Isaïe 46
1 Bel est tombé, Nabo a été brisé, leurs statues sont comme des bêtes fauves, comme des bêtes de somme; enlevez-les, attachés comme la charge d'un homme de peine.
Bel is bowed downe: Nebo is fallen: their idoles were vpon the beastes, and vpon the cattell: they which did beare you, were laden with a wearie burden.
2 Accablés, affamés, sans force, ils n'ont pu se sauver de la guerre; ils ont été emmenés captifs.
They are bowed downe, and fallen together: for they coulde not rid them of the burden, and their soule is gone into captiuitie.
3 Écoutez-moi, maison de Jacob, et vous tous, restes d'Israël, vous que je porte depuis que vous êtes sortis des entrailles de votre mère, vous que j'instruis depuis votre enfance
Heare ye me, O house of Iaakob, and all that remaine of the house of Israel, which are borne of me from the wombe, and brought vp of me from the birth.
4 Jusqu'à la vieillesse. Je suis, et jusqu'à ce que vous soyez parvenus à l'extrême vieillesse, je suis; je vous porte, c'est moi qui vous ai créés, c'est moi qui vous soutiendrai; je vous porterai et je vous sauverai.
Therefore vnto olde age, I the same, euen I will beare you vntill the hoare heares: I haue made you: I will also beare you, and I will cary you and I will deliuer you.
5 A qui me comparerez-vous? Voyez, imaginez, vous qui vivez dans l'erreur;
To whom will ye make me like or make me equall, or copare me, that I should be like him?
6 Vous qui accumulez de l'or dans un sac et de l'argent dans une balance; et ils en ont pesé une part, ils ont payé un fondeur, puis ils feront une idole, et, s'étant prosternés, ils l'adoreront;
They draw gold out of the bagge and weigh siluer in the balance, and hire a goldsmith to make a god of it, and they bowe downe, and worship it.
7 Ils la porteront sur leurs épaules, et se mettront en marche; et s'ils la placent en son lieu, elle y demeurera et ne pourra en bouger. Et celui qui l'invoquera, elle ne pourra l'entendre ni le préserver du mal.
They beare it vpon the shoulders: they carie him and set him in his place: so doeth he stand, and cannot remoue from his place. Though one crie vnto him, yet can he not answere, nor deliuer him out of his tribulation.
8 Rappelez-vous ces choses, et gémissez; repentez-vous, ô vous qui êtes égarés; convertissez-vous en vos cœurs;
Remember this, and be ashamed: bring it againe to minde, O you transgressers.
9 Et souvenez-vous des premiers âges, des âges d'autrefois; souvenez-vous que je suis Dieu, et qu'il n'en est point, hormis moi;
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none other God, and there is nothing like me,
10 Moi qui annonce les choses de la fin avant qu'elles soient, et déjà elles sont accomplies. Et j'ai dit: Tous mes conseils seront stables, et tout ce que j'ai résolu, je le ferai.
Which declare the last thing from the beginning: and from of olde, the things that were not done, saying, My counsell shall stand, and I will doe whatsoeuer I will.
11 J'ai appelé un prince ailé de l'Orient, et d'une contrée lointaine, pour accomplir les choses que j'ai résolues; je lui ai parlé, je l'ai amené, je l'ai créé et formé, je l'ai conduit, et je l'ai mis dans la bonne voie.
I call a birde from the East, and the man of my counsell from farre: as I haue spoken, so will I bring it to passe: I haue purposed it, and I will doe it.
12 Écoutez-moi, vous dont le cœur est perverti, vous qui vous êtes éloignés de la justice.
Heare me, ye stubburne hearted, that are farre from iustice.
13 Ma justice est proche, et le salut qui viendra de moi ne sera pas différé. J'ai donné dans Sion le salut à Israël pour ma glorification.
I bring neere my iustice: it shall not be farre off, and my saluation shall not tarie: for I wil giue saluation in Zion, and my glory vnto Israel.
