Psaumes 61

1 Au chef des chantres. Sur instruments à cordes. De David. O Dieu! Écoute mes cris, Sois attentif à ma prière!

[For the Chief Musician. For a stringed instrument. By David.] Hear my cry, God. Listen to my prayer.

2 Du bout de la terre je crie à toi, le cœur abattu; Conduis-moi sur le rocher que je ne puis atteindre!

From the most remote place of the earth, I will call to you, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 Car tu es pour moi un refuge, Une tour forte, en face de l’ennemi.

For you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower from the enemy.

4 Je voudrais séjourner éternellement dans ta tente, Me réfugier à l’abri de tes ailes. (Pause)

I will dwell in your tent forever. I will take refuge in the shelter of your wings. (Selah)

5 Car toi, ô Dieu! Tu exauces mes vœux, Tu me donnes l’héritage de ceux qui craignent ton nom.

For you, God, have heard my vows. You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

6 Ajoute des jours aux jours du roi; Que ses années se prolongent à jamais!

You will prolong the king's life; his years shall be for generations.

7 Qu’il reste sur le trône éternellement devant Dieu! Fais que ta bonté et ta fidélité veillent sur lui!

He shall be enthroned in God's presence forever. Appoint your loving kindness and truth, that they may preserve him.

8 Alors je chanterai sans cesse ton nom, En accomplissant chaque jour mes vœux.

So I will sing praise to your name forever, that I may fulfill my vows day after day.
