Psaumes 16
1 Écrit de David. Garde-moi, Seigneur, car j'ai mis en toi mon espérance.
God, protect me because I go to you to keep me safe!
2 J'ai dit au Seigneur: Tu es mon Seigneur, et tu n'as nul besoin de mes biens.
I said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord; all the good things that I have come from you.”
3 Quant aux saints qui sont sur la terre, il a fait éclater toutes ses volontés pour eux.
Your people who live in this land are wonderful; I delight to be with them.
4 Leurs infirmités se sont multipliées, et cependant ils ont couru rapidement; je ne rassemblerai plus leurs synagogues de sang; et de mes lèvres je ne mentionnerai pas leur nom.
Those who choose to worship other gods will have many things that cause them to be sad. I will not join them when they make sacrifices [to their gods]; I will not even join them when they speak [MTY] the names of their gods.
5 Le Seigneur est la part de mon héritage et de mon calice; c'est toi, Seigneur, qui me restitueras mon héritage.
Yahweh, you are the one whom I have chosen, and you give me great blessings. You protect me and control what happens to me.
6 Les cordeaux sont tombés pour moi aux meilleures places; car mon héritage est excellent.
Yahweh has given me a wonderful place in which to live; I am delighted with all the things that he has given me [MET].
7 Je bénirai le Seigneur, qui m'a donné l'intelligence; mes désirs aussi me pressaient vivement jusque dans la nuit même.
I will praise Yahweh, the one who teaches/disciplines me; even at night [he] you put in my mind what is right for me to do.
8 Je n'ai cessé de voir devant moi le Seigneur; car il se tient à ma droite, pour que je ne sois pas ébranlé.
I know that Yahweh is always with me. He is beside me; so nothing will (perturb me/cause me to be worried).
9 C'est pourquoi mon cœur s'est réjoui, ma langue a tressailli d'allégresse, et ma chair se reposera dans l'espérance:
Therefore I am glad and I [MTY, DOU] rejoice; I can rest securely
10 Parce que tu ne laisseras pas mon âme aux enfers; tu ne permettras pas que ton Saint voie la corruption. (Sheol h7585)
because you, Yahweh, will not allow my soul/spirit to remain in the place where the dead people are; you will not allow me, your godly one, to stay there. (Sheol h7585)
11 Tu m'as fait connaître les voies de la vie; tu me rempliras de joie par ton aspect; des délices éternelles sont à ta droite.
You will show me the road that leads to [receiving eternal] life, and you will make me joyful when I am with you. I will have pleasure forever when I am (at your right hand/seated next to you).
