1 Fils de Lévi: Guerschom, Kehath et Merari.

The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

2 Fils de Kehath: Amram, Jitsehar, Hébron et Uziel.

And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 Fils d’Amram: Aaron et Moïse; et Marie. Fils d’Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Éléazar et Ithamar.

And the sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

4 Éléazar engendra Phinées; Phinées engendra Abischua;

Eleazar was the father of Phinehas; Phinehas was the father of Abishua;

5 Abischua engendra Bukki; Bukki engendra Uzzi;

And Abishua was the father of Bukki, and Bukki was the father of Uzzi,

6 Uzzi engendra Zerachja; Zerachja engendra Merajoth;

And Uzzi was the father of Zerahiah, and Zerahiah was the father of Meraioth;

7 Merajoth engendra Amaria; Amaria engendra Achithub;

Meraioth was the father of Amariah, and Amariah was the father of Ahitub,

8 Achithub engendra Tsadok; Tsadok engendra Achimaats;

And Ahitub was the father of Zadok, and Zadok was the father of Ahimaaz,

9 Achimaats engendra Azaria; Azaria engendra Jochanan;

And Ahimaaz was the father of Azariah, and Azariah was the father of Johanan,

10 Jochanan engendra Azaria, qui exerça le sacerdoce dans la maison que Salomon bâtit à Jérusalem;

And Johanan was the father of Azariah, (he was priest in the house which Solomon put up in Jerusalem: )

11 Azaria engendra Amaria; Amaria engendra Achithub;

And Azariah was the father of Amariah, and Amariah was the father of Ahitub,

12 Achithub engendra Tsadok; Tsadok engendra Schallum;

And Ahitub was the father of Zadok, and Zadok was the father of Shallum,

13 Schallum engendra Hilkija; Hilkija engendra Azaria;

And Shallum was the father of Hilkiah, and Hilkiah was the father of Azariah,

14 et Azaria engendra Seraja; Seraja engendra Jehotsadak,

And Azariah was the father of Seraiah, and Seraiah was the father of Jehozadak;

15 Jehotsadak s’en alla quand l’Éternel emmena en captivité Juda et Jérusalem par Nebucadnetsar.

And Jehozadak went as a prisoner when the Lord took away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

16 Fils de Lévi: Guerschom, Kehath et Merari.

The sons of Levi; Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

17 Voici les noms des fils de Guerschom: Libni et Schimeï.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

18 Fils de Kehath: Amram, Jitsehar, Hébron et Uziel.

And the sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 Fils de Merari: Machli et Muschi. Ce sont là les familles de Lévi, selon leurs pères.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites listed by the names of their fathers.

20 De Guerschom: Libni, son fils; Jachath, son fils; Zimma, son fils;

Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

21 Joach, son fils; Iddo, son fils; Zérach, son fils; Jeathraï, son fils.

Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeatherai his son.

22 Fils de Kehath: Amminadab, son fils; Koré, son fils; Assir, son fils;

The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

23 Elkana, son fils; Ebjasaph, son fils; Assir, son fils;

Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son,

24 Thachath, son fils; Uriel, son fils; Ozias, son fils; Saül, son fils.

Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.

25 Fils d’Elkana: Amasaï et Achimoth;

And the sons of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth.

26 Elkana, son fils; Elkana Tsophaï, son fils; Nachath, son fils;

Elkanah his son: Zophai his son, and Nahath his son,

27 Éliab, son fils; Jerocham, son fils; Elkana, son fils;

Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son, Samuel his son.

28 et les fils de Samuel, le premier-né Vaschni et Abija.

And the sons of Samuel: the oldest Joel, and the second Abiah.

29 Fils de Merari: Machli; Libni, son fils; Schimeï, son fils; Uzza, son fils;

The sons of Merari: Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,

30 Schimea, son fils; Hagguija, son fils; Asaja, son fils.

Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

31 Voici ceux que David établit pour la direction du chant dans la maison de l’Éternel, depuis que l’arche eut un lieu de repos:

And these are those whom David made responsible for the music in the house of the Lord, after the ark had rest.

32 ils remplirent les fonctions de chantres devant le tabernacle, devant la tente d’assignation, jusqu’à ce que Salomon eût bâti la maison de l’Éternel à Jérusalem, et ils faisaient leur service d’après la règle qui leur était prescrite.

They gave worship with songs before the House of the Tent of meeting, till Solomon put up the house of the Lord in Jerusalem; and they took their places for their work in their regular order.

33 Voici ceux qui officiaient avec leurs fils. D’entre les fils des Kehathites: Héman, le chantre, fils de Joël, fils de Samuel,

And these are those who did this work, and their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman, who made melody, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

34 fils d’Elkana, fils de Jerocham, fils d’Éliel, fils de Thoach,

The son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

35 fils de Tsuph, fils d’Elkana, fils de Machath, fils d’Amasaï,

The son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

36 fils d’Elkana, fils de Joël, fils d’Azaria, fils de Sophonie,

The son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

37 fils de Thachath, fils d’Assir, fils d’Ebjasaph, fils de Koré,

The son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

38 fils de Jitsehar, fils de Kehath, fils de Lévi, fils d’Israël.

The son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

39 Son frère Asaph, qui se tenait à sa droite, Asaph, fils de Bérékia, fils de Schimea,

And his brother Asaph, whose place was at his right hand, Asaph, the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

40 fils de Micaël, fils de Baaséja, fils de Malkija,

The son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,

41 fils d’Éthni, fils de Zérach, fils d’Adaja,

The son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,

42 fils d’Éthan, fils de Zimma, fils de Schimeï,

The son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,

43 fils de Jachath, fils de Guerschom, fils de Lévi.

The son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

44 Fils de Merari, leurs frères, à la gauche; Éthan, fils de Kischi, fils d’Abdi, fils de Malluc,

And on the left their brothers, the sons of Merari: Ethan, the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

45 fils de Haschabia, fils d’Amatsia, fils de Hilkija,

The son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,

46 fils d’Amtsi, fils de Bani, fils de Schémer,

The son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,

47 fils de Machli, fils de Muschi, fils de Merari, fils de Lévi.

The son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48 Leurs frères, les Lévites, étaient chargés de tout le service du tabernacle, de la maison de Dieu.

And their brothers the Levites were responsible for all the work of the Tent of the house of God.

49 Aaron et ses fils offraient les sacrifices sur l’autel des holocaustes et l’encens sur l’autel des parfums, ils remplissaient toutes les fonctions dans le lieu très saint, et faisaient l’expiation pour Israël, selon tout ce qu’avait ordonné Moïse, serviteur de Dieu.

But Aaron and his sons made offerings on the altar of burned offering, and on the altar of perfume, for all the work of the most holy place, and to take away the sin of Israel, doing everything ordered by Moses, the servant of God.

50 Voici les fils d’Aaron: Éléazar, son fils; Phinées, son fils: Abischua, son fils;

And these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

51 Bukki, son fils; Uzzi, son fils; Zerachja, son fils;

Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

52 Merajoth, son fils; Amaria, son fils; Achithub, son fils;

Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,

53 Tsadok, son fils; Achimaats, son fils.

Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

54 Voici leurs habitations, selon leurs enclos, dans les limites qui leur furent assignées. Aux fils d’Aaron de la famille des Kehathites, indiqués les premiers par le sort,

Now these are their living-places, the limits inside which they were to put up their tents: to the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites, because they had the first selection,

55 on donna Hébron, dans le pays de Juda, et la banlieue qui l’entoure;

To them they gave Hebron and its outskirts in the land of Judah;

56 mais le territoire de la ville et ses villages furent accordés à Caleb, fils de Jephunné.

But the open country of the town, and the small places round it, they gave to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh.

57 Aux fils d’Aaron on donna la ville de refuge Hébron, Libna et sa banlieue, Jatthir, Eschthemoa et sa banlieue,

And to the sons of Aaron they gave Hebron, the town to which men might go in flight and be safe, and Libnah with its outskirts, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa with its outskirts,

58 Hilen et sa banlieue, Debir et sa banlieue,

And Hilen with its outskirts, Debir with its outskirts,

59 Aschan et sa banlieue, Beth-Schémesch et sa banlieue;

And Ashan with its outskirts, and Beth-shemesh with its outskirts;

60 et de la tribu de Benjamin, Guéba et sa banlieue, Allémeth et sa banlieue, Anathoth et sa banlieue. Total de leurs villes: treize villes, d’après leurs familles.

And from the tribe of Benjamin: Geba with its outskirts, and Alemeth with its outskirts, and Anathoth with its outskirts. All their towns among their families were thirteen towns.

61 Les autres fils de Kehath eurent par le sort dix villes des familles de la tribu d’Éphraïm, de la tribu de Dan et de la demi-tribu de Manassé.

And to the rest of the sons of Kohath there were given by the Lord's decision ten towns out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim and out of the tribe of Dan and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh.

62 Les fils de Guerschom, d’après leurs familles, eurent treize villes de la tribu d’Issacar, de la tribu d’Aser, de la tribu de Nephthali et de la tribu de Manassé en Basan.

And to the sons of Gershom, by their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen towns.

63 Les fils de Merari, d’après leurs familles, eurent par le sort douze villes de la tribu de Ruben, de la tribu de Gad et de la tribu de Zabulon.

And to the sons of Merari, by their families, twelve towns were given by the Lord's decision, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun.

64 Les enfants d’Israël donnèrent aux Lévites les villes et leurs banlieues.

And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the towns with their outskirts.

65 Ils donnèrent par le sort, de la tribu des fils de Juda, de la tribu des fils de Siméon et de la tribu des fils de Benjamin, ces villes qu’ils désignèrent nominativement.

And they gave by the Lord's decision out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these towns whose names are given.

66 Et pour les autres familles des fils de Kehath les villes de leur territoire furent de la tribu d’Éphraïm.

And to the families of the sons of Kohath were given towns by the Lord's decision out of the tribe of Ephraim.

67 Ils leur donnèrent la ville de refuge Sichem et sa banlieue, dans la montagne d’Éphraïm, Guézer et sa banlieue,

And they gave them the town to which men might go in flight and be safe, Shechem in the hill-country of Ephraim with its outskirts, and Gezer with its outskirts,

68 Jokmeam et sa banlieue, Beth-Horon et sa banlieue,

And Jokmeam with its outskirts, and Beth-horon with its outskirts,

69 Ajalon et sa banlieue, et Gath-Rimmon et sa banlieue;

And Aijalon with its outskirts, and Gath-rimmon with its outskirts;

70 et de la demi-tribu de Manassé, Aner et sa banlieue, et Bileam et sa banlieue, pour la famille des autres fils de Kehath.

And out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Aner with its outskirts, and Bileam with its outskirts, for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.

71 On donna aux fils de Guerschom: de la famille de la demi-tribu de Manassé, Golan en Basan et sa banlieue, et Aschtaroth et sa banlieue;

To the sons of Gershom were given, out of the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its outskirts, and Ashtaroth with its outskirts;

72 de la tribu d’Issacar, Kédesch et sa banlieue, Dobrath et sa banlieue,

And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh with its outskirts, and Daberath with its outskirts,

73 Ramoth et sa banlieue, et Anem et sa banlieue;

And Ramoth with its outskirts, and Anem with its outskirts;

74 de la tribu d’Aser, Maschal et sa banlieue, Abdon et sa banlieue,

And out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal with its outskirts, and Abdon with its outskirts,

75 Hukok et sa banlieue, et Rehob et sa banlieue;

And Hukok with its outskirts, and Rehob with its outskirts;

76 et de la tribu de Nephthali, Kédesch en Galilée et sa banlieue, Hammon et sa banlieue, et Kirjathaïm et sa banlieue.

And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its outskirts, and Hammon with its outskirts, and Kiriathaim with its outskirts.

77 On donna au reste des Lévites, aux fils de Merari: de la tribu de Zabulon, Rimmono et sa banlieue, et Thabor et sa banlieue;

To the rest of the Levites, the sons of Merari, were given, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono with its outskirts, Tabor with its outskirts;

78 et de l’autre côté du Jourdain, vis-à-vis de Jéricho, à l’orient du Jourdain: de la tribu de Ruben, Betser au désert et sa banlieue, Jahtsa et sa banlieue,

And on the other side of Jordan, at Jericho, on the east side of Jordan, were given them, out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the waste land with its outskirts, and Jahzah with its outskirts,

79 Kedémoth et sa banlieue, et Méphaath et sa banlieue;

And Kedemoth with its outskirts, and Mephaath with its outskirts;

80 et de la tribu de Gad, Ramoth en Galaad et sa banlieue, Mahanaïm et sa banlieue,

And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its outskirts, and Mahanaim with its outskirts,

81 Hesbon et sa banlieue, et Jaezer et sa banlieue.

And Heshbon with its outskirts, and Jazer with its outskirts.
