Psaumes 46
1 Jusqu'à la Fin. Des fils de Koré, un psaume au sujet de choses cachées. O Dieu, notre force et notre refuge, tu es notre champion dans les afflictions qui nous ont violemment assaillis;
For the leader. Of the Korahites, on alamoth. A song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Aussi nous ne craindrions pas, quand même la terre serait bouleversée, quand même les montagnes seraient transportées au sein des mers.
So we have no fear, though earth should change, and the hills totter into the heart of the ocean.
3 Leurs eaux ont retenti, et elles ont été troublées; les montagnes ont été ébranlées par sa force.
Let its waters roar and foam, let the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. On our side is the Lord of hosts, our sure defence is the God of Jacob. (Selah)
4 L'eau courante du fleuve réjouit la cité de Dieu; le Très-Haut a sanctifié son tabernacle.
A river there is, whose streams make glad God’s city, the home the Most High has hallowed.
5 Dieu est au milieu de sa cité, elle ne sera point ébranlée; Dieu la défendra par sa face.
God is within her: she cannot be shaken. God helps her at the turn of the morning.
6 Les nations ont été troublées, les royaumes ont chancelé; il a élevé la voix, et la terre a tremblé.
Nations roared, kingdoms tottered: he uttered his voice, earth melted away.
7 Le Dieu des armées est avec nous; le Dieu de Jacob est notre refuge.
On our side is the Lord of hosts, our sure defence is the God of Jacob.
8 Venez, et voyez les œuvres du Seigneur, les prodiges qu'il a faits sur la terre.
Come and see what the Lord has done, working appallingly in the earth.
9 Mettant fin à la guerre jusqu'aux limites de la terre, il brisera l'arc, il broiera l'armure, il brûlera les boucliers dans le feu.
He stills wars to the ends of the earth – breaking the bow, snapping the spear, burning the chariots in the fire.
10 Restez en paix, et voyez que je suis Dieu. Je serai glorifié parmi les nations; je serai exalté sur la terre.
“Refrain; and know surely that I am God, high over the nations, high over the world.”
11 Le Seigneur des armées est avec nous; le Dieu de Jacob est notre refuge.
