1 Chroniques 25

1 David et les chefs de l’armée mirent à part pour le service ceux des fils d’Asaph, d’Héman et de Jeduthun qui prophétisaient en s’accompagnant de la harpe, du luth et des cymbales. Et voici le nombre de ceux qui avaient des fonctions à remplir.

Moreover David and the chief. officers of the army separated for the ministry the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Idithun: to prophesy with harps, and with psalteries, and with cymbals according to their number serving in their appointed office.

2 Des fils d’Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethania et Aschareéla, fils d’Asaph, sous la direction d’Asaph qui prophétisait suivant les ordres du roi.

Of the sons of Asaph: Zacchur, and Joseph, and Nathania, and Asarela, sons of Asaph: under the hand of Asaph prophesying near the king.

3 De Jeduthun, les fils de Jeduthun: Guedalia, Tseri, Ésaïe, Haschabia, Matthithia et Schimeï, six, sous la direction de leur père Jeduthun qui prophétisait avec la harpe pour louer et célébrer l’Éternel.

And of Idithun: the sons of Idithun, Godolias, Serf, Jeseias, and Hasabias, and Mathathias, six, under the hand of their father Idithun, who prophesied with a harp to give thanks and to praise the Lord.

4 D’Héman, les fils d’Héman: Bukkija, Matthania, Uziel, Schebuel, Jerimoth, Hanania, Hanani, Éliatha, Guiddalthi, Romamthi-Ézer, Joschbekascha, Mallothi, Hothir, Machazioth,

Of Heman also: the sons of Heman, Bocciau, Mathaniau, Oziel, Subuel, and Jerimoth, Hananias, Hanani, Eliatha, Geddelthi, and Romemthiezer, and Jesbacassa, Mellothi, Othir, Mahazioth:

5 tous fils d’Héman, qui était voyant du roi pour révéler les paroles de Dieu et pour exalter sa puissance; Dieu avait donné à Héman quatorze fils et trois filles.

All these were the sons of Heman the seer of the king in the words of God, to lift up the horn: and God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6 Tous ceux-là étaient sous la direction de leurs pères, pour le chant de la maison de l’Éternel, et avaient des cymbales, des luths et des harpes pour le service de la maison de Dieu. Asaph, Jeduthun et Héman recevaient les ordres du roi.

All these under their father’s hand were distributed to sing in the temple of the Lord, with cymbals, and psalteries and harps, for the service of the house of the Lord near the king: to wit, Asaph, and Idithun, and Heman.

7 Ils étaient au nombre de deux cent quatre-vingt-huit, y compris leurs frères exercés au chant de l’Éternel, tous ceux qui étaient habiles.

And the number of them with their brethren, that taught the song of the Lord, all the teachers, were two hundred and eighty-eight,

8 Ils tirèrent au sort pour leurs fonctions, petits et grands, maîtres et disciples.

And they cast lots by their courses, the elder equally with the younger, the learned and the unlearned together.

9 Le premier sort échut, pour Asaph, à Joseph; le second, à Guedalia, lui, ses frères et ses fils, douze;

And the first lot came forth to Joseph, who was of Asaph. The second to Godolias, to him and his sons, and his brethren twelve.

10 le troisième, à Zaccur, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The third to Zachur, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

11 le quatrième, à Jitseri, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The fourth to Isari, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

12 le cinquième, à Nethania, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The fifth to Nathania, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

13 le sixième, à Bukkija, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The sixth to Bocciau, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

14 le septième, à Jesareéla, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The seventh to Isreela, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

15 le huitième, à Ésaïe, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The eighth to Jesaia, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

16 le neuvième, à Matthania, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The ninth to Mathanaias, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

17 le dixième, à Schimeï, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The tenth to Semeias, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

18 le onzième, à Azareel, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The eleventh to Azareel, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

19 le douzième, à Haschabia, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The twelfth to Hasabia, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

20 le treizième, à Schubaël, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The thirteenth to Subael, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

21 le quatorzième, à Matthithia, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The fourteenth to Mathathias, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

22 le quinzième, à Jerémoth, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The fifteenth to Jerimoth, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

23 le seizième, à Hanania, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The sixteenth to Hananias, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

24 le dix-septième, à Joschbekascha, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The seventeenth to Jesbacassa, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

25 le dix-huitième, à Hanani, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The eighteenth to Hanani, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

26 le dix-neuvième, à Mallothi, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The nineteenth to Mellothi, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

27 le vingtième, à Élijatha, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The twentieth to Eliatha, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

28 le vingt et unième, à Hothir, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The one and twentieth to Othir, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

29 le vingt-deuxième, à Guiddalthi, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The two and twentieth to Geddelthi, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

30 le vingt-troisième, à Machazioth, ses fils et ses frères, douze;

The three and twentieth to Mahazioth, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

31 le vingt-quatrième, à Romamthi-Ézer, ses fils et ses frères, douze.

The four and twentieth to Romemthiezer, to his sons and his brethren twelve.
