Psaumes 55
1 Jusqu'à la Fin, parmi les hymnes, instruction de David. Dieu, écoute ma prière, et ne méprise pas ma supplication.
To the chief Musician. On stringed instruments: an instruction. Of David. Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.
2 Sois attentif, et exauce moi; j'ai été contristé dans ma méditation, et j'ai été troublé
Attend unto me, and answer me: I wander about in my plaint, and I moan aloud,
3 Par la voix de l'ennemi et la persécution du pécheur; car ils avaient tourné contre moi leur iniquité, et ils étaient pleins de colère contre moi.
Because of the voice of the enemy; because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in anger they persecute me.
4 Mon cœur en moi a été troublé, et la terreur de la mort est tombée sur moi.
My heart is writhing within me, and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.
5 La crainte et le tremblement m'ont saisi, et les ténèbres m'ont enveloppé,
Fear and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.
6 Et j'ai dit: Qui me donnera des ailes, comme à la colombe? Je m'envolerai et je me reposerai.
And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away, and be at rest;
7 Voilà que j'ai fui au loin, et j'ai demeuré dans la solitude.
Behold, I would flee afar off, I would lodge in the wilderness; (Selah)
8 J'attendais Celui qui pouvait me sauver des défaillances de mon âme et de la tempête.
I would hasten my escape from the stormy wind, from the tempest.
9 Submerge-les, Seigneur, et divise leurs langues; car j'ai vu l'iniquité et la contradiction dans la cité.
Swallow [them] up, Lord; divide their tongue: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.
10 Jour et nuit l'iniquité assiégera ses remparts; il y aura l'iniquité, la douleur et l'injustice au milieu d'elles.
Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof; and iniquity and mischief are in the midst of it.
11 L'usure et la fraude ne quittent pas ses places publiques.
Perversities are in the midst thereof; and oppression and deceit depart not from its streets.
12 Si un ennemi m'avait outragé, je l'aurais souffert; et si celui qui me hait avait parlé contre moi avec jactance, je me serais caché de lui.
For it is not an enemy that hath reproached me — then could I have borne it; neither is it he that hateth me that hath magnified [himself] against me — then would I have hidden myself from him;
13 Mais toi, homme de mon cœur, mon guide, mon familier, toi qui goûtais avec moi des plus doux mets,
But it was thou, a man mine equal, mine intimate, my familiar friend. ...
14 Avec qui j'étais de même cœur dans le temple du Seigneur!…
We who held sweet intercourse together. To the house of God we walked amid the throng.
15 Que la mort vienne sur eux, qu'ils descendent vivants en enfer; car la méchanceté est dans leurs demeures, au milieu d'eux. (Sheol h7585)
Let death seize upon them, let them go down alive into Sheol. For wickedness is in their dwellings, in their midst. (Sheol h7585)
16 Pour moi, j'ai crié vers Dieu, et le Seigneur m'a exaucé.
As for me, unto God will I call; and Jehovah will save me.
17 Le matin, à midi, le soir, je lui raconterai mes peines; je les lui ferai connaître, et il entendra ma voix.
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray and moan aloud; and he will hear my voice.
18 Il rachètera en paix mon âme de ceux qui m'ont approché; car ils étaient en grand nombre contre moi.
He hath redeemed my soul in peace from the battle against me: for there were many about me.
19 Dieu m'exaucera, et il les humiliera, lui qui est avant tous les siècles; car il n'y a point en eux de changement, et ils n'ont jamais eu la crainte de Dieu.
God will hear, and afflict them: he that is seated of old, (Selah) ...because there is no change in them, and they fear not God.
20 Il a étendu la main pour les rétribuer; ils avaient souillé son alliance.
He hath put forth his hands against such as are at peace with him; he hath profaned his covenant.
21 Ils ont été dispersés par la colère de sa face; puis son cœur s'est rapproché: leurs paroles avaient été plus douces que l'huile, et elles sont des dards.
Smooth were the milky [words] of his mouth, but his heart was war; his words were softer than oil, yet are they drawn swords.
22 Confie au Seigneur toutes tes inquiétudes, et lui-même te nourrira; il ne laissera pas le juste en une perpétuelle fluctuation.
Cast thy burden upon Jehovah, and he will sustain thee: he will never suffer the righteous to be moved.
23 Et toi, mon Dieu, tu les feras tomber dans le puits de perdition; les hommes de sang et de fraude n'arriveront pas à la moitié de leurs jours; pour moi, je mettrai mon espérance en toi. Seigneur.
And thou, O God, wilt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days. But as for me, I will confide in thee.
