Jérémie 41
1 Parole du Seigneur qui vint à Jérémie quand Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, et toute son armée et toute la terre qu'il gouvernait, combattirent contre Jérusalem et contre toutes les villes de Juda, disant:

2 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Va trouver Sédécias, roi de Juda, et dis-lui: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Cette ville sera livrée au roi de Babylone, et il la prendra, et il la brûlera par le feu.
Forsothe Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, and the ten men that weren with hym, risiden vp, and killiden bi swerd Godolie, the sone of Aicham, sone of Saphan; and thei killiden hym, whom the kyng of Babiloyne hadde maad souereyn of the lond.
3 Et tu n'échapperas pas de ses mains; mais tu seras pris, tu seras livré entre ses mains, et tes yeux verront ses yeux, et tu iras à Babylone,
Also Ismael killide alle the Jewis, that weren with Godolie in Masphath, and the Caldeis, that weren foundun there, and the men werriours.
4 Cependant, écoute la parole du Seigneur, Sédécias, roi de Juda; voici ce que dit le Seigneur:
Forsothe in the secounde dai, aftir that he hadde slayn Godolie, while no man wiste yit,
5 Tu mourras en paix; et, comme on a pleuré tes pères qui ont régné avant toi, on te pleurera aussi, disant: Hélas! Seigneur! et à ta mort on se frappera la poitrine à cause de toi; car telle est la sentence que j'ai prononcée, dit le Seigneur.

6 Ainsi Jérémie dit toutes ces paroles au roi Sédécias en Jérusalem.

7 Et l'armée du roi de Babylone combattait contre Jérusalem et contre les villes de Juda Lachis et Azica; car parmi les villes fortes de Juda celles-là n'étaient pas encore prises.
and whanne thei weren comun to the myddis of the citee, Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, killide hem aboute the myddis of the lake, he and the men that weren with hym `killiden hem.
8 Voici la parole du Seigneur qui vint à Jérémie après que le roi Sédécias eut fait alliance avec le peuple pour publier la remise;
But ten men weren foundun among hem, that seiden to Ismael, Nyle thou sle vs, for we han tresour of wheete, and of barli, and of oile, and of hony, in the feeld. And he ceesside, and killide not hem with her britheren.
9 Afin que chacun affranchît son serviteur et sa servante, que l'Hébreu des deux sexes fût libre, et qu'il n'y eût plus de servitude en Juda.
Forsothe the lake in to which Ismael castide forth alle the careyns of men, whiche he killide for Godolie, is thilke lake, which kyng Asa made for Baasa, the kyng of Israel; Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, fillide that lake with slayn men.
10 Et tous les grands changèrent d'avis, et tout le peuple qui était entré dans l'alliance, pour que chacun affranchît son serviteur et sa servante, et ils affranchirent
And Ismael ledde prisoneris alle the remenauntis of the puple, that weren in Mesphath, the douytris of the kyng, and al the puple that dwelliden in Masphath, whiche Nabusardan, the prince of chyualrie, hadde bitakun to kepyng to Godolie, the sone of Aicham. And Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, took hem, and yede to passe ouer to the sones of Amon.
11 Leurs serviteurs et leurs servantes.
Forsothe Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of werriouris, that weren with hym, herden al the yuel, which Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, hadde do.
12 Et la parole du Seigneur vint à Jérémie, disant:
And whanne thei hadden take alle men, thei yeden forth to fiyte ayens Ismael, the sone of Nathanye; and thei foundun hym at the many watris, that ben in Gabaon.
13 Ainsi parle le Seigneur: J'ai fait alliance avec vos pères le jour où je les ai ramenés d'Égypte, de la maison de servitude, disant:
And whanne al the puple, that was with Ismael, hadden seyn Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of werriouris, that weren with hym, thei weren glad.
14 Lorsque six années seront révolues, tu affranchiras ton frère hébreu qui t'aura été vendu, et qui aura travaillé six ans pour toi; alors tu le renverras libre. Et ils ne m'ont pas écouté, et ils n'ont point prêté l'oreille à mes commandements.
And al the puple, whom Ismael hadde take in Masphath, turnede ayen; and it turnede ayen, and yede to Johannan, the sone of Caree.
15 Et aujourd'hui ils se sont convertis, voulant faire ce qui est juste à mes yeux, pour que chacun proclamât la libération de son prochain; et ils ont fait alliance devant moi dans le temple où mon nom est invoqué.
Forsothe Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, fledde with eiyte men fro the face of Johannan, and yede to the sones of Amon.
16 Puis vous avez changé d'avis et vous avez profané mon nom en promettant que chacun affranchirait son serviteur et sa servante; et vous ne les avez point renvoyés libres, maîtres d'eux-mêmes; vous les avez gardés, serviteurs et servantes.
Therfor Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of werriours, that weren with hym, token alle the remenauntis of the comyn puple, whiche thei brouyten ayen fro Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, that weren of Masphat, aftir that he killide Godolie, the sone of Aicham; he took strong men to batel, and wymmen, and children, and geldyngis, whiche he hadde brouyt ayen fro Gabaon.
17 A cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Vous ne m'avez point écouté pour proclamer la libération de vos frères. Et moi, voilà que je proclame votre expulsion par le glaive, par la peste et par la famine; je vous disperserai dans tous les royaumes de la terre.
And thei yeden, and saten beynge pilgryms in Canaan, which is bisidis Bethleem, that thei schulden go, and entre in to Egipt fro the face of Caldeis;
18 Et je livrerai les hommes qui ont rompu mon alliance, qui n'ont point maintenu l'alliance faite devant moi et confirmée par le veau qu'ils avaient préparé pour le sacrifice;
for thei dredden thilke Caldeis, for Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, hadde slayn Godolie, the sone of Aicham, whom the kyng Nabugodonosor hadde maad souereyn in the lond of Juda.
19 Ainsi que les princes de Juda, et les grands, et les prêtres, et le peuple.
20 Et je les livrerai à leurs ennemis; et leurs cadavres seront en pâture aux oiseaux du ciel et aux bêtes des champs.
21 Et je livrerai aux mains de leurs ennemis Sédécias, roi de Judée, et ses princes; car l'armée du roi de Babylone ramènera ceux qui s'étaient quelque temps éloignés d'eux.
22 Voilà ce que j'ordonne, dit le Seigneur: Je les ramènerai sur cette terre, et ils combattront contre elle, et ils la prendront, et ils la brûleront par le feu; et je ferai des villes de Juda un désert où il n'y aura point d'habitants.
