Zacharie 7
1 Et en la quatrième année du règne de Darius, le quatrième jour du neuvième mois de chaseleu, la parole du Seigneur vint à Zacharie.
And it came to pass, in the fourth year of Darius the king, that the word of Yahweh came unto Zechariah, on the fourth of the ninth month, in Chisleu;
2 Sarasar et Arbeséer, le roi et ses hommes, envoyèrent en Béthel pour prier le Seigneur;
yea when Bethel sent Sherezer and Regemmelech, and his men, —to pacify the face of Yahweh:
3 disant aux prêtres du temple du Seigneur tout-puissant et aux prophètes: Les saintes offrandes sont entrées ici le cinquième mois, comme il a déjà été fait en un grand nombre d'années.
to speak unto the priests that pertained to the house of Yahweh of hosts, and unto the prophets, saying, —Shall I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
4 Et la parole du Seigneur, Dieu des armées, vint à moi, disant:
Then came the word of Yahweh of hosts unto me, saying:
5 Parle à tout le peuple de la terre et aux prêtres, et dis-leur: Quand vous avez jeûné et pleuré les cinquième et septième mois de ces soixante-dix années, est-ce pour Moi que vous avez jeûné?
Speak thou unto all the people of the land, and unto the priests, saying, —When ye fasted and lamented in the fifth and in the seventh, even these seventy years, did ye, really fast, unto, me?
6 Et quand vous avez mangé et bu, n'est-ce pas pour vous que vous mangiez et buviez?
And, when ye used to eat and when ye used to drink, was it not, of your own accord, ye did eat, and, of your own accord, ye did drink?
7 N'est-ce point là ce que vous a dit le Seigneur, par les prophètes d'autrefois, lorsque Jérusalem était habitée et prospérait, ainsi que les villes d'alentour, et que les montagnes et la plaine regorgeaient d'habitants?
Should ye not [have been doing] the things which Yahweh, had proclaimed, by the hand of the former prophets, while yet Jerusalem was inhabited and in peace, with her cities round about her, —and the South and the Lowland were inhabited?
8 Et la parole du Seigneur vint à Zacharie, disant:
And the word of Yahweh came unto Zechariah, saying:
9 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, maître de toutes choses: Soyez justes quand vous jugez, et que chacun soit compatissant et miséricordieux envers son frère.
Thus, spake Yahweh of hosts, saying, —With true justice, give ye judgment, and, lovingkindness and compassions, observe ye, one with another;
10 Gardez-vous d'opprimer la veuve, l'orphelin, l'étranger, le pauvre; et ne conservez point en vos cœurs un mauvais souvenir des méchancetés de vos frères.
And, the widow and the fatherless, the sojourner and the humbled, do not ye oppress, —and, wickedness between one man and another, do not ye devise in your hearts.
11 Et ils ne le voulurent point entendre, et ils lui tournèrent le dos avec mépris, et pour ne point ouïr ils se bouchèrent les oreilles.
Howbeit they refused to give heed, but put forth a rebellious shoulder, —and, their ears, made they hard of hearing, that they might not hear;
12 Et ils se firent des cœurs désobéissants, au point d'être indociles à Ma loi et aux paroles que leur envoyait le Seigneur tout-puissant, par Son Esprit et par les prophètes d'autrefois. Et le Seigneur tout-puissant en eut un grand courroux.
and, their heart, turned they into adamant, that they might not hear the law, nor the words which Yahweh of hosts sent by his spirit, through the former prophets, —and so there came great wrath from Yahweh of hosts.
13 Or voici ce qui arrivera, dit le Seigneur tout-puissant: le Seigneur a parlé et ils n'ont point écouté; de même, quand ils crieront, Je ne les écouterai pas.
Therefore came it to pass that—just as he cried out and they hearkened not, so, used they to cry out, and I used not to hearken, saith Yahweh of hosts;
14 Et Je les chasserai; et Je les disperserai parmi les nations qu'ils n'ont point connues; et derrière eux la terre sera dénuée d'allants et venants; et ils auront voué à la destruction une terre que J'avais choisie.
But I whirled them over all the nations whom they had not known, and, the land, was made desolate after them, that none passed through and returned, —Yea they made of a delightful land—a desolation.
