Psaumes 54

1 Jusqu'à la Fin, parmi les hymnes, instruction de David, Quand ceux de Ziph entrèrent, et dirent à Saül: N'as-tu pas vu où David est caché parmi nous? Dieu, sauve-moi par ton nom, et juge-moi par ta puissance!

Unto the end. In verses, the understanding of David, when the Ziphites had arrived and they said to Saul, “Has not David been hidden with us?” Save me, O God, by your name, and judge me in your virtue.

2 Dieu, écoute ma prière; sois attentif aux paroles de ma bouche!

O God, listen to my prayer. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.

3 Car des étrangers se sont élevés contre moi, et des hommes puissants en veulent à ma vie; ils n'ont point eu le Seigneur devant les yeux. (Pause)

For strangers have risen up against me, and the strong have sought my soul. And they have not set God before their eyes.

4 Et voilà que Dieu me vient en aide, et le Seigneur est le sauveur de mon âme.

For behold, God is my helper, and the Lord is the protector of my soul.

5 Il fera retomber le mal sur ses ennemis; détruis-les dans ta vérité.

Turn back the evils upon my adversaries, and ruin them by your truth.

6 Je te ferai un sacrifice volontaire; je rendrai grâces à ton nom, Seigneur parce que cela est bien.

I will freely sacrifice to you, and I will confess your name, O God, because it is good.

7 Car c'est toi qui m'as délivré de toutes mes tribulations, et mon œil a regardé de haut tous mes ennemis.

For you have quickly rescued me from all tribulation, and my eye has looked down upon my enemies.
