Job 6
1 Job reprenant dit:
Bvt Iob answered, and said,
2 Plût à Dieu que l'on mît à la fois dans une balance ma colère et mes douleurs;
Oh that my griefe were well weighed, and my miseries were layed together in the balance.
3 Celles-ci pèseraient plus que le sable du rivage de la mer; mais, à ce qu'il me semble, mes paroles sont en efficacité.
For it woulde be nowe heauier then the sande of the sea: therefore my wordes are swallowed vp.
4 Car j'ai dans le corps les traits du Seigneur; leur courroux boit mon sang, et dès que je commence à discourir, ils me percent.
For the arrowes of the Almightie are in me, the venime whereof doeth drinke vp my spirit, and the terrours of God fight against me.
5 Mais quoi! Est-ce sans motif que l'âne sauvage se met à braire, ou parce qu'il demande à manger? Et le bœuf mugit-il devant une crèche pleine de fourrage?
Doeth the wilde asse bray when he hath grasse? or loweth the oxe when he hath fodder?
6 Mange-t-on le pain sans sel? Et trouve-t-on du goût aux paroles vaines?
That which is vnsauerie, shall it be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egge?
7 Pour moi, les aliments que l'on me sert, maintenant que je suis en proie à une colère qui ne me laisse point de repos, ont une odeur comme celle du lion.
Such things as my soule refused to touch, as were sorowes, are my meate.
8 Puisse ma prière être exaucée, puisse le Seigneur m'accorder ce que j'espère.
Oh that I might haue my desire, and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!
9 Le Seigneur a commencé, qu'il m'achève; qu'il mette fin à mes maux par une prompte mort.
That is, that God would destroy me: that he would let his hand go, and cut me off.
10 Puisse ma ville être un sépulcre dont je franchisse le mur d'un saut; je n'hésiterais pas; car je n'ai jamais éludé les saintes volontés de mon Dieu.
Then should I yet haue comfort, (though I burne with sorowe, let him not spare) because I haue not denyed the wordes of the Holy one.
11 Quelle est donc ma force pour subsister? Combien de temps encore ma vie me soutiendra-t-elle?
What power haue I that I should endure? or what is mine end, if I should prolong my life?
12 Ai-je la fermeté de la pierre? Mes chairs sont-elles d'airain?
Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brasse?
13 Est-ce que je n'avais pas mis ma confiance en Dieu? Mais tout secours s'est éloigné de moi.
Is it not so, that there is in me no helpe? and that strength is taken from me?
14 La miséricorde m'a méconnu; l'œil vigilant du Seigneur m'a méprisé.
He that is in miserie, ought to be comforted of his neighbour: but men haue forsaken the feare of the Almightie.
15 Mes proches ne m'ont point regardé; ils m'ont quitté rapides comme un torrent; ils ont passé près de moi comme un flot.
My brethre haue deceiued me as a brook, and as the rising of the riuers they passe away.
16 Ceux qui me révéraient, je vois maintenant qu'ils s'étaient attachés à moi comme la neige ou la glace,
Which are blackish with yee, and wherein the snowe is hid.
17 Qui fondent au retour de la chaleur, tellement que l'on ne peut retracer ce qu'elles étaient.
But in time they are dryed vp with heate and are consumed: and when it is hote they faile out of their places,
18 C'est ainsi qu'ils m'ont tous abandonné; j'ai péri et je suis devenu un homme sans asile.
Or they depart from their way and course, yea, they vanish and perish.
19 Regardez les chemins de Théman et les sentiers de Sadeba, vous qui voyez parfaitement.
They that go to Tema, considered them, and they that goe to Sheba, waited for them.
20 Ils auront à rougir de honte, ceux qui se croient forts parce qu'ils possèdent des villes et des richesses.
But they were confounded: when they hoped, they came thither and were ashamed.
21 Et vous, vous êtes venus à moi sans pitié; et quand vous avez vu ma plaie, vous avez eu peur.
Surely nowe are ye like vnto it: ye haue seene my fearefull plague, and are afraide.
22 Qu'y a-t-il? Vous ai-je demandés? Est-ce que j'attends de vous quelque force
Was it because I said, Bring vnto me? or giue a rewarde to me of your substance?
23 Pour me sauver de mes ennemis et me protéger contre les puissants?
And deliuer me from the enemies hande, or ransome me out of the hand of tyrants?
24 Instruisez-moi et je garderai le silence; si j'ai erré en quoi que ce soit, ne tardez pas à me le dire.
Teach me, and I wil hold my tongue: and cause me to vnderstande, wherein I haue erred.
25 Mais, à ce qu'il me semble, les discours d'un homme sincère sont sans efficacité, et je n'attends de vous aucune force.
Howe stedfast are the wordes of righteousnes? and what can any of you iustly reproue?
26 Vos réprimandes ne me rendront même pas le calme, et je suis importuné par le bruit de vos paroles.
Doe ye imagine to reproue wordes, that the talke of the afflicted should be as the winde?
27 En effet vous tombez sur un orphelin; vous vous jetez sur votre ami.
Ye make your wrath to fall vpon the fatherlesse, and dig a pit for your friende.
28 Puisque je vous ai vus en face, je ne dissimulerai rien.
Nowe therefore be content to looke vpon me: for I will not lie before your face.
29 Demeurez; entre nous point d'iniquité, remettez-vous d'accord avec un juste.
Turne, I pray you, let there be none iniquitie: returne, I say, and ye shall see yet my righteousnesse in that behalfe.
30 Car ma langue dit-elle rien qui ne soit équitable; et mon gosier donne-t- il passage à des paroles étudiées?
Is there iniquitie in my tongue? doeth not my mouth feele sorowes?
