Psaumes 124

1 Cantique des degrés. Si le Seigneur n'avait été avec nous, qu'Israël dise:

A Song of the Ascents, by David. Save [for] Jehovah — who hath been for us, (Pray, let Israel say),

2 Si le Seigneur n'avait été avec nous, lorsque des hommes se sont levés contre nous,

Save [for] Jehovah — who hath been for us, In the rising up of man against us,

3 Peut-être nous auraient-ils dévorés tout vivants. Quand leur fureur a éclaté contre nous,

Then alive they had swallowed us up, In the burning of their anger against us,

4 Peut-être leurs flots nous auraient-ils submergés.

Then the waters had overflowed us, The stream passed over our soul,

5 Ce torrent, notre âme l'a traversé; notre âme a traversé cet abîme sans fond.

Then passed over our soul had the proud waters.

6 Béni soit le Seigneur, qui ne nous a point livrés à leurs dents comme une proie.

Blessed [is] Jehovah who hath not given us, A prey to their teeth.

7 Notre âme s'est échappée comme un passereau du filet des chasseurs; le filet a été rompu, et nous avons été délivrés.

Our soul as a bird hath escaped from a snare of fowlers, The snare was broken, and we have escaped.

8 Notre secours est dans le nom du Seigneur, qui a créé le ciel et la terre.

Our help [is] in the name of Jehovah, Maker of the heavens and earth!
