Psaumes 108

1 Cantique. Psaume de David. Mon cœur est affermi, ô Dieu! Je chanterai, je ferai retentir mes instruments: c’est ma gloire!

My heart is fixed, O God, I will sing, yea, I will sing praises, even with my glory.

2 Réveillez-vous, mon luth et ma harpe! Je réveillerai l’aurore.

Awake, psaltery and harp. I myself will awake right early.

3 Je te louerai parmi les peuples, Éternel! Je te chanterai parmi les nations.

I will give thanks to thee, O Jehovah, among the peoples, and I will sing praises to thee among the nations.

4 Car ta bonté s’élève au-dessus des cieux, Et ta fidélité jusqu’aux nues.

For thy loving kindness is great above the heavens, and thy truth is to the skies.

5 Élève-toi sur les cieux, ô Dieu! Et que ta gloire soit sur toute la terre!

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory above all the earth.

6 Afin que tes bien-aimés soient délivrés, Sauve par ta droite, et exauce-nous!

That thy beloved may be delivered, save with thy right hand, and answer us.

7 Dieu a dit dans sa sainteté: Je triompherai, Je partagerai Sichem, je mesurerai la vallée de Succoth;

God has spoken in his holiness. I will exult. I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

8 A moi Galaad, à moi Manassé; Éphraïm est le rempart de ma tête, Et Juda, mon sceptre;

Gilead is mine. Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is the defense of my head. Judah is my scepter.

9 Moab est le bassin où je me lave; Je jette mon soulier sur Édom; Je pousse des cris de joie sur le pays des Philistins!

Moab is my wash pot. Upon Edom I will cast my shoe. Over Philistia I will shout.

10 Qui me mènera dans la ville forte? Qui me conduit à Édom?

Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who has led me to Edom?

11 N’est-ce pas toi, ô Dieu, qui nous as repoussés, Et qui ne sortais plus, ô Dieu, avec nos armées?

Have thou not cast us off, O God? And thou go not forth, O God, with our armies.

12 Donne-nous du secours contre la détresse! Le secours de l’homme n’est que vanité.

Give us help against the adversary, for vain is the help of man.

13 Avec Dieu, nous ferons des exploits; Il écrasera nos ennemis.

Through God we shall do valiantly, for he it is who will tread down our adversaries.
