Isaïe 63
1 Quel est Celui qui vient d'Édom, avec un manteau rouge; qui vient de Bosra, si beau dans sa robe, si redoutable dans sa force? C'est moi qui viens parler sur la justice et le jugement de salut.
Who is this that is come from Edom, [with] red garments from Bosor? thus fair in his apparel, with mighty strength? I speak of righteousness and saving judgment.
2 Pourquoi tes vêtements sont-ils rouges, comme s'ils sortaient du pressoir?
Therefore are your garments red, and your raiment as [if fresh] from a trodden winepress?
3 Je suis plein de la grappe foulée, et nul homme des nations n'est venu avec moi; je les ai foulés dans ma colère, je les ai broyés comme de la poudre, et j'ai fait couler leur sang sur la terre.
I am full of trodden [grape], and of the nations there is not a man with me; and I trampled them in my fury, and dashed them to pieces as earth, and brought down their blood to the earth.
4 Car voici le jour de ma vengeance pour eux, et voici l'année de la Rédemption.
For the day of recompence has come upon them, and the year of redemption is at hand.
5 J'ai promené mes regards, et nul n'est venu me secourir; j'ai cherché, et je n'ai trouvé nul secours. Et mon bras les a délivrés, et ma colère est survenue.
And I looked, and there was no helper; and I observed, and none upheld: therefore my arm delivered them, and mine anger drew near.
6 Je les ai foulés dans ma fureur, et j'ai fait couler leur sang à terre.
And I trampled them in mine anger, and brought down their blood to the earth.
7 Je me suis souvenu de la miséricorde et des vertus du Seigneur, en toutes les grâces qu'il nous a faites. Le Seigneur est un juge bienveillant pour la maison d'Israël; il nous traite selon sa miséricorde et selon la plénitude de sa justice.
I remembered the mercy of the Lord, the praises of the Lord in all things wherein he recompenses us. The Lord is a good judge to the house of Israel; he deals with us according to his mercy, and according to the abundance of his righteousness.
8 Il a dit: N'est-ce pas mon peuple? Mes enfants ne me répudieront pas! Et il a été leur salut.
And he said, Is it not my people? the children surely will not be rebellious: and he became to them deliverance
9 En toutes leurs afflictions, ce n'est point un ambassadeur ni un ange, mais lui-même qui les a sauvés, parce qu'il les aime, et qu'il les a épargnés. Il les a lui-même rachetés, il les a relevés, il les a glorifiés dans tous les siècles écoulés.
out of all their affliction: not an ambassador, nor a messenger, but himself saved them, because he loved them and spared them: he himself redeemed them, and took them up, and lifted them up all the days of old.
10 Mais ils ont désobéi, ils ont irrité son Esprit-Saint. Et il les a pris en haine, et lui-même a combattu contre eux.
But they disobeyed, and provoked his Holy Spirit: so he turned to be an enemy, he himself contended against them.
11 Puis il s'est souvenu des jours antiques, disant: Où est celui qui a fait sortir de la mer le pasteur des brebis? Où est celui qui a placé en eux son Esprit-Saint?
Then he remembered the ancient days, [saying], Where is he that brought up from the sea the shepherd of the sheep? where is he that put his Holy Spirit in them?
12 Où est celui qui a conduit Moïse de sa main droite et de son bras glorieux? Il a dompté les flots devant lui pour se donner à lui-même un nom éternel.
who led Moses with his right hand, the arm of his glory? he forced the water [to separate] from before him, to make himself an everlasting name.
13 Il les a conduits à travers l'abîme comme un cheval à travers le désert, et ils n'ont point défailli.
He led them through the deep, as a horse through the wilderness, and they fainted not,
14 Ils étaient là, comme des troupeaux dans les champs. L'Esprit du Seigneur est descendu et les a guidés. C'est ainsi que vous avez conduit votre peuple, pour vous donner un nom glorieux.
and as cattle through a plain: the Spirit came down from the Lord, and guided them: thus you led your people, to make yourself a glorious name.
15 Revenez du ciel, regardez de votre maison sainte et du sein de votre gloire. Où est votre amour et votre force? Où est la plénitude de votre compassion et de vos miséricordes qui nous soutenait?
Turn from heaven, and look from your holy habitation and [from] your glory: where is your zeal and your strength? where is the abundance of your mercy and of your compassions, that you have withholden yourself from us?
16 Vous êtes notre Père; car ni Abraham ni Jacob ne nous ont connus, mais bien vous, Seigneur; sauvez-nous, vous qui êtes notre Père; depuis le commencement votre nom est avec nous.
For you are our Father; for [though] Abraham knew us not, and Israel did not acknowledge us, yet do you, O Lord, our Father, deliver us: your name has been upon us from the beginning.
17 Pourquoi, Seigneur, nous avez-vous égarés loin de votre voie? Pourquoi avez-vous endurci nos cœurs au point que nous n'avons plus eu peur de vous? Revenez pour l'amour de vos serviteurs et des tribus de votre héritage;
Why have you caused us to err, O Lord, from your way? [and] has hardened our hearts, that we should not fear you? Return for your servants' sake, for the sake of the tribes of your inheritance,
18 Afin que nous héritions d'une petite part de votre montagne sainte. Nos adversaires ont foulé vos demeures saintes.
that we may inherit a small part of your holy mountain.
19 Nous sommes redevenus ce que nous étions au commencement, lorsque vous ne régniez pas sur nous, et que votre nom n'était pas encore invoqué pour nous.
We are become as at the beginning, when you did not rule over us, and your name was not called upon us.
