Psaumes 71
1 De David, un psaume chanté par les fils de Jonadab et les chefs lorsqu'ils étaient prisonniers. Seigneur, j'ai espéré en toi; que je ne sois pas confondu à jamais.
In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be made ashamed.
2 Dans ta justice défends-moi, et délivre-moi; incline vers moi ton oreille, et sauve-moi.
In thy righteousness do thou deliver me and release me: incline thy ear unto me, and save me.
3 Sois pour moi un Dieu protecteur et une place fortifiée, afin de me sauver; car tu es mon appui et mon refuge.
Be thou unto me a rocky habitation, whereunto I may continually resort, which thou hast ordained to save me; for my rock and my strong-hold art thou.
4 Mon Dieu, tire-moi de la main du pécheur, de celle du pervers et du méchant.
O my God, release me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the grasp of the unrighteous and violent man.
5 Car tu es mon attente, Seigneur; Seigneur, tu es mon espérance dès ma jeunesse.
For thou art my hope, O Lord Eternal: thou art my trust from my youth.
6 A peine conçu, j'ai été confirmé en toi; dès le sein de ma mère, tu es mon abri; mes chants ne cessent de s'adresser à toi.
By thee have I been supported from my birth: thou art he that took me out of my mother's womb: of thee is my praise continually.
7 J'ai été comme un prodige pour un grand nombre; et toi, tu es ma force et mon appui.
As a wonderful token have I been unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
8 Que ma bouche soit pleine de louanges, afin que je chante tout le jour ta gloire et ta grandeur.
My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, and with thy glory all the day.
9 Ne me fais point tomber au temps de la vieillesse; quand ma force sera défaillante, ne m'abandonne pas.
Cast me not off in the time of old age: when my strength faileth, forsake me not.
10 Car mes ennemis ont parlé contre moi; ceux qui épient mon âme ont tenu conseil ensemble,
For my enemies speak of me; and they that watch for my soul take counsel together,
11 Disant: Dieu l'a délaissé, poursuivez-le, saisissez-le; car nul n'est là pour le défendre.
Saying, “God hath forsaken him: pursue and seize him: for there is none to deliver.”
12 Dieu, ne t'éloigne point de moi; mon Dieu, viens à mon aide!
O God, be not far from me: O my God, hasten to my help.
13 Qu'ils soient confondus et détruits, les calomniateurs de mon âme; qu'ils soient revêtus de honte et d'humiliation, ceux qui me veulent du mal.
Let those be made ashamed, let them perish, that are adversaries to my soul: let those be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my unhappiness.
14 Pour moi, j'espérerai toujours; je te louerai de plus en plus.
But I will continually hope, and will add yet more to all thy praise.
15 Ma bouche proclamera tout le jour ta justice et ton salut; car je ne connais pas les œuvres intellectuelles.
My mouth shall relate thy righteousness, all the day thy salvation; for I know not their numbers.
16 Mais j'entrerai dans la contemplation de la puissance de Dieu; Seigneur, je me souviendrai seulement de ta justice.
I will come to praise the mighty deeds of the Lord Eternal: I will make mention of thy righteousness, yea, thine only.
17 Tu m'as instruit, Seigneur, dès ma jeunesse, et jusqu'ici j'ai annoncé tes merveilles.
O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto I ever tell of thy wondrous deeds.
18 Et je continuerai jusqu'à l'extrême vieillesse; ô Dieu, ne m'abandonne pas avant que j'aie annoncé, à toute la génération future, ton bras et ta puissance,
Therefore also even in old age, and when I am grayheaded, O God, forsake me not: until I have told of thy strength unto [this] generation, to every one that may come of thy might.
19 Et ta justice, ô mon Dieu, jusqu'au plus haut des cieux, et les grandes choses que tu as faites. O Dieu, qui donc est semblable à toi?
And thy righteousness, O God, reacheth even to the height, thou, who hast done great things: O God, who is like thee!
20 Autant de fois tu m'as fait voir de nombreuses et cruelles afflictions, autant de fois tu es revenu à moi pour me vivifier; et tu m'as ramené des abîmes de la terre.
Thou, who hast shown me great distresses and misfortunes, wilt again revive me; and from the depths of the earth wilt thou bring me up again.
21 Tu as multiplié sur moi ta libéralité, et tu es revenu à moi, et tu m'as consolé, et tu m'as ramené des abîmes de la terre.
Thou wilt increase my greatness, and wilt turn round and comfort me.
22 Et moi, sur mes instruments de musique, je confesserai, ô mon Dieu, ta vérité; je te chanterai des psaumes sur la cithare, ô Saint d'Israël!
Also I, I will thank thee with the psaltery, [for] thy truth, O my God: I will sing unto thee with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
23 Mes lèvres se réjouiront quand je chanterai pour toi, et aussi mon âme que tu as affranchie.
My lips shall shout joyfully when I sing unto thee; and my soul [too], which thou hast redeemed.
24 Ma langue, tout le jour, racontera ta justice, lorsque ceux qui me veulent du mal auront été humiliés et confondus.
Also my tongue shall speak all the day of thy righteousness; for ashamed, for put to the blush are those that seek my unhappiness.
