Psaumes 61

1 Jusqu'à la Fin, parmi les hymnes de David. Dieu, écoute ma demande, sois attentif à ma prière.

“To the chief musician upon Neginah, by David.” Hear, O God, my entreaty; listen to my prayer.

2 Des derniers confins de la terre j'ai crié vers toi, lorsque j'étais dans l'angoisse; tu m'as élevé sur le rocher, tu m'as dirigé,

From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is too high for me.

3 Parce que tu étais mon espérance, et comme une tour armée contre mon ennemi.

For thou hast been a shelter unto me, a strong tower against the enemy.

4 Je demeurerai éternellement dans ton tabernacle; je m'abriterai sous l'ombre de tes ailes,

Let me sojourn in thy tent to all eternity; let me be sheltered under the covert of thy wings. (Selah)

5 Car, ô mon Dieu, tu as exaucé mes prières; tu as doté d'un héritage ceux qui craignent ton nom.

For thou, O God, hast truly listened to my vows: thou hast given back the heritage of those that fear thy name.

6 Tu ajouteras des jours aux jours du Roi; tu prolongeras ses années jusqu'aux générations des générations.

Oh, add days unto the king's days: may his years be as of many generations.

7 Il restera durant les siècles en présence de Dieu; qui pourra sonder sa miséricorde et sa vérité?

May he abide for ever before God: ordain that kindness and truth may guard him.

8 Ainsi je chanterai à ton nom dans les siècles des siècles, pour te rendre mes vœux de jour en jour,

So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may pay my vows day by day.
