Josué 15
1 Et les limites de la tribu de Juda, par familles, s'étendent au midi des confins de l'Idumée et du désert de Sin jusqu'à Cadès.
And the lot for the tribe of the children of Judah after their families came by the border of Edom, with the wilderness of Zin, southward, as the uttermost southern boundary.
2 Puis, elles vont du côté du midi jusqu'aux bords de la mer Salée, du côté de la colline qui regarde le midi.
And their southern boundary was from the end of the salt sea, from the bay that bendeth southward:
3 Et ensuite, elles passent devant les hauteurs d'Acrabin; elles contournent Séna; elles montent au midi de Cadès-Barné, elles sortent d'Asoron et montent à Sérada pour aller à l'occident de Cadès.
And it went out to the south of the heights of 'Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Chezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karka';
4 Et elles sortent de Selmona; puis, elles traversent le pays jusqu'au torrent d'Egypte, et finissent à la mer. Telles sont les limites de Juda du coté du midi.
And it passed on toward 'Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the terminations of the boundary were at the sea: this shall be your southern boundary.
5 A l'orient, Juda a pour limite toute la mer Salée jusqu'au Jourdain. Et au nord, en partant du Jourdain et des collines de la mer Salée,
And the east boundary was the salt sea, unto the end of the Jordan. And the boundary in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan;
6 Ses limites montent vers Bethaglaam; elles passent au nord de Betharaba; elles montent sur la roche de Béon, fils de Ruben;
And the boundary went up to Beth-choglah, and passed along by the north of Beth'arabah; and the boundary went up to Ebenbohan the son of Reuben;
7 Elles côtoient le quart de la vallée d'Acbor; elles descendent vers Galgal, qui est en face de la colline d'Adammin au midi de la vallée; elles traversent les eaux de la fontaine du Soleil, elles aboutissent à la fontaine de Rhogel.
And the boundary went up toward Debir from the Valley of 'Achor, and at the north it bent toward Gilgal, that is opposite the heights of Adummim, which is on the south side of the valley; and the boundary passed toward the waters of 'En-shemesh, and its terminations were at En-rogel;
8 Elles remontent ensuite la vallée d'Ennom, au-dessus de Jébus, la même que Jérusalem, qu'elles laissent au midi; puis, elles passent sur la cime des monts qui sont au couchant en face de la vallée d'Ennom, et au nord sur les confins de la contrée de Raphaïm.
And the boundary went up to the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite, the same is Jerusalem; and the boundary went up to the top of the mount that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of Rephaim northward;
9 De ces sommités, la limite traverse les eaux de la fontaine Naphtho, puis le mont Ephron, d'où elle descend en Baala, la même que Cariathiarim.
And the boundary extended from the top of the mount unto the spring of the waters of Nephtoach, and went out to the cities of mount 'Ephron; and the boundary extended to Ba'alah, which is Kiryath-ye'arim;
10 Elle tourne au sortir de Baala vers l'occident; elle côtoie le mont Assa au nord, au-dessus de la ville d'Iarin, la même que Chaslon; elle descend vers la Ville du Soleil, qu'elle laisse au nord.
And the boundary compassed from Ba'alah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Ye'arim, which is Kessalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah;
11 Ensuite, elle passe au nord au-dessus d'Accaron; puis, elle traverse Soccboth; puis, elle incline au midi; puis, elle passe vers Lebna, où elle finit à l'occident.
And the boundary went out unto the side of 'Ekron northward; and the boundary extended to Shikron, and passed along to the mount of Ba'alah, and went out unto Yabneel; and the terminations of the boundary were at the sea.
12 Et à l'occident la tribu de Juda a pour limite la grande mer elle-même. Telles sont les frontières qui entourent la tribu de Juda par familles.
And the west boundary was by the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the boundary of the children of Judah round about according to their families.
13 Et à Caleb, fils de Jephoné, il fut donné une part, au milieu des fils de Juda, par ordre du Seigneur; Josué lui donna la ville d'Arboc, métropole d'Enac, la même qu'Hébron.
And unto Caleb the son of Yephunneh he gave as a portion among the children of Judah, according to the order of the Lord to Joshua, Kiryath-arba' the father of 'Anak, which is Hebron.
14 Et Caleb, fils de Jephoné, y extermina les trois fils d'Enac: Susi, Tholami et Achima.
And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of 'Anak, Sheshai, and Achiman, and Talmai, the children of 'Anak.
15 De là, Caleb partit pour attaquer les habitants de Dabir, qui était autrefois la Ville des Lettres (Cariath-Sépher).
And he went up from there to the inhabitants of Debir; and the name of Debir before was Kiryath-sepher.
16 Et Caleb dit: Celui qui prendra et réduira la Ville des Lettres et s'en rendra maître, je lui donnerai pour femme ma fille Ascha.
And Caleb said, He that will smite Kiryath-sepher, and capture it, to him will I give 'Achsah my daughter for wife.
17 Et Gothoniel, fils de Cénez, de la famille de Caleb, prit la ville, et Caleb lui donna pour femme sa fille Ascha.
And 'Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, captured it; and he gave him 'Achsah his daughter for wife.
18 Pendant qu'elle s'en allait, elle se concerta avec lui, disant: Je demanderai un champ à mon père, et montée sur son âne elle cria, et Caleb lui dit: Qu'as-tu?
And it came to pass, as she came thither, that she persuaded him to ask of her father a field: and she alighted from her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What aileth thee?
19 Et elle lui dit: Accorde-moi un bienfait; tu m'as donné Nageb, donne- moi en outre un pâturage; et son père lui donna, avec Gonethla haute, Gonethla inférieure.
And she said, Give me a blessing; for a dry land hast thou given me: give me then also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.
20 Voici l'héritage de la tribu de Juda.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
21 Leurs villes furent près des confins d'Edom, vers le désert: Beseléel, Ara et Asor,
And the cities of the boundary line of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom, on the south, were Kabzeel, and 'Eder, and Yagur,
22 Icam, Rhegma et Aruel,
And Kinah, and Dimonah, and 'Ad'adah,
23 Cadès, Asorionaïn et Ménam,
And Kedesh, and Chazor, and Yithnan,
24 Balmenan et ses villages,
Ziph, and Telem, and Be'aloth,
25 Et Aseron, nommée aussi Asor,
And Chazor-chadattah, and Keriyoth-chezron, which is Chazor,
26 Sen, Salmaa et Molada,
Amam, and Shema', and Moladah,
27 Séri et Bepbalath,
And Chazar-gaddah, and Cheshmon, and Beth-palet,
28 Cholaséola, Bersabée, leurs villages et leurs hameaux;
And Chazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Bizyotheyah,
29 Bala, Bacoc et Asom,
Ba'alah, and 'Iyim, and 'Azem,
30 Elbudad, Béthel et Henna,
And Eltolad, and Kessil, and Chormah,
31 Sécelac, Macharim et Séthennac,
And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,
32 Labos, Sala et Eromoth: vingt-neuf villes avec leurs villages;
And Lebaoth, and Shilchim, and 'Ayin, and Rimmon: in all twenty and nine cities, with their villages.
33 Dans la plaine: Astaol, Rhaa et Assa,
And in the lowlands, Eshtaol, and Zor'ah, and Ashnah.
34 Rhamen, Tano, Ilouthoth et Méani,
And Zanoach, and 'En-gannim, Tappuach, and 'Enam,
35 Jermuth, Odollam, Membra, Saocho et Jazéca,
Yarmuth, and 'Adullam, Sochoh, and 'Azekah,
36 Sacarim, Gadera et leurs villages: quatorze villes et leurs villages;
And Sha'arayim, and 'Adithayim, and Gederah, and Gede-rothayim: fourteen cities with their villages.
37 Senna, Adasan et Magadalgad,
Zenan, and Chadashah, and Migdalgad,
38 Dalad, Maspha et Jacharéel,
And Dil'an, and Mizpeh, and Yoktheel,
39 Basedoth et Idéadaléa,
Lachish, and Bozkath, and 'Eglon,
40 Chabré, Machès et Maachos,
And Cabbon, and Lachmass, and Kithlish,
41 Geddor, Bagadiel, Noman et Machédan: seize villes et leurs villages;
And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Na'amah, and Makkedah: sixteen cities with their villages.
42 Lebna, Ithac et Anoch,
Libnah, and 'Ether, and 'Ashan,
43 Jana et Nasib,
And Yiphtach, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
44 Céilam, Aciézi, Césib, Bathésar et Elom: dix villes et leurs villages;
And Ke'ilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah: nine cities with their villages.
45 Accaron et ses villages et leurs hameaux;
'Ekron, with its towns and its villages:
46 Après Accaron, Gemna et toutes les villes qui sont près d'Asedoth et leurs villages;
From 'Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay alongside of Ashdod, with their villages.
47 Asiédoth et ses villages et ses hameaux, Gaza et ses villages et ses hameaux, jusqu'au torrent d'Egypte; la grande mer est sa limite;
Ashdod with its towns and its villages, Gazzah, with its towns and its villages, up to the brook of Egypt, and the great sea, and its territory.
48 Et dans les montagnes: Samir, Jéther et Socha,
And in the mountains, Shamir, and Yattir, and Sochoh,
49 Rhenna et la Ville des Lettres, la même que Dabir,
And Dannah and Kiryath-sannah, which is Debir,
50 Anon, Es, Man et Esam,
And 'Anab, and Eshtemoh, and 'Anim.
51 Gosom, Chalu, Channa et Gélom: onze villes et leurs villages;
And Goshen, and Cholon, and Giloh: eleven cities with their villages.
52 Erem, Rhemna et Soma,
Arab, and Dumah, and Esh'an,
53 Jemaïm, Béthachu et Phacua,
And Vanum, and Beth-tappuach, and Aphekah,
54 Eyma, Cariath-Arboc, la même qu'Hébron et Soraïth: onze villes et leurs villages;
And Chumtah, and Kiryath-arba', which is Hebron, and Zi'or: nine cities with their villages.
55 Maor, Carmel, Ozib et Itan,
Ma'on, Carmel, and Ziph, and Yutah,
56 Jariel, Aricam et Zacanaïm,
And Yizre'el, and Yokde'am, and Zanoach,
57 Gabaa et Thamnatha: neuf villes et leurs villages;
Kayin, Gib'ah, and Timnah: ten cities with their villages.
58 Elua, Bethsur et Geddon,
Chatchul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,
59 Magaroth, Béthanam et Thécum: six villes et leurs villages;
And Ma'arath, and Beth-'anoth, and Eltekon: six cities with their village.
60 Théco, Ephrata, la même que Bethléem, Phagor, Etan, Culon, Tatam, Thobès, Carem, Galem, Théther et Manocho: onze villes et leurs villages; Cariath- Baal, la même que Cariathiarim et Sothéba: deux villes et leurs villages;
Kiryath-baal, which is Kiryath-ye'arim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.
61 Baddargis, Tharabaam et Enon,
In the wilderness, Beth-ha'arabah, Middin, and Sechachah,
62 Et Eochiosa et Naphlazon, et les villes de Sadon et d'Ancadès: sept villes et leurs villages.
And Nibshan, and 'Ir-hammelach, and 'En-gedi: six cities with their villages.
63 Or, le Jébuséen habitait Jérusalem, et les fils de Juda ne purent les détruire; les Jébuséens ont ainsi demeuré en Jérusalem jusqu'à ce jour.
As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, these the children of Judah could not drive out; but the Jebusites dwelt with the children of Judah at Jerusalem, even unto this day.
