Psaumes 128

1 Cantique des degrés. Heureux tout homme qui craint l’Éternel, Qui marche dans ses voies!

(Happy are/Yahweh is pleased with) those of you who revere him and do what he wants you to do [IDM].

2 Tu jouis alors du travail de tes mains, Tu es heureux, tu prospères.

You will [be able to earn the money] that you [MTY] need to buy food; you will be happy and you will be prosperous.

3 Ta femme est comme une vigne féconde Dans l’intérieur de ta maison; Tes fils sont comme des plants d’olivier, Autour de ta table.

Your wife will be like a grapevine that bears many grapes [SIM]; she will give birth to many children. Your children who sit around your table will be like a strong olive [tree that has many] shoots [growing up around it] [SIM].

4 C’est ainsi qu’est béni L’homme qui craint l’Éternel.

Every man who reveres Yahweh will be blessed like that.

5 L’Éternel te bénira de Sion, Et tu verras le bonheur de Jérusalem Tous les jours de ta vie;

I wish/hope that Yahweh will bless all of you from [where he dwells] (on Zion [Hill]/[in Jerusalem]) and that you will see [the people of] Jerusalem prospering every day that you live!

6 Tu verras les fils de tes fils. Que la paix soit sur Israël!

I desire that you will live many years, long enough to see your grandchildren. I desire/hope that things will go well for [the people in] Israel!
