Zacharie 1
1 Le huitième mois de la seconde année; sous Darius; la parole du Seigneur vint à Zacharie; fils de Barachie; fils d'Addo; le prophète; disant:
In the eighth month of the second year of Darius' reign, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah son of Berechiah son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,
2 Le Seigneur a été transporté d'un grand courroux contre vos pères.
“Yahweh was exceedingly angry with your fathers!
3 Et tu diras au peuple: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur tout-puissant: Convertissez-vous à Moi; dit le Seigneur des armées, et Je reviendrai à vous, dit le Seigneur des armées.
Say to them, 'Yahweh of hosts says this: Turn to me!—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts— and I will return to you, says Yahweh of hosts.
4 Et ne soyez pas comme vos pères, à qui les prophètes d'autrefois firent des reproches, disant: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, Maître de toutes choses: Quittez vos mauvaises voies et vos œuvres criminelles; et ils n'écoutèrent pas, et ils ne s'empressèrent pas de M'obéir, dit le Seigneur.
Do not be like your fathers to whom the prophets cried out previously, saying, “Yahweh of hosts says this: Turn from your evil ways and wicked practices!” But they would not hear and did not pay attention to me—this is Yahweh's declaration.'
5 Où sont vos pères? Où sont les prophètes? Est-ce qu'ils vivront toujours?
Your fathers, where are they? Where are the prophets, are they here forever?
6 Accueillez donc Mes paroles et Mes ordonnances, et tout ce que par Mon Esprit J'ai intimé à Mes serviteurs les prophètes, qui ont repris vos pères; or ceux-ci ont répondu, et ont dit: le Seigneur nous a traités selon ce qu'Il avait résolu, et ainsi a-t-Il fait, à cause de nos voies et de nos œuvres.
But my words and my decrees that I commanded my servants the prophets, have they not overtaken your fathers? So they repented and said, 'Just as Yahweh of hosts planned to do to us what our ways and actions deserved, so he has dealt with us.'”
7 Le vingt-quatrième jour du onzième mois, celui du Sabbat, la deuxième année du règne de Darius, la parole du Seigneur vint à Zacharie, fils de Barachie, fils d'Addo, le prophète, disant:
On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius' reign, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah son of Berechiah son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,
8 J'ai eu la nuit une vision. Et voilà qu'un homme était monté sur un cheval fauve, et il se tenait entre des montagnes ombreuses, et il y avait derrière lui des chevaux roux, gris-pommelé, tachetés et blancs.
“I saw in the night, and, look! a man was riding on a red horse, and he was among the myrtle trees that are in the valley; and behind him there were red, reddish-brown, and white horses.”
9 Et je dis: Qui sont ceux-là, Seigneur? Et l'ange qui parlait avec moi me dit: Je te montrerai ce que c'est.
I said, “What are these things, Lord?” Then the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what these things are.”
10 Et l'homme qui se tenait debout entre les montagnes, parla, et il me dit: Ceux-là sont ceux que le Seigneur a envoyés pour aller par toute la terre.
Then the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are those Yahweh has sent out to roam throughout the earth.”
11 Et ils parlèrent à l'ange du Seigneur qui se tenait entre les montagnes, et ils dirent: Nous sommes allés par toute la terre, et voilà que toute la terre est habitée, et elle est en repos.
They answered the angel of Yahweh who stood among the myrtle trees; they said to him, “We have been roaming throughout the earth; see, all the earth sits still and is at rest.”
12 Et l'ange du Seigneur répondit: Seigneur tout-puissant, dit-il, jusques à quand seras-Tu sans miséricorde pour Jérusalem et pour les villes de Juda, que Tu as délaissées depuis soixante-dix ans?
Then the angel of Yahweh answered and said, “Yahweh of hosts, how long will you show no compassion to Jerusalem and to the cities of Judah, which you have been angry with these seventy years?”
13 Et le Seigneur tout-puissant répondit à l'ange qui parlait avec moi, et lui dit des paroles bonnes et consolantes;
Yahweh answered the angel who had talked with me, with good words, words of comfort.
14 et l'ange qui parlait avec moi me dit: Crie de toute ta force. Voilà ce que dit le Seigneur tout-puissant: Je suis pris d'un grand zèle pour Jérusalem et pour Sion;
So the angel who had talked with me said to me, “Call out and say, 'Yahweh of hosts says this: I have been jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great passion!
15 mais J'ai une grande colère contre les gentils qui se sont coalisés; car Me voyant un peu irrité contre elle, ils se sont coalisés pour lui faire du mal.
I am very angry with the nations that are at ease. When I was only a little angry with them, they made the disaster worse.
16 C'est pourquoi voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Je reviendrai à Jérusalem en Ma miséricorde, et Mon temple y sera réédifié, dit le Seigneur tout-puissant; et il étendra encore le cordeau sur Jérusalem.
Therefore Yahweh of hosts says this: I have returned to Jerusalem with mercies. My house will be built within her —this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts—and the measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem!'
17 Et l'ange qui parlait avec moi ajouta: Crie encore de toute ta force: Voilà ce que dit le Seigneur Tout-Puissant: Leurs villes seront de nouveau remplies de biens, et le Seigneur sera miséricordieux envers Sion, et Jérusalem sera Son élue.
Again call out, saying, 'Yahweh of hosts says this: My cities will once again overflow with goodness, and Yahweh will again comfort Zion, and he will once again choose Jerusalem.'”
18 Et je levai les yeux, et je regardai, et je vis quatre cornes.
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw four horns!
19 Et je dis à l'ange qui parlait avec moi: Qu'est cela, Seigneur? Et il me dit: Ce sont les cornes qui ont dispersé Juda, Israël et Jérusalem.
I spoke to the angel who talked with me, “What are these?” He answered me, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”
20 Et le Seigneur me montra quatre ouvriers.
Then Yahweh showed me four craftsmen.
21 Et je dis: Que vont faire ceux-ci? Et Il dit: Voilà les cornes qui ont dispersé Juda et brisé Israël, sans que nul ait levé la tête; or ceux-ci sont venus pour les aiguiser de leurs mains, et les quatre cornes sont les nations qui ont levé la corne contre la terre du Seigneur, pour disperser Mon peuple.
I said, “What are these people coming to do?” He answered, and said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no man would lift up his head. But the blacksmiths have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations that lifted up a horn against the land of Judah to scatter her.”
