Lévitique 26
1 Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu; vous n'aurez point d'idoles faites de vos mains ou sculptées vous n'érigerez pas pour vous de colonnes, vous ne dresserez pas de pierres significatives en votre terre pour les adorer: je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
'Ye do not make to yourselves idols; and graven image or standing image ye do not set up to yourselves; and a stone of imagery ye do not put in your land, to bow yourselves to it; for I [am] Jehovah your God.
2 Vous observerez mes sabbats, et vous craindrez mes choses saintes: je suis le Seigneur.
'My sabbaths ye do keep, and My sanctuary ye do reverence; I [am] Jehovah.
3 Si vous marchez selon mes préceptes, si vous observez mes commandements et les mettez en pratique,
'If in My statutes ye walk, and My commands ye keep, and have done them,
4 Je vous enverrai de la pluie au temps opportun, et la terre donnera ses récoltes, et les arbres des champ porteront des fruits.
then I have given your rains in their season, and the land hath given her produce, and the tree of the field doth give its fruit;
5 La moisson chez vous tendra la main à la vendange, et la vendange aux semailles; vous mangerez du pain à satiété, vous habiterez votre terre en assurance, la guerre ne passera pas par votre territoire.
and reached to you hath the threshing, the gathering, and the gathering doth reach the sowing -[time]; and ye have eaten your bread to satiety, and have dwelt confidently in your land.
6 Je donnerai la paix à votre pays, et vous vous reposerez; il n'y aura personne pour vous causer de l'effroi; et j'exterminerai de votre terre les bêtes malfaisantes.
'And I have given peace in the land, and ye have lain down, and there is none causing trembling; and I have caused evil beasts to cease out of the land, and the sword doth not pass over into your land.
7 Vous chasserez vos ennemis, et ils tomberont devant vous au milieu du carnage:
'And ye have pursued your enemies, and they have fallen before you by the sword;
8 Cinq de vous en chasseront cent, et cent en chasseront des myriades, et les ennemis tomberont devant vous frappés par le glaive.
and five of you have pursued a hundred, and a hundred of you do pursue a myriad; and your enemies have fallen before you by the sword.
9 Je tournerai mes regards vers vous, je vous ferai croître et vous multiplierai, et j'établirai avec vous mon alliance.
'And I have turned unto you, and have made you fruitful, and have multiplied you, and have established My covenant with you;
10 Vous mangerez les récoltes anciennes, tellement anciennes, que vous les rejetterez à l'arrivée des nouvelles.
and ye have eaten old [store], and the old because of the new ye bring out.
11 J'établirai au milieu de vous mon tabernacle, et mon âme ne vous aura point en abomination.
'And I have given My tabernacle in your midst, and My soul doth not loathe you;
12 Et je marcherai avec vous, je serai votre Dieu, et vous serez mon peuple.
and I have walked habitually in your midst, and have become your God, and ye — ye are become My people;
13 Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu qui vous ai tirés de la terre d'Egypte ou vous étiez enclaves; j'ai brisé les chaînes de votre joug, et je vous ai conduits libres en assurance,
I [am] Jehovah your God, who have brought you out of the land of the Egyptians, from being their servants; and I break the bars of your yoke, and cause you to go erect.
14 Mais si vous n'obéissez point, si vous n'exécutez pas mes commandements,
'And if ye do not hearken to Me, and do not all these commands;
15 Si vous leur êtes indociles, si votre âme s'irrite contre mes jugements au point de ne plus mettre mes préceptes en pratique et de briser mon alliance,
and if at My statutes ye kick, and if My judgments your soul loathe, so as not to do all My commands — to your breaking My covenant —
16 Voici ce que je vous ferai, moi: j'affermirai parmi vous la misère, la gale et la jaunisse, qui vous sècheront les yeux, et vous consumeront l'âme; vous sèmerez en vain vos grains, vos ennemis s'en nourriront.
I also do this to you, and I have appointed over you trouble, the consumption, and the burning fever, consuming eyes, and causing pain of soul; and your seed in vain ye have sowed, and your enemies have eaten it;
17 Je tournerai ma face contre vous, et vous tomberez devant vos ennemis; ceux qui vous haïssent vous chasseront, et vous fuirez, quoique personne ne vous poursuive.
and I have set My face against you, and ye have been smitten before your enemies; and those hating you have ruled over you, and ye have fled, and there is none pursuing you.
18 Et si après cela vous de m'obéissez point encore, je continuerai de vous châtier sept fois, à cause de vos péchés.
'And if unto these ye hearken not to Me, — then I have added to chastise you seven times for your sins;
19 Je briserai l'excès de votre orgueil, et je ferai que pour vous le ciel soit de fer et la terre d'airain.
and I have broken the pride of your strength, and have made your heavens as iron, and your earth as brass;
20 Votre force s'épuisera vainement, la terre ne vous rendra pas sa semence, et l'arbre de votre champ ne vous donnera pas son fruit.
and consumed hath been your strength in vain, and your land doth not give her produce, and the tree of the land doth not give its fruit.
21 Et si après cela votre marche est encore oblique, si vous refusez de m'obéir, je vous enverrai sept plaies pour vos péchés.
'And if ye walk with Me [in] opposition, and are not willing to hearken to Me, then I have added to you a plague seven times, according to your sins,
22 Je déchaînerai contre vous les bêtes féroces de la terre; elles vous dévoreront, et elles prendront votre bétail; je réduirai votre nombre à rien, et vos routes demeureront désertes.
and sent against you the beast of the field, and it hath bereaved you; and I have cut off your cattle, and have made you few, and your ways have been desolate.
23 Et si après cela vous n'êtes point corrigés, si votre marche est encore oblique en ma présence,
'And if by these ye are not instructed by Me, and have walked with Me [in] opposition,
24 Moi aussi je marcherai avec vous dans les voies obliques de ma colère, moi aussi je vous frapperai sept fois, à cause de vos péchés.
then I have walked — I also — with you in opposition, and have smitten you, even I, seven times for your sins;
25 Et je dirigerai contre vous le glaive vengeur de l'alliance méconnue; vous vous réfugierez dans vos villes, mais j'enverrai contre vous la mort, et vous serez livrés aux ennemis.
and I have brought in on you a sword, executing the vengeance of a covenant; and ye have been gathered unto your cities, and I have sent pestilence into your midst, and ye have been given into the hand of an enemy.
26 Je vous contristerai par la famine; alors dix femmes cuiront vos pains dans un seul four, et on vous les distribuera à la ration; vous mangerez, et vous ne serez jamais rassasiés.
'In My breaking to you the staff of bread, then ten women have baked your bread in one oven, and have given back your bread by weight; and ye have eaten, and are not satisfied.
27 Et si après cela vous continuez de ne me point obéir, si devant moi votre marche est oblique,
'And if for this ye hearken not to Me, and have walked with Me in opposition,
28 Moi aussi je marcherai avec vous dans les voies obliques de ma colère, je vous châtierai sept fois pour vos péchés.
then I have walked with you in the fury of opposition, and have chastised you, even I, seven times for your sins.
29 Et vous mangerez les chairs de vos fils, vous mangerez les chairs de vos filles.
'And ye have eaten the flesh of your sons; even flesh of your daughters ye do eat.
30 Je renverserai vos colonnes, j'anéantirai vos sculptures de bois, et je mettrai vos cadavres sur vos idoles renversées, et mon âme vous aura en horreur.
And I have destroyed your high places, and cut down your images, and have put your carcases on the carcases of your idols, and My soul hath loathed you;
31 Je dévasterai vos villes, je désolerai vos sanctuaires, et je ne me réjouirai plus du parfum de vos sacrifices.
and I have made your cities a waste, and have made desolate your sanctuaries, and I smell not at your sweet fragrances;
32 Je rendrai déserte votre terre, et vos ennemis qui l'habitent en seront frappés d'étonnement.
and I have made desolate the land, and your enemies, who are dwelling in it, have been astonished at it.
33 Et je vous disperserai parmi les nations; le glaive se promènera sur vous; je vous détruirai, votre territoire sera abandonné et vos villes désertes.
And you I scatter among nations, and have drawn out after you a sword, and your land hath been a desolation, and your cities are a waste.
34 Alors, la terre jouira du repos sabbatique, pendant tous les jours de sa désolation.
'Then doth the land enjoy its sabbaths — all the days of the desolation, and ye in the land of your enemies — then doth the land rest, and hath enjoyed its sabbaths;
35 Et vous serez en la terre de vos ennemis, et votre terre observera le sabbat, et elle jouira du repos sabbatique; elle en jouira tous les jours de sa désolation, pour compenser tous vos sabbats violés, lorsque vous l'habitiez.
all the days of the desolation it resteth that which it hath not rested in your sabbaths in your dwelling on it.
36 Ceux d'entre vous qui survivront, je leur mettrai au cœur l'accablement de la servitude en la terre de leurs ennemis; le bruit d'une feuille emportée par le vent les mettra en fuite; ils courront comme les fuyards en une bataille, et ils tomberont sans que personne les poursuive.
'And those who are left of you — I have also brought a faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies, and the sound of a leaf driven away hath pursued them, and they have fled — flight from a sword — and they have fallen, and there is none pursuing.
37 Et, de même que dans une déroute, le frère verra son frère avec indifférence, quoique personne ne les poursuive; et vous ne pourrez résister à vos ennemis.
And they have stumbled one on another, as from the face of a sword, and there is none pursuing, and ye have no standing before your enemies,
38 Vous périrez au milieu des nations, et la terre de vos ennemis vous dévorera.
and ye have perished among the nations, and the land of your enemies hath consumed you.
39 Et ceux de vous qui survivront, pourriront à cause de leurs péchés et des péchés de leurs pères; ils seront consumés en la terre de leurs ennemis.
'And those who are left of you — they consume away in their iniquity, in the lands of your enemies; and also in the iniquities of their fathers, with them they consume away.
40 Alors, ils confesseront leurs péchés et les péchés de leurs pères, ils confesseront qu'ils ont prévariqué, qu'ils m'ont méprisé, qu'ils ont marché devant moi dans des voies obliques;
'And — they have confessed their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they have trespassed against Me, and also, that they have walked with Me, in opposition,
41 et voyant que moi aussi J'ai marché avec eux dans les voies obliques de ma colère, et que Je vais les détruire en la terre de leurs ennemis, leur cœur incirconcis se convertira, et ils reconnaîtront leurs péchés.
also I walk to them in opposition, and have brought them into the land of their enemies — or then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and then they accept the punishment of their iniquity, —
42 Et je me souviendrai de l'alliance de Jacob et de l'alliance d'Isaac; je me souviendrai de l'alliance d'Abraham.
then I have remembered My covenant [with] Jacob, and also My covenant [with] Isaac, and also My covenant [with] Abraham I remember, and the land I remember.
43 Je me souviendrai de leur pays qu'ils auront abandonné. Leur terre retrouvera ses sabbats perdus, lorsqu'elle sera désolée à cause deux, et qu'ils recevront la peine de leurs iniquités, pour avoir méprisé mes jugements et détesté mes préceptes dans leur cœur.
'And — the land is left of them, and doth enjoy its sabbaths, in the desolation without them, and they accept the punishment of their iniquity, because, even because, against My judgments they have kicked, and My statutes hath their soul loathed,
44 Cependant; lorsqu'ils étaient dans la terre de leurs ennemis, je ne les ai pas méprisés, je ne les ai pas eus en horreur jusqu'à les exterminer et rompre mon alliance avec eux; car je suis le Seigneur leur Dieu.
and also even this, in their being in the land of their enemies, I have not rejected them, nor have I loathed them, to consume them, to break My covenant with them; for I [am] Jehovah their God; —
45 Je me souviendrai de leur première alliance, lorsque je les ai fait sortir de la terre d'Egypte, de la maison de servitude, à la face des nations, pour être leur Dieu; je suis le Seigneur.
then I have remembered for them the covenant of the ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations to become their God; I [am] Jehovah.'
46 Tels sont mes jugements et mes préceptes; telle est la loi que le Seigneur a établie entre lui et les fils d'Israël sur le mont Sina, par le ministère de Moïse.
These [are] the statutes, and the judgments, and the laws, which Jehovah hath given between Him and the sons of Israel, in mount Sinai, by the hand of Moses.
