1 Jusqu'à la Fin. Jusqu'à la Fin avec les hymnes, psaume d'Asaph, chant concernant les Assyriens. Dieu est connu en Judée; son nom est grand en Israël.
To the Chief Musician. With Stringed Instruments. A Melody of Asaph, a Song. God is, known in Judah, In Israel, great is his Name;
2 Et son lieu est dans la paix, et sa demeure est dans Sion.
Now hath come into Salem, his pavilion, And his dwelling-place into Zion.
3 C'est là qu'il a brisé la force des arcs, et les armures, et le glaive, et la guerre.
There, hath he broken in pieces the arrows of the bow, shield and sword, and battle. (Selah)
4 Tu éclaires merveilleusement du haut des montagnes éternelles.
Enveloped in light, thou, art more majestic than the mountains of prey.
5 Tous les insensés ont été troublés en leur cœur. Ils ont dormi leur sommeil, et tous les favoris de la richesse n'ont rien trouvé dans leurs mains.
The valiant of heart have become a spoil, They have slumbered their sleep, And none of the men of might have found their hands.
6 A tes approches, Dieu de Jacob, les cavaliers se sont endormis sur leurs chevaux.
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Stunned are the horsemen.
7 Tu es redoutable, et qui donc résisterait à ta colère?
As for thee, to be feared thou art! Who then shall stand before thee, because of the power of thine anger?
8 Du haut du ciel tu as fait entendre ton jugement; la terre a eu peur, et s'est tenue en repos,
Out of the heavens, didst thou cause judgment to be heard, Earth, feared and was still:
9 Lorsque Dieu s'est levé pour juger et pour sauver les doux en leur cœur.
When God rose up to judgment, To save all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)
10 La pensée de l'homme te rendra grâces, et le mémorial de cette pensée te fêtera.
For the multitude of mankind shall give thanks unto thee, The remainder of the multitude, shall keep holy festival unto thee.
11 Faites des vœux à Dieu notre Seigneur, et accomplissez-les; tous ceux qui se rassemblent autour de lui feront des offrandes au Dieu terrible,
Vow and pay, unto Yahweh your God, —Let, all who are round about him, bear along a gift unto him who is to be revered.
12 A celui qui ôte l'esprit aux princes et qui est terrible aux rois de la terre.
He cutteth off the spirit of nobles, he is of reverend majesty to the kings of the earth.
