Jérémie 39
1 Parole du Seigneur, qui vint à Jérémie en la dixième année du règne de Sédécias; cette année était la dix-huitième du règne de Nabuchodonosor à Babylone.
The word that came from the Lord to Jeremias in the tenth year of king Sedekias, this is the eighteenth year of king Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon.
2 Et l'armée du roi de Babylone planta des palissades autour de Jérusalem, et Jérémie était gardé dans le préau qui est dans le palais du roi,
And the host of the king of Babylon had made a rampart against Jerusalem: and Jeremias was kept in the court of the prison, which is in the king's house;
3 Où l'avait renfermé Sédécias, disant: Pourquoi prophétises-tu, disant: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Voilà que je livre cette ville au roi de Babylone; et il la prendra,
in which king Sedekias [had] shut him up, saying, Therefore do you prophesy, saying, Thus says the Lord, Behold, I [will] give this city into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
4 Et Sédécias n'échappera pas aux Chaldéens; car très certainement il sera livré aux mains du roi de Babylone, et il lui parlera face à face, et ses yeux verront ses yeux;
and Sedekias shall by no means be delivered out of the hand of the Chaldeans, for he shall certainly be given up into the hands of the king of Babylon, and his mouth shall speak to his mouth, and his eyes shall look upon his eyes;
5 Et Sédécias sera emmené à Babylone, et il y restera?
and Sedekias shall go into Babylon, and dwell there?
6 Et la parole du Seigneur vint donc à Jérémie, disant:
AND THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME TO JEREMIAS, SAYING,
7 Voilà que Anaméhel, fils de Salom, frère de ton père, va venir le trouver, disant: Achète pour toi mon champ d'Anathoth, parce qu'il est juste que tu le possèdes en l'achetant.
Behold, Anameel the son of Salom your father's brother is coming to you, saying, Buy you my field that is in Anathoth: for you [have] the right to take [it] as a purchase.
8 Et Anaméhel, fils de Salom, frère de mon père, vint me trouver dans le préau de la prison, et me dit: Achète pour toi mon champ en la terre de Benjamin en Anathoth, parce que tu as le droit de l'acheter, étant le plus ancien. Et je reconnus que c'était la parole du Seigneur.
So Anameel the son of Salom my father's brother came to me into the court of the prison, and said, Buy you my field that is in the land of Benjamin, in Anathoth: for you [have] a right to buy it, and you are the elder. So I knew that it was the word of the Lord.
9 Et j'achetai le champ d'Anaméhel, fils du frère de mon père, et je pesai pour lui sept sicles et dix pièces d'argent.
And I bought the field of Anameel the son of my father's brother, and I weighed him seventeen shekels of silver.
10 Et je fis un écrit, je le scellai, et je pris des témoins, et je mis l'argent dans la balance.
And I wrote [it] in a book, and sealed [it], and took the testimony of witnesses, and weighed the money in the balance.
11 Et je gardai l'écrit d'acquisition scellé,
And I took the book of the purchase that was sealed;
12 Et je le remis à Baruch, fils de Nérias, fils de Maaie, sons les yeux d'Anaméhel, fils du frère de mon père, et sous les yeux des hommes qui étaient là, et dont le nom était écrit dans Pacte d'acquisition, et sous les yeux des Juifs se trouvant dans le préau de la prison.
and I gave it to Baruch son of Nerias, son of Maasaeas, in the sight of Anameel my father's brother's son, and in the sight of the men that stood by and wrote in the book of the purchase, and in the sight of the Jews that were in the court of the prison.
13 Et je donnai mes ordres à Baruch sous leurs yeux, disant:
And I charged Baruch in their presence, saying, Thus says the Lord Almighty;
14 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur tout-puissant: Prends cet acte d'acquisition, acte que tu as lu, et mets-le dans un pot de terre, afin qu'il soit conservé longtemps;
Take this book of the purchase, and the book that has been read; and you shall put it into an earthen vessel, that it may remain many days.
15 Car voici ce que dit le Seigneur: On bâtira encore ici des maisons; on cultivera encore des champs et des vignes en cette terre.
For thus says the Lord; There shall yet be bought fields and houses and vineyards in this land.
16 Et je priai le Seigneur, après avoir remis l'acte d'acquisition à Baruch, fils de Nérias, disant:
And I prayed to the Lord after I had given the book of the purchase to Baruch the son of Nerias, saying,
17 Ô Dieu vivant, Seigneur, vous avez créé le ciel et la terre par votre toute-puissance et la force de votre bras; rien ne vous est caché.
O [ever] living Lord! you have made the heaven and the earth by your great power, and with your high and lofty arm: nothing can be hidden from you.
18 Vous faites miséricorde à des milliers de générations, et vous reversez la punition des péchés des pères dans le sein de leurs enfants, après eux: ô Dieu, plein de grandeur et de force,
Granting mercy to thousands, and recompensing the sins of the fathers into the bosoms of their children after them: the great, the strong God;
19 Seigneur, vos desseins sont grands, vous êtes puissant en vos œuvres; ô Dieu, grand et tout-puissant, Seigneur, dont le nom est grand, vos yeux sont sur les voies des fils des hommes pour rétribuer chacun selon sa voie.
the Lord of great counsel, and mighty in deeds, the great Almighty God, and Lord of great name: your eyes are upon the ways of the children of men, to give to every one according to his way:
20 C'est vous qui jusqu'à ce jour avez multiplié les signes et les prodiges en la terre d'Égypte et en Israël, et parmi les enfants de la terre; et vous avez fait votre nom tel qu'il est aujourd'hui.
who have wrought signs and wonders in the land of Egypt even to this day, and in Israel, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and you did make for yourself a name, as at this day;
21 Et vous avez ramené votre peuple Israël de la terre d'Égypte, par vos signes et vos prodiges, par votre main puissante, par votre bras souverain et par de grandes visions;
and you did bring out your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, with a mighty hand, and with a high arm, and with great sights;
22 Et vous leur avez donné cette terre que vous aviez promise avec serment à leurs pères, et où coulent le lait et le miel.
and you gave them this land, which you did swear [to give] to their fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey;
23 Et ils y sont entrés, et ils l'ont prise, et ils n'ont plus écouté votre voix, et ils n'ont point marché selon vos commandements; ils n'ont point fait tout ce que vous leur aviez prescrit, et ils sont cause de tous les maux qui leur sont arrivés.
and they went in, and took it; but they listened not to your voice, and walked not in your ordinances; they did none of the things which you did command them, and they caused all these calamities to happen to them.
24 Voilà qu'une multitude est venue contre cette ville pour la prendre, et la ville a été livrée aux Chaldéens, qui lui font la guerre par le glaive et la famine; et comme vous l'aviez dit il est advenu.
Behold, a multitude is come against the city to take it; and the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans that fight against it, by the power of the sword, and the famine: as you have spoken, so has it happened.
25 Et vous m'avez dit: Achète un champ à prix d'argent, et j'ai fait l'écrit et je l'ai scellé, et j'ai pris des témoins, et la ville a été livrée aux Chaldéens.
And you say to me, Buy you the field for money; and I wrote a book, and sealed [it], and took the testimony of witnesses: and the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans.
26 Et la parole du Seigneur vint à moi, disant:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
27 Je suis le Seigneur Dieu de toute chair; est-ce que quelque chose m'est caché?
I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: shall anything be hidden from me!
28 C'est pourquoi voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël: Cette ville sera livrée au roi de Babylone, et il la prendra,
Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel; This city shall certainly be delivered into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it:
29 Et les Chaldéens viendront combattre cette ville, et ils la brûleront par le feu, et ils brûleront les maisons où sur les terrasses on brûlait de l'encens à Baal, et où l'on faisait des libations à des dieux étrangers, afin de m'exaspérer.
and the Chaldeans shall come to war against this city, and they shall burn this city with fire, and shall burn down the houses wherein they burnt incense on the roofs thereof to Baal, and poured drink-offerings to other gods, to provoke me.
30 Car les fils d'Israël et les fils de Juda ont été les seuls à faire le mal, sous mes yeux, depuis leur jeunesse;
For the children of Israel and the children of Juda alone did evil in my sight from their youth.
31 Car cette ville a toujours été le sujet de mon indignation et de ma colère, depuis le jour où ils l'ont bâtie jusqu'à ce jour; il faut qu'elle disparaisse de ma présence,
For this city was [obnoxious] to my anger and my wrath, from the day that they built it even to this day; that I should remove it from my presence,
32 En punition de tous les péchés d'Israël et de Juda, qu'ils ont commis pour m'exaspérer, eux et leurs rois, leurs princes, leurs prêtres et leurs prophètes, hommes de Juda et habitants de Jérusalem;
because of all the wickedness of the children of Israel and Juda, which they wrought to provoke me, they and their kings, and their princes, and their priests, and their prophets, the men of Juda, and the dwellers in Jerusalem.
33 Ils m'ont tourné le dos au lieu de me regarder en face; je les avais instruits dès l'aurore, et ils ont refusé d'accueillir mon enseignement.
And they turned the back to me, and not the face: whereas I taught them early in the morning, but they listened no more to receive instructions.
34 Et ils ont fait leurs profanations, au milieu de leurs impuretés, dans la maison où mon nom était invoqué.
And they set their pollutions in the house, on which my name was called, by their uncleannesses.
35 Et ils ont élevé à Baal des autels dans la vallée des fils d'Énnom, pour offrir leurs fils et leurs filles au roi Moloch, choses que je ne leur ai point commandées; car il n'est jamais entré dans mon cœur qu'ils fissent pareille abomination pour induire Israël à pécher.
And they built to Baal the altars that are in the valley of the son of Ennom, to offer their sons and their daughters to king Moloch; which things I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind that they should do this abomination, to cause Juda to sin.
36 Et maintenant voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël sur la ville dont tu parles: Elle sera livrée au roi de Babylone par le glaive, par la famine et par l'exil.
And now thus has the Lord God of Israel said concerning this city, of which you say, it shall be delivered into the hands of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by famine, and banishment.
37 Et voilà que je les rassemblerai de toutes les parties de la terre où je les aurai dispersés dans les transports de mon indignation et de ma fureur extrême; et je les ramènerai en ce lieu, et je les y ferai demeurer en assurance.
Behold, I [will] gather them out of every land, where I have scattered them in my anger, and my wrath, and great fury; and I will bring them back into this place, and will cause them to dwell safely:
38 Et ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu.
and they shall be to me a people, and I will be to them a god.
39 Et je leur donnerai une autre voie et un autre cœur, afin qu'ils me craignent tous les jours pour leur bien et pour le bien de leurs enfants après eux.
And I will give them another way, and another heart, to fear me continually, and [that] for good to them and their children after them.
40 Et je ferai avec eux une alliance éternelle que je ne détruirai point après eux; et je donnerai à leur cœur la crainte de mon nom pour qu'ils ne s'éloignent plus de moi.
And I will make with them an everlasting covenant, which I will by no means turn away from them, and I will put my fear into their heart, that they may not depart from me.
41 Et je les visiterai pour leur faire du bien, et je les planterai en cette terre fidèle, de tout mon cœur et de toute mon âme;
And I will visit [them] to do them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, and with all my heart, and with all [my] soul.
42 Car voici ce que dit le Seigneur: De même que j'ai amené sur ce peuple tous ces grands maux, de même je lui amènerai tous les biens que je lui ai promis.
For thus says the Lord; As I have brought upon this people all these great evils, so will I bring upon them all the good things which I pronounced upon them.
43 Et on achètera encore des champs en cette terre, dont tu as dit: Elle sera abandonnée des hommes et des bêtes, et ils ont été livrés aux Chaldéens.
And there shall yet be fields bought in the land, of which you say, it shall be destitute of man and beast; and they are delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans.
44 Et l'on achètera des champs à prix d'argent. Et tu feras un écrit, et tu le scelleras, et tu prendras des témoins en la terre de Benjamin et autour de Jérusalem, et dans les villes de Juda, et dans les villes des montagnes, et dans les villes de Séphila, et dans les villes de Nacheb; parce que je ramènerai leurs captifs.
And they shall buy fields for money, and you shall write a book, and seal [it], and shall take the testimony of witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and round about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Juda, and in the cities of the mountain, and in the cities of the plain, and in the cities of the south: for I will turn their captivity.
