Lévitique 20
1 Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide,
2 Dis encore aux fils d'Israël: Si quelqu'un du peuple ou de ceux qui ont été faits prosélytes livre de ses enfants à Moloch, qu'il meure de mort, que les habitants de la terre le lapident.
Speke thou these thingis to the sones of Israel, If eny man of the sones of Israel, and of the comelyngis that dwellen in Israel, yyueth of his seed to the ydol Moloch, die he bi deeth; the puple of the lond schal stone him.
3 Pour moi, je tournerai ma face contre cet homme, je l'exterminerai parmi son peuple, parce qu'il aura donné de ses enfants à Moloch, profané mes choses saintes, et souillé le nom des choses qui me sont consacrées.
And Y schal sette faste my face ayens hym, and Y schal kitte awei him fro the myddis of my puple, for he yaf of his seed to Moloch, and defoulide my seyntuarie, and defoulide myn hooli name.
4 Si les fils d'Israël, habitant la terre, détournent leurs yeux de cet homme, pendant qu'il livre de ses enfants à Moloch, afin de ne pas le mettre à mort,
That if the puple of the lond is necgligent, and as litil chargynge myn heeste, and suffrith the man that yaf of his seed to Moloch, nether wole sle hym, Y schal sette my face on that man,
5 Je tournerai ma face contre cet homme et contre sa parente; je le détruirai avec tous ceux qui auront consenti à ce qu'il se prostitue aux princes; je les exterminerai parmi leur peuple.
and his kynrede, and Y schal kitte doun hym, and alle that consentiden to him, that thei schulden do fornycacioun with Moloch, fro the myddis of her puple.
6 L'âme qui suivra les ventriloques et les enchanteurs pour se prostituer après eux, je tournerai contre elle ma face, et je la détruirai parmi son peuple.
If a man bowith to astronomyers, and false dyuynours, and doith fornycacioun with hem, Y schal sette my face ayens hym, and Y schal sle hym fro the mydis of hys puple.
7 Vous serez saints, parce que je suis saint, moi le Seigneur voire Dieu.
Be ye halewid, and be ye hooli, for Y am hooli, youre Lord God.
8 Vous observerez mes préceptes et vous les mettrez en pratique; je suis le Seigneur qui vous sanctifie.
Kepe ye myn heestis, and do ye tho, for Y am the Lord that halewe you.
9 Quiconque profèrera une malédiction contre son père ou sa mère, qu'il meure de mort. A-t-il maudit son père ou sa mère, il est coupable.
He that cursith his fadir, ether modir, die bi deeth; if a man cursith fadir and modir, his blood be on hym.
10 Si un homme commet un adultère avec la femme d'autrui, avec la femme de son voisin, que l'on mette à mort l'homme et la femme adultères.
If a man doith leccherie with `the wijf of another man, and doith auowtrie with `the wijf of his neiybore, bothe auowter and auowtresse die bi deeth.
11 Si un homme dort avec la femme de son père, s'il a mis a découvert la nudité de son père, que l'homme et la femme meurent de mort; ils sont coupables tous les deux.
If a man slepith with hys stepdamme, and schewith `the schenschip of his fadir, bothe die bi deeth; her blood be on hem.
12 Si un homme dort avec sa bru, que l'un et l'autre meurent de mort; ils ont commis une impiété; ils sont coupables.
If ony man slepith with `his sones wijf, euer either die, for thei han wrouyt greet synne; her blood be on hem.
13 Si un homme a commerce avec un autre homme comme avec une femme, qu'il meurent de mort tous les deux; ils ont commis une abomination; ils sont coupables.
If a man slepith with a man, bi letcherie of a womman, euer either hath wrouyt vnleueful thing, die thei bi deeth; her blood be on hem.
14 Si un homme prend pour femmes la fille et la mère de celle-ci, il a commis une abomination; qu'on le brûle vif avec les deux femmes, et l'iniquité ne sera point au milieu de vous.
He that weddith ouer his wijf hir moder, hath wrouyt greet synne; he schal be brent quyk with hem, and so greet vnleueful doynge schal not dwelle in the myddis of you.
15 Si un homme a commerce avec un quadrupède, qu'il meure de mort; tuez aussi la bête.
He that doith letcherie with a greet beeste, ethir a litil beeste die bi deeth, also sle ye the beeste.
16 Si une femme se fait approcher par un quadrupède, tuez la femme et la bête, qu'ils meurent de mort; ils sont coupables.
A womman that liggith vndur ony beeste, be slayn togidere with it; the blood `of hem be on hem.
17 Si un homme prend sa sœur consanguine ou utérine, s'il voit sa honte et si elle voit la sienne, ils sont coupables; ils seront exterminés en présence des membres de leur famille. L'homme a mis à découvert la nudité de sa sœur; ils porteront leur péché.
He that takith his sistir `the douytir of his fadir, ether the douyter of his modir, and seeth hir filthe, and sche seeth the schenschip of the brothir, thei han wrouyt an vnleueful thing, bothe schulen be slayn in the siyt of her puple; for thei schewiden togidere her filthe, and thei schulen bere her wickidnesse.
18 Si un homme a commerce avec une femme pendant ses menstrues, et qu'il ait mis sa nudité à découvert, ils seront tous les deux exterminés du sein de leur famille: lui, pour avoir dévoilé la fontaine; elle, pour avoir montré le flux de son sang.
If a man doith fleischly knowyng with a womman in the flux of monethe, and schewith hir filthe, and sche openeth the welle of hir blood, bothe schulen be slayn fro the myddis of her puple.
19 Tu ne mettras pas à découvert la nudité de ta sœur utérine et consanguine; car ceux qui mettent à nu leur parente porteront leur péché.
Thou schalt not diskyuere the filthe of thi modris sistir, and of thi fadris sistir; he, that doith this, schal `make nakid the schenschip of his fleisch, and bothe schulen bere her wickidnesse.
20 Si quelqu'un a commerce avec une de ses parentes, et met a découvert la nudité de sa parenté, ils mourront l'un et l'autre sans enfants.
He that doith fleischli knowyng with the wijf of `his fadris brother, ether of his modris brother, and schewith the filthe of his kyn, bothe schulen bere her synne, thei schulen die without fre children.
21 Si quelqu'un prend la femme de son frère, c'est une impureté, il a mis à découvert la nudité de son frère; lui et cette femme mourront sans enfants.
He that weddith `the wijf of his brother, doith an vnleueful thing; he schewide `the filthe of his brother, he schal be without fre children.
22 Vous observerez tous mes préceptes et mes jugements, vous les mettrez en pratique; et la terre en laquelle je vous conduis pour que vous l'habitiez, ne se soulèvera pas contre vous.
Kepe ye my lawis and my domes, and do ye tho, lest the lond, in to which ye schulen entre and dwelle, caste out viliche also you.
23 Vous ne marcherez point selon les lois des nations que je vais chasser devant vous, car elles ont fait toutes ces choses, et je les ai prises en abomination.
Nyle ye go in the lawful thingis of naciouns, whiche Y schal caste out bifor you, for thei diden alle these thingis, and Y hadde abhomynacioun of hem.
24 Et je vous ai dit: Vous aurez leur terre pour héritage, je vous la donnerai en possession cette terre ou coulent le miel et le lait: je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu qui vous ai séparés de toutes les nations.
Forsothe Y speke to you, Welde ye `the lond of hem, which Y schal yyue to you in to eritage, the lond flowynge with mylk and hony; Y am youre Lord God, that departide you fro othere puplis.
25 Et vous vous séparerez vous-mêmes, distinguant entre les bêtes pures et les bêtes impures, les oiseaux purs et les oiseaux impurs, et vous ne souillerez point vos âmes avec les bestiaux, les oiseaux ou les reptiles que je vous ai désignés comme impurs.
Therfor also ye departe a cleene beeste fro vnclene, and a cleene brid fro vncleene, lest ye defoule youre soulis in a beeste, and in briddis, and in alle thingis that ben moued in erthe, and whiche thingis Y schewide to you to be defoulid.
26 Et vous serez saints pour moi, parce que je suis saint, moi, le Seigneur votre Dieu, qui vous ai séparés de toutes les nations pour être à moi.
Ye schulen be hooli to me, for `Y am the hooli Lord, and Y departide you fro othere puplis, that ye schulen be myne.
27 Tout homme ou toute femme qui sera ventriloque ou enchanteur, mourra de mort; ils seront tous deux lapidés; ils sont coupables.
A man ethir a womman, in which is an vncleene spirit spekynge in the `wombe, ethir `a spirit of fals dyuynyng, die thei bi deeth; men schulen oppresse hem bi stoonus; her blood be on hem.
