Psaumes 9
1 Jusqu'à la Fin, un psaume de David, au sujet des secrets du Fils. Je te rendrai gloire, ô mon Dieu, de tout mon cœur; je raconterai tes merveilles.
To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David. I will praise [thee], O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
2 Je me réjouirai et je tressaillirai en toi; je chanterai ton nom, Dieu Très-Haut.
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
3 Parce que tu as réduit mes ennemis à tourner le dos; ils seront abattus et périront devant ta face.
When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
4 Car tu as jugé ma cause sur ton trône, ô toi qui juges selon la justice.
For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.
5 Tu as repris les nations, et l'impie a péri; tu as effacé leur nom à jamais pour tous les siècles des siècles.
Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.
6 Les glaives de l'ennemi ont été brisés pour toujours; et tu as détruit leur cité. Leur souvenir s'est éteint avec fracas.
O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.
7 Mais le Seigneur subsiste éternellement. Il a préparé son siège pour juger.
But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
8 Et il jugera lui-même toute la terre selon l'équité; il jugera les peuples selon la justice.
And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
9 Et le Seigneur s'est fait le refuge du pauvre, son défenseur en son affliction, au temps opportun.
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
10 Que ceux qui connaissent ton nom espèrent en toi, ô Seigneur; car tu n'as point délaissé ceux qui te cherchent.
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
11 Chantez un hymne au Seigneur, qui demeure en Sion; faites connaître aux Gentils les soins qui l'occupent.
Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
12 Car il s'est souvenu d'eux, quand il a recherché leur sang; il n'a point oublié la prière des pauvres.
When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.
13 Aie pitié de moi, Seigneur; vois mon humiliation causée par mes ennemis, toi qui m'as relevé des portes de la mort,
Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble [which I suffer] of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
14 Afin que j'annonce toutes tes louanges aux portes de la fille de Sion. Je me réjouirai dans le salut qui vient de toi.
That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.
15 Les nations ont été saisies par la mort, qu'elles avaient préparée; leur pied s'est pris dans le filet même qu'elles avaient tendu.
The heathen are sunk down in the pit [that] they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
16 On reconnaîtra le Seigneur à ses jugements; le pécheur est enlacé dans les œuvres de ses mains.
The LORD is known [by] the judgment [which] he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. (Higgaion, Selah)
17 Que les pécheurs soient précipités dans l'enfer, et toutes les nations qui oublient Dieu. (Sheol h7585)
The wicked shall be turned into hell, [and] all the nations that forget God. (Sheol h7585)
18 Car le mendiant ne sera pas toujours en oubli; la patience des pauvres ne sera point perdue pour toujours.
For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall [not] perish for ever.
19 Lève-toi, Seigneur, de peur que l'homme ne s'affermisse; que les nations soient jugées devant toi.
Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
20 Seigneur, mets sur eux un législateur; afin que les Gentils apprennent qu'ils sont hommes. (Changement de rythme.)
Put them in fear, O LORD: [that] the nations may know themselves [to be but] men. (Selah)
