Psaumes 84
1 Jusqu'à la Fin, sur les pressoirs, psaume des fils de Koré. Que tes tabernacles sont aimables. Seigneur, Dieu des armées!
“To the chief musician upon Gittith, by the sons of Korach, a psalm.” How lovely are thy dwelling-places, O Lord of hosts!
2 Mon âme succombe à désirer les parvis du Seigneur; mon cœur et ma chair ont tressailli dans le Dieu vivant.
My soul desired, yea, it also longed for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh shout with joy unto the living God.
3 Car le passereau a trouvé pour lui une demeure, et la tourterelle un nid où elle dépose sa couvée. Tes autels, Seigneur, Dieu des armées, ô mon roi, ô mon Dieu!
Even as the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young: —[have I found] thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
4 Heureux ceux qui demeurent en ta maison; ils te loueront dans tous les siècles des siècles.
Happy are they who dwell in thy house: they will be continually praising thee. (Selah)
5 Heureux l'homme dont l'aide vient de toi, Seigneur; il a disposé en son cœur des degrés pour monter
Happy is the man whose strong confidence is in thee, [all] whose heart reflecteth on the paths [of righteousness].
6 En la vallée des pleurs, au lieu que le Seigneur a établi.
Passing through the valley of weeping, they will change it into a spring: also the early rain covereth it with blessings.
7 Car le législateur leur donnera des bénédictions; ils iront de vertus en vertus, et le Dieu des dieux leur apparaîtra en Sion.
They go from strength to strength, each of them appeareth before God in Zion.
8 Seigneur, Dieu des armées, écoute ma prière; prête-moi l'oreille, Dieu de Jacob!
O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
9 Notre protecteur, ô mon Dieu, vois et regarde la face de ton Christ.
[Thou, ] our shield, behold, O God, and look upon the face of thy anointed.
10 Car un seul jour dans tes parvis est meilleur qu'un millier de jours; j'ai mieux aimé être humble dans la saison de Dieu que d'habiter sous les tentes des pécheurs;
For better is a day in thy courts than a thousand [elsewhere]: I would rather choose to wait at the threshold of the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 Parce que le Seigneur aime la miséricorde et la vérité; Dieu est le distributeur de la grâce et de la gloire.
For a sun and shield is the Lord God; grace and glory will the Lord give; he will not withhold any good from those that walk with integrity.
12 Dieu ne fera pas attendre ses biens à ceux qui marchent dans l'innocence; Seigneur, Dieu des armées, heureux l'homme qui espère en toi!
O Lord of hosts, happy is the man that trusteth in thee.
