Psaumes 66
1 Jusqu'à la Fin, psaume de la Résurrection. Terre, jette tout entière des cris de joie au Seigneur.
To the chief Musician, A Song [or] Psalm. Make a joyful noise to God, all ye lands:
2 Chantez des louanges en son nom; rendez gloire à sa louange;
Sing forth the honor of his name: make his praise glorious.
3 Dites à Dieu: Que tes œuvres sont redoutables, Seigneur! tes ennemis seront contraints, par la plénitude de ta puissance, à feindre devant toi.
Say to God, How terrible [art thou in] thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thy enemies submit themselves to thee.
4 Que toute la terre t'adore; qu'elle chante vers toi; qu'elle chante à ton nom.
All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing to thee; they shall sing [to] thy name. (Selah)
5 Venez et voyez les œuvres du Seigneur; il est redoutable en ses conseils, sur les fils des hommes.
Come and see the works of God: [he is] terrible [in his] doing towards the children of men.
6 Il change la mer en une plage aride; on traversera le fleuve à pied. Là nous nous réjouirons en lui,
He turned the sea into dry [land]: they went through the flood on foot: there we rejoiced in him.
7 Qui en sa force est le maître de toute éternité. Ses yeux regardent les nations; que ceux qui l'irritent ne s'exaltent point en eux-mêmes.
He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. (Selah)
8 Nations, bénissez notre Dieu, et faites retentir la voix de sa louange.
O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
9 C'est lui qui a vivifié mon âme, et qui n'a point permis que mes pieds soient ébranlés.
Who holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
10 Tu nous as éprouvés, ô Dieu; tu nous as purifiés par le feu, comme l'argent.
For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
11 Tu nous as conduits en un piège; tu as chargé nos épaules d'affliction.
Thou hast brought us into the net; thou hast laid affliction upon our loins.
12 Tu as fait monter des hommes sur nos têtes; nous avons passé à travers l'eau et le feu, et tu nous as amenés en un lieu de rafraîchissement.
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy [place].
13 J'entrerai dans ta demeure avec des holocaustes; je te rendrai les vœux
I will go into thy house with burnt-offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
14 Que mes lèvres ont proférés; et ma bouche a parlé en mon affliction.
Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
15 Je t'offrirai des holocaustes pleins de moelle, avec de l'encens et des béliers; je te sacrifierai des bœufs et des chèvres.
I will offer to thee burnt-sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. (Selah)
16 Ô vous qui craignez le Seigneur, vous tous écoutez, et je dirai que de grandes choses il a faites pour mon âme.
Come [and] hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
17 J'ai crié vers lui de ma bouche; je l'ai glorifié de ma langue.
I cried to him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
18 Si, en mon cœur, j'ai connu l'iniquité, que le Seigneur ne m'exauce jamais.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the LORD will not hear [me]:
19 A cause de cela, le Seigneur m'a écouté; il a été attentif à la voix de ma prière.
[But] verily God hath heard [me]; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Béni soit Dieu qui n'a jamais rejeté ma prière et n'a point détourné de moi sa miséricorde.
Blessed [be] God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
