Isaïe 7
1 Et dans les jours d'Achaz, fils de Joatham, fils d'Ozias, roi de Juda, il arriva que Rasin, roi d'Aram, et Phacée, fils de Romélie, roi d'Israël, marchèrent contre Jérusalem pour lui faire la guerre; mais ils ne purent la tenir assiégée.
And it was don in the daies of Achas, the sone of Joathan, the sone of Osias, kyng of Juda, Rasyn, the kyng of Sirie, and Facee, the sone of Romelie, the kyng of Israel, stieden to Jerusalem, for to fiyte ayens it; and thei myyten not ouercome it.
2 Et un message fut apporté en la maison de David, disant: Aram est coalisé avec Éphraïm. Et l'âme du roi fut saisie de stupeur, ainsi que l'âme de son peuple; comme dans une forêt les feuilles sont agitées par le vent.
And thei telden to the hous of Dauid, and seiden, Sirie hath restid on Effraym, and the herte of hym and of his puple was mouyd togidere, as the trees of wodis ben mouyd of the face of the wynd.
3 Et le Seigneur dit à Isaïe: Va à la rencontre d'Achaz, toi et ton fils Jasub qui te reste; prends le chemin d'en haut dans le champ du Foulon près la piscine;
And the Lord seide to Isaie, Go thou out, and Jasub, thi sone, which is left, in to the meetyng of Achas, at the laste ende of the water cundijt of the hiyere cisterne, in the weie of the feeld of the fullere.
4 Et dis au roi: Tiens-toi en repos, et sois sans crainte; que ton âme ne soit pas abattue par ces deux bouts de tison qui fument; car, lorsque le transport de ma colère éclatera, je te guérirai encore une fois.
And thou schalt seie to hym, Se thou, that thou be stille; nyle thou drede, and thin herte be not aferd of twei tailis of these brondis smokynge in the wraththe of woodnesse, of Rasyn, kynge of Sirie, and of the sone of Romelye.
5 Quant au fils d'Aram et au fils de Romélie, parce qu'ils ont conçu un mauvais dessein, disant:
For Sirie, and Effraym, and the sone of Romelie, han bigunne yuel councel ayens thee, and seien, Stie we to Juda,
6 Montons en Judée, et, nous liguant contre eux, soumettons-les à nous, et donnons-leur pour roi le fils de Tabéel;
and reise we hym, and drawe we hym out to vs; and sette we a kyng in the myddis therof, the sone of Tabeel.
7 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées: Ce complot ne subsistera pas, il ne s'accomplira point.
The Lord God seith these thingis, This schal not be, and it schal not stonde;
8 Mais Damas restera la capitale de Syrie, et Rasin, roi de Damas. Et soixante-cinq ans encore, le royaume d'Éphraïm cessera d'être un peuple,
but Damask schal be the heed of Sirie, and Rasyn `schal be the heed of Damask; and yit sixti yeer and fiue, and Effraym schal faile to be a puple;
9 Et Samarie, la capitale d'Éphraïm, et le fils de Romélie, la capitale de Samarie. Et si vous ne me croyez point, c'est que vous manquerez d'intelligence.
and Samarie shal faile to be the heed of Effraym, and the sone of Romelie `schal faile to be heed of Samarie. Forsothe if ye schulen not bileue, ye schulen not dwelle.
10 Et le Seigneur continua de parler à Achaz, disant:
And the Lord addide to speke to Achas,
and seide, Axe thou to thee a signe of thi Lord God, in to the depthe of helle, ethir in to heiythe aboue. (Sheol h7585)
12 Et Achaz dit: Non, je ne demanderai rien, et je ne tenterai point le Seigneur.
And Achas seide, Y schal not axe, and Y schal not tempte the Lord.
13 Et le Seigneur reprit: Écoutez donc, maison de David. Est-ce pour vous si peu de chose que de soutenir une lutte contre des hommes? Et comment soutiendrez-vous une lutte contre Dieu?
And Ysaie seide, Therfor the hous of Dauid, here ye; whether it is litil to you to be diseseful to men, for ye ben diseseful also to my God?
14 C'est pourquoi le Seigneur lui-même vous donnera un signe. Voilà que la Vierge concevra dans son sein, et elle enfantera un fils, et tu lui donneras le nom d'Emmanuel.
For this thing the Lord hym silf schal yyue a signe to you. Lo! a virgyn schal conseyue, and schal bere a sone; and his name schal be clepid Emanuel.
15 Il mangera du beurre et du miel, avant de savoir discerner le mal ou choisir le bien.
He schal ete botere and hony, that he kunne repreue yuel, and cheese good.
16 Aussi même avant de connaître le bien et le mal, cet enfant rejettera le mal, pour choisir le bien. Et cette terre, que tu crains, elle sera abandonnée de la présence de ces deux rois.
For whi bifore that the child kunne repreue yuel, and chese good, the lond, which thou wlatist, schal be forsakun of the face of her twei kyngis.
17 Et le Seigneur enverra sur toi, et sur ton peuple, et sur la maison de ton père, des jours tels qu'il n'en est point venu depuis le jour où Éphraïm a repoussé de Juda le roi des Assyriens.
The Lord schal brynge on thee, and on thi puple, and on the hous of thi fadir, daies that camen not fro the daies of departyng of Effraym fro Juda, with the kyng of Assiriens.
18 Et voici ce qui arrivera: en ce jour le Seigneur sifflera pour appeler les mouches qui dominent sur une partie du fleuve d'Égypte, et les abeilles qui sont dans la région d'Assyrie.
And it schal be, in that dai the Lord schal hisse to a flie, which is in the laste parte of the floodis of Egipt; and to a bee, which is in the lond of Assur;
19 Et elles viendront toutes dans les vallons de la terre, et dans les creux des rochers, et dans les cavernes, et dans tous les ravins.
and `alle so schulen come, and schulen reste in the strondis of valeis, and in caues of stoonis, and in alle places of buyschis, and in alle hoolis.
20 Ce jour-là, avec un rasoir loué sur les rives du fleuve du roi assyrien, le Seigneur rasera la tête de son peuple, et lui ôtera les poils de ses pieds et de sa barbe.
And in that dai the Lord schal schaue with a scharp rasour in these men, that ben biyendis the flood, in the kyng of Assiriens, the heed, and heeris of the feet, and al the beerd.
21 Et en ce jour un homme à peine nourrira une vache et deux brebis.
And it schal be, in that day a man schal nurische a cow of oxis, and twei scheep,
22 Et, au lieu de boire du lait en abondance, tout homme resté dans la contrée à peine y mangera du beurre et du miel.
and for the plentee of mylk he schal ete botere; for whi ech man that schal be left in the myddis of the lond, schal ete boter and hony.
23 Et en ce jour il arrivera que tout lieu où il y aura eu des milliers de vignes, estimées des milliers de sicles, sera aride et couvert de ronces.
And it schal be, in that dai ech place where a thousand vyneris schulen be worth a thousynde platis of siluer, and schulen be in to thornes and breeris,
24 On y entrera avec l'arc et la flèche, parce que toute la terre sera aride et couverte de ronces;
men schulen entre thidur with bouwis and arowis; for whi breris and thornes schulen be in al the lond.
25 Et toute montagne jadis labourée sera inculte. Et la crainte ne l'envahira plus; car, à cause de son aridité et de ses ronces, ce ne sera plus qu'un pâturage pour les brebis et un passage pour les bœufs.
And alle hillis that schulen be purgid with a sarpe, the drede of thornes and of breris schal not come thidir; and it schal be in to lesewe of oxen, and in to treding of scheep.
