1 Voici les stations des fils d'Israël, après que Moïse et Aaron les eurent fait sortir d'Egypte.
These are the lodging places of the sons of Israel, who departed from Egypt by their companies under the hand of Moses and Aaron,
2 Par les ordres du Seigneur, Moïse écrivit leurs départs et leurs campements. Or, voici ces stations:
which Moses wrote down according to the places of the encampments, which they changed upon the order of the Lord.
3 Ils partirent de Rhamessès le premier mois, le quinzième jour de la lune; le lendemain de la pâque, les fils d'Israël partirent sous une haute et puissante main, devant tous les fils de l'Egypte.
Thus the sons of Israel set out from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month, on the day after the Passover, with an exalted hand, being seen by all the Egyptians.
4 Les Egyptiens ensevelirent chez eux tous les morts qu'avait frappés le Seigneur, tous les premiers-nés de la terre d'Egypte, et le Seigneur tira vengeance de leurs dieux.
And these were burying their firstborn, whom the Lord had struck down (for so, too, did he carry out retribution against their gods).
5 Partis de Rhamessès, les fils d'Israël campèrent en Soccoth.
And they made camp at Soccoth.
6 Partis de Soccoth, ils campèrent à Etham (Othom), qui est à l'extrémité du désert.
And from Soccoth they went to Etham, which is at the furthest limits of the wilderness.
7 Ils partirent d'Etham, et campèrent vers le golfe de Phihahiroth, qui est en face de Béelséphon, et ils étaient campés vis-à-vis Magdole.
Departing from there, they arrived opposite Pi-hahiroth, which looks out toward Baal-zephon, and they were encamped before Migdol.
8 Partis de Phihahiroth, ils passèrent au milieu de la mer Rouge pour gagner le désert, et ils firent trois journées de marche dans le désert, et ils campèrent à Mara.
And setting out from Pi-hahiroth, they crossed through the middle of the Sea into the wilderness. And having walked for three days through the desert of Etham, they made camp at Marah.
9 Ils quittèrent Mara, et vinrent en Elim. Or, il y avait à Elim douze fontaines et soixante-dix tiges de palmiers; ils campèrent en ce lieu, à cause de l'eau.
And setting out from Marah, they arrived at Elim, where there were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm trees. And they set up camp there.
10 Puis, ils partirent d'Elim, et ils campèrent au bord de la mer Rouge.
But departing from there also, they fixed their tents above the Red Sea. And setting out from the Red Sea,
11 Et ils partirent de la mer Rouge, et ils campèrent dans le désert de Sin.
they were encamped in the desert of Sin.
12 Partis du désert de Sin, ils vinrent camper en Daphca.
Departing from there, they went to Dophkah.
13 Et ils partirent de Daphca, et ils campèrent en Alus.
And setting out from Dophkah, they made camp at Alush.
14 Et ils partirent d'Alus, et ils campèrent à Rhaphidin; or, il n'y avait point là de l'eau pour que le peuple put boire.
And departing from Alush, they fixed their tents at Rephidim, where the people lacked water to drink.
15 Ayant quitte Rhaphidin, ils dressèrent leurs tentes dans le désert de Sina.
And setting out from Rephidim, they camped in the desert of Sinai.
16 Du désert de Sina, ils vinrent camper aux Sépulcres de concupiscence.
But departing also from the wilderness of the Sinai, they arrived at the Graves of Lust.
17 Ils s'éloignèrent des Sépulcres de concupiscence, et campèrent à Haseroth.
And setting out from the Graves of Lust, they were encamped at Hazeroth.
18 Partis d'Haseroth, ils allèrent camper à Rethma.
And from Hazeroth, they went to Rithmah.
19 De Rethma, ils vinrent camper en Rhemmompharès.
And setting out from Rithmah, they made camp at Rimmon-perez.
20 Ils partirent de Rhemmompharès, et ils campèrent en Lebna.
And departing from there, they arrived at Libnah.
21 Partis de Lebna, ils campèrent en Ressa.
From Libnah, they made camp at Rissah.
22 De Ressa, ils vinrent dresser leurs tentes en Céélatha.
And departing from Rissah, they went to Kehelathah.
23 Et ils partirent de Céélatha, pour aller camper à Sépher.
Setting out from there, they were encamped at mount Shepher.
24 Ayant quitté Sépher, ils campèrent en Arada.
Departing from mount Shepher, they went to Haradah.
25 Ils partirent d'Arada, et campèrent en Maceloth.
Continuing on from there, they made camp at Makheloth.
26 De Maceloth, ils dressèrent leurs tentes en Thabath.
And setting out from Makheloth, they went to Tahath.
27 Et ils partirent de Thabath, pour venir camper à Tharé.
From Tahath, they made camp at Terah.
28 Partis de Tharé, ils campèrent à Methca.
Departing from there, they pitched their tents at Mithkah.
29 De Methca, ils vinrent camper à Hesmona.
And from Mithkah, they were encamped at Hashmonah.
30 Et ils partirent de Hesmona, pour aller camper à Moserotb.
And setting out from Hashmonah, they went to Moseroth.
31 Ayant quitté Moseroth, ils campèrent à Béné-Jaacan.
And from Moseroth, they made camp at Bene-jaakan.
32 Partis de Béné-Jaacan, ils vinrent camper en la montagne de Gadgad.
And setting out from Bene-jaakan, they went to mount Gidgad.
33 De la montagne de Gadgad, ils vinrent camper à Jétébatba.
Setting out from there, they were encamped at Jotbathah.
34 Et ils partirent de Jétébatba, pour aller dresser leurs tentes en Hébrona.
And from Jotbathah, they went to Abronah.
35 Puis, ayant quitté Hebrona, ils campèrent en Asion-Gaber.
And departing from Abronah, they made camp at Eziongeber.
36 Partis d'Asion-Gaber, ils vinrent camper dans le désert de Sin, d'où, étant sortis, ils campèrent dans le désert de Pharan qui est Cadès.
Setting out from there, they went into the desert of Sin, which is Kadesh.
37 Partis de Cadès-Barné, ils vinrent camper sur la montagne de Hor, près de la terre d'Edom.
And departing from Kadesh, they encamped at mount Hor, at the furthermost limits of the land of Edom.
38 Et Aaron monta sur la montagne par ordre du Seigneur, et il y mourut, en la quarantième année de la sortie d'Egypte, le cinquième mois, le premier de la lune.
And Aaron the priest ascended onto mount Hor, by the order of the Lord. And there he died, in the fortieth year of the departure of the sons of Israel from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month,
39 Aaron avait cent vingt-trois ans lorsqu'il mourut sur la montagne de Hor.
when he was one hundred twenty-three years old.
40 Et, le Chananéen, roi d'Arad, qui demeurait en la terre de Chanaan, apprit que les fils d'Israël étaient en marche.
And king Arad the Canaanite, who lived toward the south, heard that the sons of Israel had arrived in the land of Canaan.
41 Ils partirent ensuite de la montagne de Hor, et vinrent camper en Salmona.
And setting out from mount Hor, they made camp at Zalmonah.
42 Ayant quitté Salmona, ils campèrent en Phunon.
Departing from there, they went to Punon.
43 Partis de Phunon, ils dressèrent leurs tentes à Oboth.
And setting out from Punon, they were encamped at Oboth.
44 Puis, ils s'éloignèrent d'Obotb, pour venir camper à Gié-Abarim, au delà et près des frontières de Moab.
And from Oboth, they went to Iye-abarim, which is at the borders of the Moabites.
45 Et ils partirent de Gié-Abarim, pour séjourner à Dibon-Gad.
And setting out from Iye-abarim, they fixed their tents at Dibon-gad.
46 De Dibon-Gad, ils vinrent camper à Helmon-Déblathaïm.
Departing from there, they made camp at Almon-diblathaim.
47 Partis de Helmon-Déblathaïm, ils campèrent sur les montagnes d'Abarim, en face de Nébo.
And departing from Almon-diblathaim, they went to the mountains of Abarim, opposite Nebo.
48 Ayant quitté les montagnes d'Abarim, ils campèrent à l'Occident de Moab, sur le Jourdain, en face de Jéricho.
And setting out from the mountains of Abarim, they crossed over to the plains of Moab, above the Jordan, opposite Jericho.
49 Ensuite, ils campèrent aux bords du Jourdain de Beth-Simoth, à Abelsatim, à l'occident de Moab.
And they made camp there, from Beth-jeshimoth all the way to Abel-shittim, in the level places of the Moabites,
50 Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, à l'occident de Moab, sur le Jourdain, en face de Jéricho, et il lui dit:
where the Lord said to Moses:
51 Parle aux fils d'Israël, et dis-leur: Vous allez traverser le Jourdain pour entrer en la terre de Chanaan.
“Instruct the sons of Israel, and say to them: When you will have crossed over the Jordan, entering into the land of Canaan,
52 Et, devant vous, vous exterminerez tous ceux qui habitent cette terre; vous détruirez leurs tours, leurs idoles jetées en fonte, et leurs colonnes.
destroy all the inhabitants of that land. Break their monuments, and shatter their statues, and lay waste to every exalted thing,
53 Vous détruirez tous les peuples de la terre promise, et vous l'habiterez; car je vous la donne pour héritage.
cleansing the land and living in it. For I have given it you as a possession,
54 Vous la partagerez entre vos tribus; donnant plus aux plus nombreux, et moins aux moindres en nombre. Quelle que soit la part qu'à chacun désignera le sort, chacun la possèdera; le partage se fera par tribus paternelles.
which you shall divide among you by lot. To the greater number you shall give more, and to the lesser number, less. To each one, just as the lot shall fall, so shall the inheritance be distributed. The possession shall be divided by the tribes and families.
55 Mais, si vous n'exterminez pas devant vous tous les habitants de la terre, ceux que vous aurez épargnés seront des traits en vos yeux, des flèches en vos flancs; ils seront vos ennemis sur la terre que vous habiterez.
But if you are not willing to put to death the inhabitants of the land, those who remain shall be to you like spikes in your eyes and lances in your sides, and they shall be adversaries to you in the land of your habitation.
56 Et alors, je vous traiterai vous-mêmes comme j'avais résolu de les traiter.
And whatever I had decided to do to them, I will do to you.”
