Psaumes 135
1 Louez l’Éternel! Louez le nom de l’Éternel, Louez-le, serviteurs de l’Éternel,
Hallelujah. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord;
2 Qui vous tenez dans la maison de l’Éternel, Dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu!
Ye that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Louez l’Éternel! Car l’Éternel est bon. Chantez à son nom! Car il est favorable.
Hallelujah; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is lovely.
4 Car l’Éternel s’est choisi Jacob, Israël, pour qu’il lui appartînt.
For Jacob hath the Lord chosen unto himself, Israel, as his peculiar treasure.
5 Je sais que l’Éternel est grand, Et que notre Seigneur est au-dessus de tous les dieux.
For I well know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
6 Tout ce que l’Éternel veut, il le fait, Dans les cieux et sur la terre, Dans les mers et dans tous les abîmes.
Whatsoever the Lord willeth, hath he done in the heavens, and on the earth, in the seas, and in all the deeps.
7 Il fait monter les nuages des extrémités de la terre, Il produit les éclairs et la pluie, Il tire le vent de ses trésors.
He causeth clouds to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with the rain; he bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.
8 Il frappa les premiers-nés de l’Égypte, Depuis les hommes jusqu’aux animaux.
[He it is] who smote the first-born of Egypt, both of man and of cattle;
9 Il envoya des signes et des miracles au milieu de toi, Égypte! Contre Pharaon et contre tous ses serviteurs.
Who sent signs and wonderful tokens into the midst of thee, O Egypt, against Pharaoh, and against all his servants;
10 Il frappa des nations nombreuses, Et tua des rois puissants,
Who smote many nations, and slew mighty kings;
11 Sihon, roi des Amoréens, Og, roi de Basan, Et tous les rois de Canaan;
Sichon the king of the Emorites, and 'Og the king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
12 Et il donna leur pays en héritage, En héritage à Israël, son peuple.
And gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance unto Israel his people.
13 Éternel! Ton nom subsiste à toujours, Éternel! ta mémoire dure de génération en génération.
O Lord, thy name [endureth] for ever: O Lord, thy memorial is throughout all generations.
14 Car l’Éternel jugera son peuple, Et il aura pitié de ses serviteurs.
For the Lord will espouse the cause of his people, and concerning his servants will he bethink himself.
15 Les idoles des nations sont de l’argent et de l’or, Elles sont l’ouvrage de la main des hommes.
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of the hands of men.
16 Elles ont une bouche et ne parlent point, Elles ont des yeux et ne voient point,
Mouths they have, but they speak not; eyes they have, but they see not;
17 Elles ont des oreilles et n’entendent point, Elles n’ont point de souffle dans leur bouche.
Ears they have, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouth.
18 Ils leur ressemblent, ceux qui les fabriquent, Tous ceux qui se confient en elles.
Like them are those that make them, every one that trusteth in them.
19 Maison d’Israël, bénissez l’Éternel! Maison d’Aaron, bénissez l’Éternel!
O house of Israel, bless ye the Lord; O house of Aaron, bless ye the Lord.
20 Maison de Lévi, bénissez l’Éternel! Vous qui craignez l’Éternel, bénissez l’Éternel!
O house of Levi, bless ye the Lord; ye that fear the Lord, bless the Lord.
21 Que de Sion l’on bénisse l’Éternel, Qui habite à Jérusalem! Louez l’Éternel!
Blessed be the Lord out of Zion, even he that resideth at Jerusalem. Hallelujah.
