Michée 6
1 Écoutez donc la parole: Le Seigneur, le Seigneur a dit: Lève-toi, annonce le jugement aux montagnes, et que les collines entendent ta voix!
Hearken ye nowe what the Lord sayth, Arise thou, and contende before the mountaines, and let the hilles heare thy voyce.
2 Écoutez, montagnes, le jugement du Seigneur, et vous aussi, vallées, fondements de la terre; car le Seigneur vient en jugement devant Son peuple, et Il plaidera avec Israël.
Heare ye, O mountaynes, the Lordes quarel, and ye mightie foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a quarell against his people, and he will pleade with Israel.
3 Mon peuple, que t'ai-Je fait? En quoi t'ai-Je contristé? En qui t'ai-Je déplu? Réponds-Moi.
O my people, what haue I done vnto thee? or wherin haue I grieued thee? testifie against me.
4 Est-ce parce que Je t'ai fait sortir de la terre d'Égypte, que Je t'ai affranchi de la maison de servitude, et que J'ai envoyé devant toi Moïse, Aaron et Marie?
Surely I brought thee vp out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of seruants, and I haue sent before thee, Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
5 Mon peuple, souviens-toi donc de ce qu'a médité contre toi Balac, roi de Moab, et de la réponse que lui a rapportée Balaam, fils de Béor, depuis Sétim jusqu'à Galgala, afin que l'on connût la justice du Seigneur.
O my people, remember nowe what Balak King of Moab had deuised, and what Balaam the sonne of Beor answered him, from Shittim vnto Gilgal, that ye may knowe the righteousnes of the Lord.
6 Comment prendrai-je le Seigneur? Comment serai-je agréable à mon Dieu très-haut? Le prendrai-je par des holocaustes, par des veaux d'un an?
Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bowe my selfe before the hie God? Shall I come before him with burnt offrings, and with calues of a yeere olde?
7 Le Seigneur accueillera-t-Il des milliers de béliers, des myriades de chèvres grasses? Donnerai-je, pour mes impiétés, les premiers-nés de mes troupeaux, et, pour les péchés de mon âme, le fruit de mes entrailles?
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousand riuers of oyle? shall I giue my first borne for my transgression, euen the fruite of my bodie, for the sinne of my soule?
8 Ô homme, faut-il te dire ce qui est bon? Est-ce que le Seigneur demande de toi quelque chose, sinon que tu pratiques la justice, que tu aimes la miséricorde, et que tu sois prêt à cheminer avec le Seigneur ton Dieu?
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good, and what the Lord requireth of thee: surely to doe iustly, and to loue mercie, and to humble thy selfe, to walke with thy God.
9 La voix du Seigneur sera invoquée dans la ville, et sauvera ceux qui craignent Son Nom. Écoute, tribu: Qui donc mettra l'ordre en ta cité?
The Lordes voyce cryeth vnto the citie, and the man of wisedome shall see thy name: Heare the rodde, and who hath appoynted it.
10 Est-ce le feu? Est-ce la maison de l'impie amassant des trésors iniques, avec une insolente impiété?
Are yet the treasures of wickednes in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure, that is abominable?
11 Sera-t-il absous, l'homme injuste avec ses fausses balances et ses faux poids en un sac?
Shall I iustifie the wicked balances, and the bag of deceitfull weightes?
12 Car c'est ainsi que ceux qui demeurent dans la ville ont amassé leurs richesses impies; et ils ne disent que des mensonges, et dans leur bouche leur langue s'est enorgueillie.
For the rich men thereof are full of crueltie, and the inhabitants thereof haue spoken lyes, and their tongue is deceitfull in their mouth.
13 Et Moi Je commencerai par te frapper, et Je t'effacerai à cause de tes crimes.
Therefore also will I make thee sicke in smiting thee, and in making thee desolate, because of thy sinnes.
14 Tu mangeras, et ne seras point rassasié, et il y aura sur toi des ténèbres; et le Seigneur Se détournera; tu ne seras point sauvée; et ceux qui échapperont seront livrés au glaive.
Thou shalt eate and not be satisfied, and thy casting downe shall be in the mids of thee, and thou shalt take holde, but shalt not deliuer: and that which thou deliuerest, will I giue vp to the sworde.
15 Tu sèmeras et ne moissonneras pas; tu pressureras l'olive, et tu ne seras pas oint de son huile; tu pressureras la grappe, et tu n'en boiras pas le vin; et les lois de Mon peuple seront abolies.
Thou shalt sowe, but not reape: thou shalt treade the oliues, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oyle, and make sweete wine, but shalt not drinke wine.
16 Car tu as gardé les ordonnances de Zambri, et toutes les œuvres de la maison d'Achab; et tu as marché dans toutes leurs voies, pour que Je te livre, toi, à la destruction et aux sifflets de tes habitants; et vous recueillerez les opprobres des peuples.
For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the maner of the house of Ahab, and ye walke in their counsels, that I should make thee waste, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall beare the reproche of my people.
