Ézéchiel 32

1 La douzième année, le premier jour du douzième mois, la parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

And it came to pass, in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:

2 Fils de l’homme, Prononce une complainte sur Pharaon, roi d’Égypte! Tu lui diras: Tu ressemblais à un lionceau parmi les nations; Tu étais comme un crocodile dans les mers, Tu t’élançais dans tes fleuves, Tu troublais les eaux avec tes pieds, Tu agitais leurs flots.

Son of man Take up a dirge over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and thou shalt say unto him. The young lion of the nations, thou didst deem thyself, - Whereas thou, wast like the crocodile in the seas, And didst cause thy streams to burst forth And didst trouble the waters with thy feet, And foul their rivers.

3 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: J’étendrai sur toi mon rets, Dans une foule nombreuse de peuples, Et ils te tireront dans mon filet.

Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Therefore will I spread over thee my net, With a gathered host of many peoples, -And they shall bring thee up in my net;

4 Je te laisserai à terre, Je te jetterai sur la face des champs; Je ferai reposer sur toi tous les oiseaux du ciel, Et je rassasierai de toi les bêtes de toute la terre.

And I will stretch thee out on the land, Over the face of the field, will I fling thee, - And will cause to settle upon thee all the birds of the heavens, And will satiate with thee the wild beasts of all the earth;

5 Je mettrai ta chair sur les montagnes, Et je remplirai les vallées de tes débris;

And I will lay thy flesh on the mountains, — And fill the valleys, with thy blood;

6 J’arroserai de ton sang le pays où tu nages, Jusqu’aux montagnes, Et les ravins seront remplis de toi.

And will soak the earth with thy blood, amongst the mountains, - And the channels shall be filled with thee.

7 Quand je t’éteindrai, je voilerai les cieux Et j’obscurcirai leurs étoiles, Je couvrirai le soleil de nuages, Et la lune ne donnera plus sa lumière.

And when I quench thee, I will cover the heavens, And obscure their stars, — The sun—with a cloud, will I cover, And the moon shall not shed her light;

8 J’obscurcirai à cause de toi tous les luminaires des cieux, Et je répandrai les ténèbres sur ton pays, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

As for all the light-bearers in the heavens, I will obscure them over thee— And will stretch out darkness over thy land, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.

9 J’affligerai le cœur de beaucoup de peuples, Quand j’annoncerai ta ruine parmi les nations A des pays que tu ne connaissais pas.

And I will aggrieve the heart of many peoples, - when I bring them who are broken off from thee among the nations, unto lands which thou hast not known.

10 Je frapperai de stupeur beaucoup de peuples à cause de toi, Et leurs rois seront saisis d’épouvante à cause de toi, Quand j’agiterai mon épée devant leur face; Ils trembleront à tout instant chacun pour sa vie, Au jour de ta chute.

Yea I will cause amazement over thee unto many peoples And the hair of their kings shall stand on end over thee, when I brandish my sword over their faces, - And they shall tremble every moment every man for his own life, In the day of thy fall.

11 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: L’épée du roi de Babylone fondra sur toi.

For thus saith My Lord, Yahweh: -the sword of the king of Babylon shall reach thee.

12 Je ferai tomber ta multitude par l’épée de vaillants hommes, Tous les plus violents d’entre les peuples; Ils anéantiront l’orgueil de l’Égypte, Et toute sa multitude sera détruite.

With the swords of mighty men, will I cause thy multitude to fall, Terrible ones of the nations all of them!-And they shall spoil the pride of Egypt, And all her multitude shall be destroyed,

13 Je ferai périr tout son bétail près des grandes eaux; Le pied de l’homme ne les troublera plus, Le sabot des animaux ne les troublera plus.

And I will cause to perish all her beasts, from beside the many waters, — And the foot of man shall not trouble them any more, Nor shall hoof of beast, trouble them.

14 Alors je calmerai ses eaux, Et je ferai couler ses fleuves comme l’huile, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel

Then, will I make their waters subside, And, their streams—like oil, will I cause to flow, — Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.

15 Quand je ferai du pays d’Égypte une solitude, Et que le pays sera dépouillé de tout ce qu’il contient, Quand je frapperai tous ceux qui l’habitent, Ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel.

When I make the land of Egypt an astonishment A land laid bare of its fulness, When I cut off all that dwell therein, Then shall they know that, I am Yahweh.

16 C’est là une complainte, et on la dira; Les filles des nations diront cette complainte; Elles la prononceront sur l’Égypte et sur toute sa multitude, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

A dirge, it is And they shall chant it, The daughters of the nations Shall chant it: Over Egypt and over all her multitude, Shall they chant it, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.

17 La douzième année, le quinzième jour du mois, la parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

And it came to pass in the twelfth year on the fifteenth of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:

18 Fils de l’homme, Lamente-toi sur la multitude d’Égypte, et précipite-la, Elle et les filles des nations puissantes, Dans les profondeurs de la terre, Avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse!

Son of man Wail thou over the multitude of Egypt and cause it to descend—her and the daughters of the famous nations—into the earth below with them who descend into the pit.

19 Qui surpasses-tu en beauté? Descends, et couche-toi avec les incirconcis!

Than whom, art thou more precious? Descend and be laid low with the uncircumcised:

20 Ils tomberont au milieu de ceux qui sont morts par l’épée. Le glaive est donné: Entraînez l’Égypte et toute sa multitude!

Into the midst of them who were thrust through by the sword, let them fall, -To the sword, hath she been delivered up, Lay ye hold of her and all her multitudes.

21 Les puissants héros lui adresseront la parole Au sein du séjour des morts, Avec ceux qui étaient ses soutiens. Ils sont descendus, ils sont couchés, les incirconcis, Tués par l’épée. (Sheol h7585)

The chiefs of the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hades, with his helpers, - They have descended They have lain down. The uncircumcised! Thrust through by the sword. (Sheol h7585)

22 Là est l’Assyrien, avec toute sa multitude, Et ses sépulcres sont autour de lui; Tous sont morts, sont tombés par l’épée.

There, is Assyria with all her gathered host, Round about him, are his graves, All of them thrust through, The fallen by the sword:

23 Ses sépulcres sont dans les profondeurs de la fosse, Et sa multitude est autour de son sépulcre; Tous sont morts, sont tombés par l’épée; Eux qui répandaient la terreur dans le pays des vivants.

Whose graves have been set In the recesses of the pit, And so her gathered host is round about her grave, All of them thrust through. Fallen by the sword, Who caused terror in the land of the living.

24 Là est Élam, avec toute sa multitude, Autour est son sépulcre; Tous sont morts, sont tombés par l’épée; Ils sont descendus incirconcis dans les profondeurs de la terre, Eux qui répandaient la terreur dans le pays des vivants, Et ils ont porté leur ignominie vers ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.

There, is Persia with all her multitude, round about her grave, — All of them, thrust through The fallen by the sword Who have descended, uncircumcised into the earth below Who made themselves a terror in the land of the living, And so they have borne their confusion with them who descend into the pit:

25 On a fait sa couche parmi les morts avec toute sa multitude, Et ses sépulcres sont autour de lui; Tous ces incirconcis sont morts par l’épée, Car ils répandaient la terreur dans le pays des vivants, Et ils ont porté leur ignominie vers ceux qui descendent dans la fosse; Ils ont été placés parmi les morts.

In the midst of them who were thrust through, have they have placed a couch for her with all her multitude, Round about it, are her graves, -All of them, uncircumcised. Thrust through with the sword. For that their terror was caused in the land of the living. And so they have borne their confusion, with them who descend into the pit, In the midst of them who were thrust through, hath it been placed.

26 Là sont Méschec, Tubal, et toute leur multitude, Et leurs sépulcres sont autour d’eux; Tous ces incirconcis sont morts par l’épée, Car ils répandaient la terreur dans le pays des vivants.

There, are Meshech-Tuba and all her multitude, Round about it, are her graves, — All of them uncircumcised, Who were thrust through with the sword, For that they made themselves a terror in the land of the living;

27 Ils ne sont pas couchés avec les héros, Ceux qui sont tombés d’entre les incirconcis; Ils sont descendus au séjour des morts avec leurs armes de guerre, Ils ont mis leurs épées sous leurs têtes, Et leurs iniquités ont été sur leurs ossements; Car ils étaient la terreur des héros dans le pays des vivants. Therefore shall they not lie with the mighty men The fallen ones from age-past times, Who descended into hades with their weapons of war And their swords were placed under their heads. But their iniquities have come upon their bones Because of the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. (Sheol h7585)

28 Toi aussi, tu seras brisé au milieu des incirconcis; Tu seras couché avec ceux qui sont morts par l’épée.

Thou, therefore in the midst of the uncircumcised, shalt be overthrown. And shalt lie low with them who were thrust through by the sword.

29 Là sont Édom, ses rois et tous ses princes, Qui, malgré leur vaillance, ont été placés Avec ceux qui sont morts par l’épée; Ils sont couchés avec les incirconcis, Avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.

There, are Edom her kings and all her princes, Who have been delivered up in their might. With them who were thrust through by he sword, — They with the uncircumcised, shall lie low. Even with them who descend into the pit.

30 Là sont tous les princes du septentrion, et tous les Sidoniens, Qui sont descendus vers les morts, Confus, malgré la terreur qu’inspirait leur vaillance; Ces incirconcis sont couchés avec ceux qui sont morts par l’épée, Et ils ont porté leur ignominie vers ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.

There, are the princes of the North, all of them, and all the Zidonians, Who have descended with them who were thrust through. By reason of the terror they caused, of their might, are they ashamed, So they have lain down uncircumcised. With them who were thrust through by the sword, And they have bowed their confusion with them who descend into the pit.

31 Pharaon les verra, Et il se consolera au sujet de toute sa multitude, Des siens qui sont morts par l’épée et de toute son armée, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

Them, shall Pharaoh see, and be grieved over all his multitude, — Thrust through with the sword, shall be Pharaoh and all his army! Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.

32 Car je répandrai ma terreur dans le pays des vivants; Et ils seront couchés au milieu des incirconcis, Avec ceux qui sont morts par l’épée, Pharaon et toute sa multitude, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

For I have suffered his terror to be in the land of the living, Therefore shall be laid low In the midst of the uncircumcised With them who were thrust through by the sword, Pharaoh and all his multitude! Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
