Psaumes 48
1 Psaume chanté par les fils de Koré, le second jour de la semaine. Le Seigneur est grand et digne de toute louange en la ville de notre Dieu, sur sa montagne sainte.
A Song. A Psalm. Of the sons of Korah. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised, in the town of our God, in his holy mountain.
2 Elle est profondément enracinée aux cris de joie de toute la terre, la montagne de Sion; la ville du grand Roi est bâtie sur le côté qui regarde l'aquilon.
Beautiful in its high position, the joy of all the earth, is the mountain of Zion, the mountain of God, the town of the great King.
3 Dieu est connu dans ses palais, lorsqu'il la défend,
In its buildings God is seen to be a high tower.
4 Car voilà que les rois de la terre se sont rassemblés; ils sont venus en un même lieu.
For see! the kings came together by agreement, they were joined together.
5 Mais l'ayant vu, ils ont été si émerveillés, qu'ils se sont troublés et ont été ébranlés.
They saw it, and so were full of wonder; they were troubled, and went quickly away in fear.
6 L'effroi les a saisis, et ils ont éprouvé comme les douleurs de l'enfantement.
Shaking came on them and pain, as on a woman in childbirth.
7 D'un coup de vent impétueux tu briseras les vaisseaux de Tharsis.
By you the ships of Tarshish are broken as by an east wind.
8 Ce que nous avions ouï, ainsi nous l'avons vu en la ville du Seigneur des armées, en la cité de notre Dieu. Dieu l'a fondée pour toujours. (Pause)
As it came to our ears so have we seen it, in the town of the Lord of armies, in the town of our God; God will keep it fixed for ever. (Selah)
9 O Dieu, nous avons reçu ta miséricorde au milieu de ton temple.
Our thoughts were of your mercy, O God, while we were in your Temple.
10 Comme ton nom, ô Dieu, ta louange va jusqu'aux confins de la terre; ta droite est pleine de justice.
As your name is, O God, so is your praise to the ends of the earth; your right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Que la montagne de Sion se réjouisse; que les villes de Juda tressaillent à cause de tes jugements, ô Seigneur!
Let there be joy in the mountain of Zion, and let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of your wise decisions.
12 Entourez Sion, embrassez-la; discourez au sujet de ses tours.
Make your way about Zion, and go round it, numbering its towers.
13 Mettez vos cœurs dans sa force, et distribuez ses demeures, afin que vous racontiez ces choses à une autre génération.
Take note of its strong walls, looking well at its fair buildings; so that you may give word of it to the generation which comes after.
14 Car c'est notre Dieu dans le siècle présent et dans tous les siècles à venir; et il sera notre pasteur dans tous les siècles.
Because this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide.
