Psaumes 132
1 Cantique des degrés. Seigneur; souviens-toi de David et de toute sa mansuétude;
“A song of the degrees.” Remember, O Lord, unto David all his afflictions;
2 Comment il a juré au Seigneur et fait vœu au Dieu de Jacob.
How he swore unto the Lord; how he vowed unto the mighty One of Jacob:
3 Je n'entrerai pas, dit-il, dans le tabernacle de ma demeure; je ne monterai pas sur le lit de mon repos;
Surely, I will not enter into the tent of my house, nor ascend the couch of my repose;
4 Je ne donnerai point de sommeil à mes yeux, ni à mes paupières le moindre assoupissement,
I will not grant any sleep to my eyes, nor to my eyelids any slumber:
5 Ni de repos à mon front, avant que j'aie trouvé un lieu pour le Seigneur, un tabernacle pour le Dieu de Jacob.
Until I shall have found out a place for the Lord, a dwelling-place for the mighty One of Jacob.
6 Voilà que nous avons ouï dire: Il est en Éphrata; nous l'avons trouvé dans les plaines de la forêt.
“Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we met with it in the fields of the forest:
7 Nous entrerons dans le tabernacle du Seigneur; nous l'adorerons dans le lieu où il a arrêté ses pieds.
let us then go into his dwelling: let us prostrate ourselves before his footstool.”
8 Lève-toi, Seigneur, pour entrer en ton repos, toi et l'arche de ta sanctification.
Arise, O Lord, unto thy resting-place: thou, and the ark of thy strength.
9 Tes prêtres se revêtiront de justice, et tes saints seront transportés d'allégresse.
Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy pious servants shout for joy.
10 A cause de David ton serviteur, ne détourne pas ta face de ton Christ.
For the sake of David thy servant turn not away the face of thy anointed.
11 Le Seigneur a fait à David un serment véritable, et il ne le rétractera pas: Je placerai sur ton trône un roi issu du fruit de ton sang.
The Lord hath sworn unto David in truth; he will not turn from it: “From the fruit of thy body will I set [some one] on the throne to succeed thee.
12 Si tes fils gardent mon alliance et mes témoignages que je leur ai enseignés, leurs fils aussi seront assis sur ton trône dans tous les siècles:
If thy children will observe my covenant and this my testimony which I teach them: then also shall their children sit for evermore upon the throne to succeed thee.”
13 Parce que le Seigneur a élu Sion; il en a fait un choix privilégié pour sa demeure.
For the Lord hath made choice of Zion: he hath desired it as a habitation for himself.
14 Ce sera mon repos dans les siècles des siècles; j'y résiderai, parce que je l'ai choisi avec prédilection.
This is my resting-place for evermore: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
15 Je bénirai et bénirai sa chasse; ses pauvres, je les rassasierai de pain.
Her provision will I bless abundantly: her needy ones will I satisfy with bread.
16 Ses prêtres, je les revêtirai de salut, et ses saints tressailliront d'allégresse.
And her priests will I clothe with salvation: and her pious ones shall shout aloud for joy.
17 C'est là que j'élèverai le front de David, là que j'ai préparé une lampe pour mon Christ.
There will I cause to grow a horn unto David: I arrange a lamp for my anointed.
18 Pour ses ennemis, je les revêtirai de honte; mais sur lui fleurira ma sanctification.
His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown shine brilliantly.
