1 Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
2 Donne mes ordres aux fils d'Israël, et dis-leur: Vous allez entrer en la terre de Chanaan; cette terre, avec ses limites, vous appartiendra comme héritage.
“Command the sons of Israel, and you have said to them: When you are coming into the land of Canaan—this [is] the land which falls to you by inheritance, the land of Canaan, by its borders—
3 Au midi, vous la possèderez depuis le désert jusqu'au territoire d'Edom; de ce côté, la limite sera d'abord le rivage oriental de la mer Salée.
then the south quarter has been to you from the wilderness of Zin, by the sides of Edom, indeed, the south border has been to you from the extremity of the Salt Sea eastward;
4 Vos limites au midi tourneront autour de la montée d'Acrabin; elles traverseront Ennac (Senna), et elles descendront au delà de Cadès-Barné; puis, elles sortiront du village d'Arad, et elles passeront par Asémona.
and the border has turned around to you from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and has passed on to Zin, and its outgoings have been from the south to Kadesh-Barnea, and it has gone out at Hazar-Addar, and has passed on to Azmon;
5 A partir d'Asémona, elles suivront les contours du torrent d'Egypte, et finiront à la mer.
and the border has turned around from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its outgoings have been at the sea.
6 Ensuite, vous aurez pour limites la mer, la grande mer vous limitera; ce sera la frontière occidentale.
As for the west border, even the Great Sea has been a border to you; this is the west border to you.
7 Au nord, voici quelle sera votre limite: à partir de la mer, vous mesurerez pour vous la montagne, le long de la montagne.
And this is the north border to you: from the Great Sea you mark out for yourselves Mount Hor;
8 Et vous mesurerez pour vous de montagne en montagne; votre frontière, après être entrée dans Emath, ira jusqu'à Saradac (Sadada).
from Mount Hor you mark out to go to Hamath, and the outgoings of the border have been to Zedad;
9 Ensuite, elle sortira de Déphron (Zéphronie), et finira en Arsenaïn (Enan): telle sera votre frontière du nord.
and the border has gone out to Ziphron, and its outgoings have been at Hazar-Enan; this is the north border to you.
10 Et tous mesurerez votre frontière orientale d'Arsenaïn à Séphama;
And you have marked out for yourselves for the border eastward, from Hazar-Enan to Shepham;
11 Elle descendra de Séphama en Béla (Rébla), au delà des frontières, et de Béla à l'extrémité de la rive orientale de la mer de Cénéreth (Génésareth).
and the border has gone down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east of Ain, and the border has gone down, and has struck against the shoulder of the Sea of Chinnereth eastward;
12 Puis, elle suivra le cours du Jourdain, et elle finira par la mer Salée: telle sera votre terre, telles seront ses limites tout alentour.
and the border has gone down to the Jordan, and its outgoings have been at the Salt Sea; this is the land for you by its borders all around.”
13 Moïse donna donc cet ordre aux fils d'Israël, disant: Voici la terre que vous vous partagerez au sort, comme l'a prescrit le Seigneur, pour la distribuer aux neuf tribus et à la demi-tribu de Manassé.
And Moses commands the sons of Israel, saying, “This [is] the land which you inherit by lot, which YHWH has commanded to give to the nine tribes and the half of the tribe;
14 Car les fils de Ruben, les fils de Gad, par familles paternelles, et une demi-tribu de Manassé, ont reçu leurs parts.
for the tribe of the sons of Reuben, by the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad, by the house of their fathers, have received [their inheritance]; and [those of] the half of the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance;
15 Deux tribus et une demi-tribu ont pris leur part, vis-à-vis Jéricho, sur la rive orientale du Jourdain, au sud-est
the two tribes and the half of the tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan, [near] Jericho, eastward, at the [sun]-rising.”
16 Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
17 Voici les noms des hommes qui procèderont au partage de la terre: Eléazar le prêtre, et Josué, fils de Nau.
“These [are] the names of the men who give the inheritance of the land to you: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.
18 Et vous prendrez par tribu un prince qui tirera au sort la part de la tribu.
And one prince—you take one prince from a tribe to give the land by inheritance.
19 Voici les noms de ces princes, pour la tribu de Juda: Caleb, fils de Jéphoné.
And these [are] the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
20 Pour la tribu de Siméon: Samuel, fils d'Ammiud.
and of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Aminihud;
21 Pour la tribu de Benjamin: Elidad, fils de Chaselon.
of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;
22 Pour la tribu de Dan: Bocchi, fils de Jogli.
and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Dan, Bukki son of Jogli;
23 Pour les fils de Joseph, de la tribu de Manassé: Hanniel, fils d'Ephod;
of the sons of Joseph, a prince of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, Hanniel son of Ephod;
24 Pour la tribu d'Ephraïm: Camuel, fils de Sephthan;
and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, Kemuel son of Shiphtan;
25 Pour la tribu de Zabulon: Elisaphan, fils de Pharnach.
and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, Elizaphan son of Parnach;
26 Pour la tribu d'Issachar: Phaltiel, fils d'Ozan.
and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, Paltiel son of Azzan;
27 Pour la tribu d'Aser: Ahiud, fils de Salomi.
and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Asher, Ahihud son of Shelomi;
28 Et pour la tribu de Nephthali: Phédaël, fils d'Ammiudi
and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, Pedahel son of Ammihud.”
29 Tels furent ceux à qui le Seigneur ordonna de faire les parts des fils d'Israël, en la terre de Chanaan.
These [are] those whom YHWH has commanded to give the sons of Israel inheritance in the land of Canaan.
