Psaumes 28
1 De David. J'ai crié vers toi, Seigneur; ô mon Dieu, ne garde pas sur moi le silence, de peur que, si tu te tais, je ne ressemble à ceux qui descendent dans le sépulcre.
“Of David.” Unto thee, O Lord, will I call; O my rock, turn not unheeding from me: lest thou turn away silent from me, and I become like those that go down into the pit.
2 Écoute la voix de ma supplication quand je te prie, et que j'élève les mains vers ton temple saint.
Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward the most holy place of thy sanctuary.
3 N'entraîne pas mon âme avec les pécheurs; ne me perds pas avec ceux qui font le mal ou qui disent à leur prochain des paroles de paix, tandis que la méchanceté est dans leur cœur.
Snatch me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of injustice, who speak peace with their neighbors, with mischief in their heart.
4 Rétribue ceux-là selon leurs œuvres, et selon la perversité de leurs desseins; donne-leur selon les œuvres de leurs mains; rends-leur ce qui leur est dû.
Give unto them according to their doing, and according to the evil of their deeds; according to the work of their hands do thou give unto them: bestow their [just] recompense on them.
5 Parce qu'ils n'ont rien compris aux œuvres du Seigneur, aux œuvres de ses mains, tu les détruiras; tu ne les édifieras pas.
Because they have no regard for the doings of the Lord, nor the works of his hands: may he pull them down, and not build them up.
6 Béni soit le Seigneur, parce qu'il a écouté la voix de ma prière.
Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7 Le Seigneur est mon champion et mon protecteur; mon cœur a mis en lui son espérance, et j'ai été secouru, et ma chair a refleuri; et de tout cœur je lui rendrai grâces.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him hath my heart trusted, and I am helped, and my heart exulteth; and with my song will I thank him.
8 Le Seigneur est la force de son peuple; il est le défenseur qui délivre son Christ.
The Lord is strength unto them, and he is the fortress of victory of his anointed.
9 Sauve ton peuple, bénis ton héritage, sois son pasteur et glorifie-le dans tous les siècles.
Help thy people, and bless thy heritage: and feed them, and exalt them unto all eternity.
