Psaumes 119
1 Heureux ceux qui sont intègres dans leur voie, Qui marchent selon la loi de l’Éternel!
Alleluia. Blessed are the blameless in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
2 Heureux ceux qui gardent ses préceptes, Qui le cherchent de tout leur cœur,
Blessed are they that search out his testimonies: they will diligently seek him with the whole heart.
3 Qui ne commettent point d’iniquité, Et qui marchent dans ses voies!
For they that work iniquity have not walked in his ways.
4 Tu as prescrit tes ordonnances, Pour qu’on les observe avec soin.
Thou hast commanded [us] diligently to keep thy precepts.
5 Puissent mes actions être bien réglées, Afin que je garde tes statuts!
O that my ways were directed to keep thine ordinances.
6 Alors je ne rougirai point, A la vue de tous tes commandements.
Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect to all thy commandments.
7 Je te louerai dans la droiture de mon cœur, En apprenant les lois de ta justice.
I will give thee thanks with uprightness of heart, when I have learnt the judgments of thy righteousness.
8 Je veux garder tes statuts: Ne m’abandonne pas entièrement!
I will keep thine ordinances: O forsake me not greatly.
9 Comment le jeune homme rendra-t-il pur son sentier? En se dirigeant d’après ta parole.
Wherewith shall a young man direct his way? by keeping thy words.
10 Je te cherche de tout mon cœur: Ne me laisse pas égarer loin de tes commandements!
With my whole heart have I diligently sought thee: cast me not away from thy commandments.
11 Je serre ta parole dans mon cœur, Afin de ne pas pécher contre toi.
I have hidden thine oracles in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Béni sois-tu, ô Éternel! Enseigne-moi tes statuts!
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thine ordinances.
13 De mes lèvres j’énumère Toutes les sentences de ta bouche.
With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 Je me réjouis en suivant tes préceptes, Comme si je possédais tous les trésors.
I have delighted in the way of thy testimonies, [as much] as in all riches.
15 Je médite tes ordonnances, J’ai tes sentiers sous les yeux.
I will meditate on thy commandments, and consider thy ways.
16 Je fais mes délices de tes statuts, Je n’oublie point ta parole.
I will meditate on thine ordinances: I will not forget thy words.
17 Fais du bien à ton serviteur, pour que je vive Et que j’observe ta parole!
Render a recompense to thy servant: [so] shall I live, and keep thy words.
18 Ouvre mes yeux, pour que je contemple Les merveilles de ta loi!
Unveil thou mine eyes, and I shall perceive wondrous things of thy law.
19 Je suis un étranger sur la terre: Ne me cache pas tes commandements!
I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
20 Mon âme est brisée par le désir Qui toujours la porte vers tes lois.
My soul has longed exceedingly for thy judgments at all times.
21 Tu menaces les orgueilleux, ces maudits, Qui s’égarent loin de tes commandements.
Thou has rebuked the proud: cursed are they that turn aside from thy commandments.
22 Décharge-moi de l’opprobre et du mépris! Car j’observe tes préceptes.
Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have sought out thy testimonies.
23 Des princes ont beau s’asseoir et parler contre moi, Ton serviteur médite tes statuts.
For princes sat and spoke against me: but thy servant was meditating on thine ordinances.
24 Tes préceptes font mes délices, Ce sont mes conseillers.
For thy testimonies are my (meditation) and thine ordinances are my counsellors.
25 Mon âme est attachée à la poussière: Rends-moi la vie selon ta parole!
My soul has cleaved to the ground; quicken thou me according to thy word.
26 Je raconte mes voies, et tu m’exauces: Enseigne-moi tes statuts!
I declared my ways, and thou didst hear me: teach me thine ordinances.
27 Fais-moi comprendre la voie de tes ordonnances, Et je méditerai sur tes merveilles!
Instruct me in the way of thine ordinances; and I will meditate on thy wondrous works.
28 Mon âme pleure de chagrin: Relève-moi selon ta parole!
My soul has slumbered for sorrow; strengthen thou me with thy words.
29 Éloigne de moi la voie du mensonge, Et accorde-moi la grâce de suivre ta loi!
Remove from me the way of iniquity; and be merciful to me by thy law.
30 Je choisis la voie de la vérité, Je place tes lois sous mes yeux.
I have chosen the way of truth; and have not forgotten thy judgments.
31 Je m’attache à tes préceptes: Éternel, ne me rends point confus!
I have cleaved to thy testimonies, O Lord; put me not to shame.
32 Je cours dans la voie de tes commandements, Car tu élargis mon cœur.
I ran the way of thy commandments, when thou didst enlarge my heart.
33 Enseigne-moi, Éternel, la voie de tes statuts, Pour que je la retienne jusqu’à la fin!
Teach me, O Lord, the way of thine ordinances, and I will seek it out continually.
34 Donne-moi l’intelligence, pour que je garde ta loi Et que je l’observe de tout mon cœur!
Instruct me, and I will search out thy law, and will keep it with my whole heart.
35 Conduis-moi dans le sentier de tes commandements! Car je l’aime.
Guide me in the path of thy commandments; for I have delighted in it.
36 Incline mon cœur vers tes préceptes, Et non vers le gain!
Incline mine heart to thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.
37 Détourne mes yeux de la vue des choses vaines, Fais-moi vivre dans ta voie!
Turn away mine eyes that I may not behold vanity: quicken thou me in thy way.
38 Accomplis envers ton serviteur ta promesse, Qui est pour ceux qui te craignent!
Confirm thine oracle to thy servant, that he may fear thee.
39 Éloigne de moi l’opprobre que je redoute! Car tes jugements sont pleins de bonté.
Take away my reproach which I have feared: for thy judgments are good.
40 Voici, je désire pratiquer tes ordonnances: Fais-moi vivre dans ta justice!
Behold, I have desired thy commandments: quicken me in thy righteousness.
41 Éternel, que ta miséricorde vienne sur moi, Ton salut selon ta promesse!
And let thy mercy come upon me, O Lord; [even] thy salvation, according to thy word.
42 Et je pourrai répondre à celui qui m’outrage, Car je me confie en ta parole.
And [so] I shall render an answer to them that reproach me: for I have trusted in thy words.
43 N’ôte pas entièrement de ma bouche la parole de la vérité! Car j’espère en tes jugements.
And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments. So shall I keep thy law continually, for ever and ever.
44 Je garderai ta loi constamment, A toujours et à perpétuité.
45 Je marcherai au large, Car je recherche tes ordonnances.
I walked also at large: for I sought out thy commandments.
46 Je parlerai de tes préceptes devant les rois, Et je ne rougirai point.
And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings, and was not ashamed.
47 Je fais mes délices de tes commandements. Je les aime.
And I meditated on thy commandments, which I loved exceedingly.
48 Je lève mes mains vers tes commandements que j’aime, Et je veux méditer tes statuts.
And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments which I loved; and I meditated in thine ordinances.
49 Souviens-toi de ta promesse à ton serviteur, Puisque tu m’as donné l’espérance!
Remember thy words to thy servant, wherein thou hast made me hope.
50 C’est ma consolation dans ma misère, Car ta promesse me rend la vie.
This has comforted me in mine affliction: for thine oracle has quickened me.
51 Des orgueilleux me chargent de railleries; Je ne m’écarte point de ta loi.
The proud have transgressed exceedingly; but I swerved not from thy law.
52 Je pense à tes jugements d’autrefois, ô Éternel! Et je me console.
I remembered thy judgments of old, O Lord; and was comforted.
53 Une colère ardente me saisit à la vue des méchants Qui abandonnent ta loi.
Despair took hold upon me, because of the sinners who forsake thy law.
54 Tes statuts sont le sujet de mes cantiques, Dans la maison où je suis étranger.
Thine ordinances were my songs in the place of my sojourning.
55 La nuit je me rappelle ton nom, ô Éternel! Et je garde ta loi.
I remembered thy name, O Lord, in the night, and kept thy law.
56 C’est là ce qui m’est propre, Car j’observe tes ordonnances.
This I had, because I diligently sought thine ordinances.
57 Ma part, ô Éternel! Je le dis, C’est de garder tes paroles.
Thou art my portion, O Lord: I said that I would keep thy law.
58 Je t’implore de tout mon cœur: Aie pitié de moi, selon ta promesse!
I besought thy favour with my whole heart: have mercy upon me according to thy word.
59 Je réfléchis à mes voies, Et je dirige mes pieds vers tes préceptes.
I thought on thy ways, and turned my feet to thy testimonies.
60 Je me hâte, je ne diffère point D’observer tes commandements.
I prepared myself, (and was not terrified, ) to keep thy commandments.
61 Les pièges des méchants m’environnent; Je n’oublie point ta loi.
The snares of sinners entangled me: but I forgot not thy law.
62 Au milieu de la nuit je me lève pour te louer, A cause des jugements de ta justice.
At midnight I arose, to give thanks to thee for the judgments of thy righteousness.
63 Je suis l’ami de tous ceux qui te craignent, Et de ceux qui gardent tes ordonnances.
I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy commandments.
64 La terre, ô Éternel! Est pleine de ta bonté; Enseigne-moi tes statuts!
O Lord, the earth is full of thy mercy: teach me thine ordinances.
65 Tu fais du bien à ton serviteur, O Éternel! Selon ta promesse.
Thou hast wrought kindly with thy servant, o Lord, according to thy word.
66 Enseigne-moi le bon sens et l’intelligence! Car je crois à tes commandements.
Teach me kindness, and instruction, and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
67 Avant d’avoir été humilié, je m’égarais; Maintenant j’observe ta parole.
Before I was afflicted, I transgressed; therefore have I kept thy word.
68 Tu es bon et bienfaisant; Enseigne-moi tes statuts!
Good art thou, O Lord; therefore in thy goodness teach me thine ordinances.
69 Des orgueilleux imaginent contre moi des faussetés; Moi, je garde de tout mon cœur tes ordonnances.
The injustice of the proud has been multiplied against me: but I will search out thy commandments with all my heart.
70 Leur cœur est insensible comme la graisse; Moi, je fais mes délices de ta loi.
Their heart has been curdled like milk; but I have meditated on thy law.
71 Il m’est bon d’être humilié, Afin que j’apprenne tes statuts.
[It is] good for me that thou hast afflicted me; that I might learn thine ordinances.
72 Mieux vaut pour moi la loi de ta bouche Que mille objets d’or et d’argent.
The law of thy mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver.
73 Tes mains m’ont créé, elles m’ont formé; Donne-moi l’intelligence, pour que j’apprenne tes commandements!
Thy hands have made me, and fashioned me: instruct me, that I may learn thy commandments.
74 Ceux qui te craignent me voient et se réjouissent, Car j’espère en tes promesses.
They that fear thee will see me and rejoice: for I have hoped in thy words.
75 Je sais, ô Éternel! Que tes jugements sont justes; C’est par fidélité que tu m’as humilié.
I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are righteousness, and [that] thou in truthfulness hast afflicted me.
76 Que ta bonté soit ma consolation, Comme tu l’as promis à ton serviteur!
Let, I pray thee, thy mercy be to comfort me, according to thy word to thy servant.
77 Que tes compassions viennent sur moi, pour que je vive! Car ta loi fait mes délices.
Let thy compassions come to me, that I may live: for thy law is my (meditation)
78 Qu’ils soient confondus, les orgueilleux qui m’oppriment sans cause! Moi, je médite sur tes ordonnances.
Let the proud be ashamed; for they transgressed against me unjustly: but I will meditate in thy commandments.
79 Qu’ils reviennent à moi, ceux qui te craignent, Et ceux qui connaissent tes préceptes!
Let those that fear thee, and those that know thy testimonies, turn to me.
80 Que mon cœur soit sincère dans tes statuts, Afin que je ne sois pas couvert de honte!
Let mine heart be blameless in thine ordinances, that I may not be ashamed.
81 Mon âme languit après ton salut; J’espère en ta promesse.
My soul faints for thy salvation: I have hoped in thy words.
82 Mes yeux languissent après ta promesse; Je dis: Quand me consoleras-tu?
Mine eyes failed [in waiting] for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?
83 Car je suis comme une outre dans la fumée; Je n’oublie point tes statuts.
For I am become as a bottle in the frost: [yet] I have not forgotten thine ordinances.
84 Quel est le nombre des jours de ton serviteur? Quand feras-tu justice de ceux qui me persécutent?
How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment for me on them that persecute me?
85 Des orgueilleux creusent des fosses devant moi; Ils n’agissent point selon ta loi.
Transgressors told me [idle tales]; but not according to thy law, O Lord.
86 Tous tes commandements ne sont que fidélité; Ils me persécutent sans cause: secours-moi!
All thy commandments are truth; they persecuted me unjustly; help thou me.
87 Ils ont failli me terrasser et m’anéantir; Et moi, je n’abandonne point tes ordonnances.
They nearly made an end of me in the earth; but I forsook not thy commandments.
88 Rends-moi la vie selon ta bonté, Afin que j’observe les préceptes de ta bouche!
Quicken me according to thy mercy; so shall I keep the testimonies of thy mouth.
89 A toujours, ô Éternel! Ta parole subsiste dans les cieux.
Thy word, O Lord, abides in heaven for ever.
90 De génération en génération ta fidélité subsiste; Tu as fondé la terre, et elle demeure ferme.
Thy truth [endures] to all generations; thou hast founded the earth, and it abides.
91 C’est d’après tes lois que tout subsiste aujourd’hui, Car toutes choses te sont assujetties.
The day continues by thy arrangement; for all things are thy servants.
92 Si ta loi n’eût fait mes délices, J’eusse alors péri dans ma misère.
Were it not that thy law is my (meditation) then I should have perished in mine affliction.
93 Je n’oublierai jamais tes ordonnances, Car c’est par elles que tu me rends la vie.
I will never forget thine ordinances; for with them thou hast quickened me.
94 Je suis à toi: sauve-moi! Car je recherche tes ordonnances.
I am thine, save me; for I have sought out thine ordinances.
95 Des méchants m’attendent pour me faire périr; Je suis attentif à tes préceptes.
Sinners laid wait for me to destroy me; [but] I understood thy testimonies.
96 Je vois des bornes à tout ce qui est parfait: Tes commandements n’ont point de limite.
have seen an end of all perfection; [but] thy commandment is very broad.
97 Combien j’aime ta loi! Elle est tout le jour l’objet de ma méditation.
How I have loved thy law, O Lord! it is my meditation all the day.
98 Tes commandements me rendent plus sage que mes ennemis, Car je les ai toujours avec moi.
Thou hast made me wiser than mine enemies [in] thy commandment; for it is mine for ever.
99 Je suis plus instruit que tous mes maîtres, Car tes préceptes sont l’objet de ma méditation.
I have more understanding than all my teachers; for thy testimonies are my medication.
100 J’ai plus d’intelligence que les vieillards, Car j’observe tes ordonnances.
I understand more that the aged; because I have sought out thy commandments.
101 Je retiens mon pied loin de tout mauvais chemin, Afin de garder ta parole.
I have kept back my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy words.
102 Je ne m’écarte pas de tes lois, Car c’est toi qui m’enseignes.
I have not declined from thy judgments; for thou hast instructed me.
103 Que tes paroles sont douces à mon palais, Plus que le miel à ma bouche!
How sweet are thine oracles to my throat! more so than honey to my mouth!
104 Par tes ordonnances je deviens intelligent, Aussi je hais toute voie de mensonge.
I gain understanding by thy commandments: therefore I have hated every way of unrighteousness.
105 Ta parole est une lampe à mes pieds, Et une lumière sur mon sentier.
Thy law is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths.
106 Je jure, et je le tiendrai, D’observer les lois de ta justice.
I have sworn and determined to keep the judgments of thy righteousness.
107 Je suis bien humilié: Éternel, rends-moi la vie selon ta parole!
I have been very greatly afflicted, O Lord: quicken me, according to thy word.
108 Agrée, ô Éternel! Les sentiments que ma bouche exprime, Et enseigne-moi tes lois!
Accept, I pray thee, O Lord, the freewill-offerings of my mouth, and teach me thy judgments.
109 Ma vie est continuellement exposée, Et je n’oublie point ta loi.
My soul is continually in thine hands; and I have not forgotten thy law.
110 Des méchants me tendent des pièges, Et je ne m’égare pas loin de tes ordonnances.
Sinners spread a snare for me; but I erred not from thy commandments.
111 Tes préceptes sont pour toujours mon héritage, Car ils sont la joie de mon cœur.
I have inherited thy testimonies for ever; for they are the joy of my heart.
112 J’incline mon cœur à pratiquer tes statuts, Toujours, jusqu’à la fin.
I have inclined my heart to perform thine ordinances for ever, in return [for thy mercies].
113 Je hais les hommes indécis, Et j’aime ta loi.
I have hated transgressors; but I have loved thy law.
114 Tu es mon asile et mon bouclier; J’espère en ta promesse.
Thou art my helper and my supporter; I have hoped in thy words.
115 Éloignez-vous de moi, méchants, Afin que j’observe les commandements de mon Dieu!
Depart from me, ye evil-doers; for I will search out the commandments of my God.
116 Soutiens-moi selon ta promesse, afin que je vive, Et ne me rends point confus dans mon espérance!
Uphold me according to thy word, and quicken me; and make me not ashamed of my expectation.
117 Sois mon appui, pour que je sois sauvé, Et que je m’occupe sans cesse de tes statuts!
Help me, and I shall be saved; and I will meditate in thine ordinances continually.
118 Tu méprises tous ceux qui s’écartent de tes statuts, Car leur tromperie est sans effet.
Thou hast brought to nought all that depart from thine ordinances; for their inward thought is unrighteous.
119 Tu enlèves comme de l’écume tous les méchants de la terre; C’est pourquoi j’aime tes préceptes.
I have reckoned all the sinners of the earth as transgressors; therefore have I loved thy testimonies.
120 Ma chair frissonne de l’effroi que tu m’inspires, Et je crains tes jugements.
Penetrate my flesh with thy fear; for I am afraid of thy judgments.
121 J’observe la loi et la justice: Ne m’abandonne pas à mes oppresseurs!
I have done judgment and justice; deliver me not up to them that injure me.
122 Prends sous ta garantie le bien de ton serviteur, Ne me laisse pas opprimer par des orgueilleux!
Receive thy servant for good: let not the proud accuse me falsely.
123 Mes yeux languissent après ton salut, Et après la promesse de ta justice.
Mine eyes have failed for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.
124 Agis envers ton serviteur selon ta bonté, Et enseigne-moi tes statuts!
Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy, and teach me thine ordinances.
125 Je suis ton serviteur: donne-moi l’intelligence, Pour que je connaisse tes préceptes!
I am thy servant; instruct me, and I shall know thy testimonies.
126 Il est temps que l’Éternel agisse: Ils transgressent ta loi.
[It is] time for the Lord to work: they have utterly broken thy law.
127 C’est pourquoi j’aime tes commandements, Plus que l’or et que l’or fin;
Therefore have I loved thy commandments more than gold, or the topaz.
128 C’est pourquoi je trouve justes toutes tes ordonnances, Je hais toute voie de mensonge.
Therefore I directed myself [according] to all thy commandments: I have hated every unjust way.
129 Tes préceptes sont admirables: Aussi mon âme les observe.
Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore my soul has sought them out.
130 La révélation de tes paroles éclaire, Elle donne de l’intelligence aux simples.
The manifestation of thy words will enlighten, and instruct the simple.
131 J’ouvre la bouche et je soupire, Car je suis avide de tes commandements.
I opened my mouth, and drew breath: for I earnestly longed after thy commandments.
132 Tourne vers moi ta face, et aie pitié de moi, Selon ta coutume à l’égard de ceux qui aiment ton nom!
Look upon me and have mercy upon me, after the manner of them that love thy name.
133 Affermis mes pas dans ta parole, Et ne laisse aucune iniquité dominer sur moi!
Order my steps according to thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
134 Délivre-moi de l’oppression des hommes, Afin que je garde tes ordonnances!
Deliver me from the false accusation of men: so will I keep thy commandments.
135 Fais luire ta face sur ton serviteur, Et enseigne-moi tes statuts!
Cause thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thine ordinances.
136 Mes yeux répandent des torrents d’eaux, Parce qu’on n’observe point ta loi.
Mine eyes have been bathed in streams of water, because I kept not thy law.
137 Tu es juste, ô Éternel! Et tes jugements sont équitables;
Righteous art thou, O Lord, and upright are thy judgments.
138 Tu fondes tes préceptes sur la justice Et sur la plus grande fidélité.
Thou has commanded righteousness and perfect truth, [as] thy testimonies.
139 Mon zèle me consume, Parce que mes adversaires oublient tes paroles.
Thy zeal has quite wasted me: because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.
140 Ta parole est entièrement éprouvée, Et ton serviteur l’aime.
Thy word [has been] very fully tried; and thy servant loves it.
141 Je suis petit et méprisé; Je n’oublie point tes ordonnances.
I am young and despised: [yet] I have not forgotten thine ordinances.
142 Ta justice est une justice éternelle, Et ta loi est la vérité.
Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is truth.
143 La détresse et l’angoisse m’atteignent: Tes commandements font mes délices.
Afflictions and distresses found me: [but] thy commandments [were] my (meditation)
144 Tes préceptes sont éternellement justes: Donne-moi l’intelligence, pour que je vive!
Thy testimonies [are] an everlasting righteousness: instruct me, and I shall live.
145 Je t’invoque de tout mon cœur: exauce-moi, Éternel, Afin que je garde tes statuts!
I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O Lord: I will search out thine ordinances.
146 Je t’invoque: sauve-moi, Afin que j’observe tes préceptes!
I cried to thee; save me, and I will keep thy testimonies.
147 Je devance l’aurore et je crie; J’espère en tes promesses.
I arose before the dawn, and cried: I hoped in thy words.
148 Je devance les veilles et j’ouvre les yeux, Pour méditer ta parole.
Mine eyes prevented the dawn, that I might meditate on thine oracles.
149 Écoute ma voix selon ta bonté! Rends-moi la vie selon ton jugement!
Hear my voice, O Lord, according to thy mercy; quicken me according to thy judgment.
150 Ils s’approchent, ceux qui poursuivent le crime, Ils s’éloignent de la loi.
They have drawn nigh who persecuted me unlawfully; and they are far removed from thy law.
151 Tu es proche, ô Éternel! Et tous tes commandements sont la vérité.
Thou art near, O Lord; and all thy ways are truth.
152 Dès longtemps je sais par tes préceptes Que tu les as établis pour toujours.
I have known of old concerning thy testimonies, that thou hast founded them for ever.
153 Vois ma misère, et délivre-moi! Car je n’oublie point ta loi.
Look upon mine affliction, and rescue me; for I have not forgotten thy law.
154 Défends ma cause, et rachète-moi; Rends-moi la vie selon ta promesse!
Plead my cause, and ransom me: quicken me because of thy word.
155 Le salut est loin des méchants, Car ils ne recherchent pas tes statuts.
Salvation is far from sinners: for they have not searched out thine ordinances.
156 Tes compassions sont grandes, ô Éternel! Rends-moi la vie selon tes jugements!
Thy mercies, O Lord, are many: quicken me according to thy judgment.
157 Mes persécuteurs et mes adversaires sont nombreux; Je ne m’écarte point de tes préceptes,
Many are they that persecute me and oppress me: [but] I have not declined from thy testimonies.
158 Je vois avec dégoût des traîtres Qui n’observent pas ta parole.
I beheld men acting foolishly, and I pined away; for they kept not thine oracles.
159 Considère que j’aime tes ordonnances: Éternel, rends-moi la vie selon ta bonté!
Behold, I have loved thy commandments, O Lord: quicken me in thy mercy.
160 Le fondement de ta parole est la vérité, Et toutes les lois de ta justice sont éternelles.
The beginning of thy words is truth; and all the judgments of thy righteousness [endure] for ever.
161 Des princes me persécutent sans cause; Mais mon cœur ne tremble qu’à tes paroles.
Princes persecuted me without a cause, but my heart feared because of thy words.
162 Je me réjouis de ta parole, Comme celui qui trouve un grand butin.
I will exult because of thine oracles, as one that finds much spoil.
163 Je hais, je déteste le mensonge; J’aime ta loi.
I hate and abhor unrighteousness; but I love thy law.
164 Sept fois le jour je te célèbre, A cause des lois de ta justice.
Seven times in a day have I praised thee because of the judgments of thy righteousness.
165 Il y a beaucoup de paix pour ceux qui aiment ta loi, Et il ne leur arrive aucun malheur.
Great peace have they that love thy law: and there is no stumbling-block to them.
166 J’espère en ton salut, ô Éternel! Et je pratique tes commandements.
I waited for thy salvation, O Lord, and have loved thy commandments.
167 Mon âme observe tes préceptes, Et je les aime beaucoup.
My soul has kept thy testimonies, and loved them exceedingly.
168 Je garde tes ordonnances et tes préceptes, Car toutes mes voies sont devant toi.
I have kept thy commandments and thy testimonies; for all my ways are before thee, O Lord.
169 Que mon cri parvienne jusqu’à toi, ô Éternel! Donne-moi l’intelligence, selon ta promesse!
Let my supplication come near before thee, o Lord; instruct me according to thine oracle.
170 Que ma supplication arrive jusqu’à toi! Délivre-moi, selon ta promesse!
Let my petition come in before thee, O Lord; deliver me according to thine oracle.
171 Que mes lèvres publient ta louange! Car tu m’enseignes tes statuts.
Let my lips utter a hymn, when thou shalt have taught me thine ordinances.
172 Que ma langue chante ta parole! Car tous tes commandements sont justes.
Let my tongue utter thine oracles; for all thy commandments are righteous.
173 Que ta main me soit en aide! Car j’ai choisi tes ordonnances.
Let thine hand be [prompt] to save me; for I have chosen thy commandments.
174 Je soupire après ton salut, ô Éternel! Et ta loi fait mes délices.
I have longed after thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my (meditation)
175 Que mon âme vive et qu’elle te loue! Et que tes jugements me soutiennent!
My soul shall live, and shall praise thee; and thy judgments shall help me.
176 Je suis errant comme une brebis perdue: cherche ton serviteur, Car je n’oublie point tes commandements.
I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I have not forgotten thy commandments.
