Josué 16
1 La limite des fils de Joseph part du Jourdain, en face de Jéricho, du côté de l'orient; et de Jéricho, elle monte dans les montagnes désertes de Béthel- Luza;
And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho, unto the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho by the mount Beth-el,
2 Elle traverse Béthel et côtoie les confins d'Achatarothi.
And [the boundary] went out from Beth-el to Luz, and passed along unto the boundary of the Arkites to 'Ataroth,
3 Puis, elle se rapproche de la mer à partir des confins d'Aptalim, jusqu'aux confins de Béthoron-la-Basse; c'est là qu'elle aboutit à la mer.
And went down westward to the boundary of the Yaphleti, unto the border of Beth-choron the lower, and to Gezer; and its terminations were toward the sea.
4 Les fils de Joseph, Ephraïm et Manassé, eurent là leur héritage.
This did the children of Joseph, Menasseh and Ephraim, take as their inheritance.
5 Les limites des fils d'Ephraïm s'étendirent en proportion du nombre de leurs familles. La limite de leur héritage passe, du côté de l'orient, par Ataroth et Eroc, jusqu'à Béthoron-la-Haute et à Gazara.
And [this] was the boundary of the children of Ephraim according to their families; and the boundary of their inheritance on the east side was 'Atroth-addar, up to Beth-choron the upper;
6 Elle aboutit à la mer dans Icasmon, laissant au nord Therma. Du côté de l'orient, elle tourne en Thénasa et en Sellis, et elle passe à l'orient de Janoca,
And the boundary went out toward the sea to Michmethath on the north; and the boundary fetched a compass eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Yanochah;
7 De Macho, d'Ataroth et de leurs villages; puis, elle va vers Jéricho et finit au Jourdain,
And it went down from Yanochah to 'Ataroth, and to Na'arath, and touched on Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.
8 De Tapho, elle gagne la mer Salée vers Chelcana, et elle aboutit a cette mer; tel est l'héritage des fils d'Ephraïm par familles.
From Tappuach westward the border went out unto the brook Kanah; and its terminations were toward the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim after their families;
9 Les villes qui sont attribuées aux fils d'Ephraïm sont toutes enclavées, ainsi que leurs villages, dans l'héritage des fils de Manassé.
And [in addition to this] the cities which were separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Menasseh, all the cities with their villages.
10 Les fils d'Ephraïm n'exterminèrent pas le Chananéen qui réside en Gazer; le Chananéen habita cette ville en Ephraïm, jusqu'à ce que vint le Pharaon d'Egypte, qui la prit et l'incendia. Alors, les Egyptiens tuèrent les Chananéens, les Phérézéens et tous les citoyens de Gazer, et le Pharaon la donna en dot à sa fille.
And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt among the Ephraimites until this day, and became tributary servants.
