1 Chroniques 20
1 Or il arriva l'armée suivante, au temps que les Rois font leur sortie, que Joab conduisit le gros de l'armée, et ravagea le pays des enfants de Hammon; puis il alla assiéger Rabba, tandis que David demeurait à Jérusalem; et Joab battit Rabba, et la détruisit.
And it came to pass, at the time of the return of the same season of the year, at the time when kings go forth, that Joab led out the power of the army, and destroyed the country of the children of 'Ammon, and he came and besieged Rabbah. But David remained behind at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and pulled it down.
2 Et David prit la couronne de dessus la tête de leur Roi, et il trouva qu'elle pesait un talent d'or, et il y avait des pierres précieuses; et on la mit sur la tête de David, qui emmena un fort grand butin de la ville.
And David took the crown of Malkam from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and thereon a precious stone; and it was set on the head of David: and the booty of the city he brought out in great abundance.
3 Il emmena aussi le peuple qui y était, et les scia avec des scies, et avec des herses de fer et de scies. David traita de la sorte toutes les villes des enfants de Hammon; puis il s'en retourna avec tout le peuple à Jérusalem.
And the people that were therein he brought forward, and cut them with saws, and with iron threshing-wagons, and with axes; and thus did David unto all the cities of the children of 'Ammon; and David returned then with all the people unto Jerusalem.
4 Il arriva après cela que la guerre continua à Guézer contre les Philistins; [et] alors Sibbecaï le Husathite frappa Sippaï, qui était des enfants de Rapha, et ils furent abaissés.
And it came to pass after this, that there arose a battle at Gezer with the Philistines: then smote Sibbechai the Chushathite Sippai, one of the children of the Rapha; and they were humbled.
5 Il y eut encore une autre guerre contre les Philistins, dans laquelle Elhanan fils de Jahir frappa Lahmi, frère de Goliath Guittien, qui avait une hallebarde dont la hampe était comme l'ensuble d'un tisserand.
And there was again a battle with the Philistines, when Elchanan the son of Yair smote Lachmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
6 Il y eut encore une autre guerre à Gath, où se trouva un homme de grande stature, qui avait six doigts à chaque main, et [six orteils] à chaque pied, de sorte qu'il en avait en tout vingt-quatre; et il était aussi de la race de Rapha.
And there was again a battle at Gath, where was a man of [great] stature, whose fingers and toes were six on each [hand and foot], four and twenty [in all]; and he also was born to the Rapha.
7 Et il défia Israël; mais Jonathan, fils de Simha frère de David, le tua.
And he defied Israel; but Jonathan the son of Shim'a the brother of David smote him.
8 Ceux-là naquirent à Gath; ils étaient de la race de Rapha, et ils moururent par les mains de David, et par les mains de ses serviteurs.
These were born unto the Rapha in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
