelidist the Lord for hym, that he schulde rise ayens me, and he dwellith a tretour `til to dai?
14 Et Ahimélec répondit au Roi, et dit: Entre tous tes serviteurs y en a-t-il un comme David, qui est fidèle, et gendre du Roi, et qui est parti par ton commandement, et qui est si honoré en ta maison?
And Achymelech answeride to the kyng, and seide, And who among alle thi seruauntis is as Dauid feithful, and the sone in lawe `of the kyng, and goynge at thi comaundement, and gloriouse in thin hows?
15 Ai-je commencé aujourd'hui à consulter Dieu pour lui? A Dieu ne plaise! Que le Roi ne charge donc d'aucune chose son serviteur, ni toute la maison de mon père; car ton serviteur ne sait chose ni petite ni grande de tout ceci.
Whether Y bigan to dai to counsele the Lord for hym? Fer be this fro me; suppose not the kyng ayens his seruaunt `siche a thing in al `the hows of my fadir; for thi seruaunt knew not ony thing, ether litil ethir greet, of this cause.
16 Et le Roi lui dit: Certainement tu mourras, Ahimélec, et toute la famille de ton père.
And the kyng seide, Achymelech, thou schalt die bi deeth, thou, and al the hows of thi fadir.
17 Alors le Roi dit aux archers qui se tenaient devant lui: Tournez-vous, et faites mourir les Sacrificateurs de l'Eternel; car ils sont aussi de la faction de David parce qu'ils ont bien su qu'il s'enfuyait, et qu'ils ne m'en ont point averti. Mais les serviteurs du Roi ne voulurent point étendre leurs mains, pour se jeter sur les Sacrificateurs de l'Eternel.
And the kyng seide to men able to be sent out, that stoden aboute hym, Turne ye, and sle the preestis of the Lord, for the hond of hem is with Dauid; and thei wisten that he fledde, and thei schewiden not to me. Sotheli the seruauntis of the kyng nolden holde forth her hond in to the preestis of the Lord.
18 Alors le Roi dit à Doëg: Tourne-toi, et te jette sur les Sacrificateurs; et Doëg Iduméen se tourna, et se jeta sur les Sacrificateurs; et il tua en ce jour-là quatre vingt cinq hommes qui portaient l'Ephod de lin.
And the kyng seide to Doech, Turne thou, and hurle in to the preestis of the Lord. And Doech of Ydumee turnede, and hurlide in to the preestis, and stranglide in that dai foure score and fyue men, clothid with `ephoth of lynnun cloth.
19 Et il fit passer Nob, ville des Sacrificateurs, au fil de l'épée, les hommes et les femmes, les grands et ceux qui tètent, même [il fit passer] les bœufs, les ânes, et le menu bétail au fil de l'épée.
Forsothe he smoot Nobe, the citee of preestis, by the scharpnesse of swerd, men and wymmen, litle children and soukynge, and oxe, and asse, and sheep, bi the scharpnesse of swerd.
20 Toutefois un des fils d'Ahimélec, fils d'Ahitub, qui avait nom Abiathar, se sauva, et s'enfuit auprès de David.
Forsothe o sone of Achymelech, sone of Achitob, ascapide, of which sone the name was Abiathar; and he fledde to Dauid,
21 Et Abiathar rapporta à David, que Saül avait tué les Sacrificateurs de l'Eternel.
and telde to hym that Saul hadde slayn the preestis of the Lord.
22 Et David dit à Abiathar: Je connus bien en ce jour-là, puisque Doëg Iduméen était là, qu'il ne manquerait pas de le rapporter à Saül; je suis cause [de ce qui est arrivé] à toutes les personnes de la famille de ton père.
And Dauid seide to Abiathar, Sotheli Y wiste, `that is, Y coniectide, ether dredde, in that dai, that whanne Doech of Ydumee was there, he wolde telle with out doute to Saul; Y am gilti of alle the lyues of thi fadir.
23 Demeure avec moi, ne crains point; car celui qui cherche ma vie, cherche la tienne; certainement tu seras gardé avec moi.
Dwelle thou with me, drede thou not; if ony man sekith thi lijf, he schal seke also my lijf, and thou schalt be kept with me.
