Isaïe 41
1 Faites-moi fête; car les princes ont recouvré leurs forces: qu'ils approchent, qu'ils parlent tous à la fois, et qu'alors ils proclament le jugement.
Iles, be stille to me, and folkis chaunge strengthe; neiye thei, and thanne speke thei; neiye we togidere to doom.
2 Qui donc a suscité de l'Orient la justice? Il lui a dit: Viens à mes pieds; et elle y viendra. Il la fera comparaître devant les nations; il frappera les rois de stupeur. Il fera tomber à terre leurs glaives; il repoussera comme des broussailles leurs arcs et leurs flèches.
Who reiside the iust man fro the eest, and clepide hym to sue hym silf? He schal yyue folkis in his siyt, and he schal welde kyngis; he schal yyue as dust to his swerd, and as stobil `that is rauyschid of the wynd, to his bowe.
3 Et il les poursuivra; et il parcourra en paix la voie de ses pieds.
He schal pursue hem, he schal go in pees; a path schal not appere in hise feet.
4 Qui a opéré, qui a fait ces choses? C'est celui qui a appelé la justice, qui l'a appelée dès le commencement des générations. Je suis Dieu, le premier, et pour tous les siècles à venir je suis.
Who wrouyte and dide these thingis? clepynge generaciouns at the bigynnyng. Y am the Lord; and Y am the firste and the laste.
5 Les nations ont vu, et elles ont eu crainte, et elles sont accourues des extrémités de la terre; et elles sont venues toutes à la fois.
Ilis sien, and dredden; the laste partis of erthe were astonyed; thei camen niy, and neiyiden.
6 Chaque homme, jugeant pour son prochain, et pour secourir son frère, dira:
Ech man schal helpe his neiybore, and schal seie to his brother, Be thou coumfortid.
7 L'artisan a réuni tous ses efforts, ainsi que l'ouvrier qui forge au marteau; et il dira: Voilà une pièce bien jointe; on en a ajusté les parties avec des clous, on va les fixer, et elles ne seront pas ébranlées.

8 Et toi, Israël, toi, Jacob, mon serviteur, toi que j'ai choisi, postérité d'Abraham, mon bien-aimé;
And thou, Israel, my seruaunte, Jacob, whom Y chees, the seed of Abraham, my frend, in whom Y took thee;
9 Toi que j'ai fait revenir des extrémités de la terre; je t'ai convoqué du haut de toutes ses collines, et je t'ai dit: Tu es mon serviteur; je t'ai élu, et je ne t'ai pas abandonné.
fro the laste partis of erthe, and fro the fer partis therof Y clepide thee; and Y seide to thee, Thou art my seruaunt; Y chees thee, and castide not awei thee.
10 Ne crains pas, car je suis avec toi; ne t'égare pas, car je suis ton Dieu; c'est moi qui t'ai fortifié, moi qui t'ai secouru, et t'ai affermi par la justice de ma droite.
Drede thou not, for Y am with thee; boowe thou not awei, for Y am thi God. Y coumfortide thee, and helpide thee; and the riythond of my iust man vp took thee.
11 Voilà que tous tes adversaires vont être humiliés et confondus; car ils seront comme s'ils n'étaient pas, et tous tes ennemis périront.
Lo! alle men schulen be schent, and schulen be aschamed, that fiyten ayens thee; thei schulen be as if thei ben not, and men schulen perische, that ayen seien thee.
12 Tu les chercheras et tu ne trouveras plus ces hommes qui t'insultaient dans l'ivresse; car ils seront comme s'ils n'étaient pas, et ceux qui te faisaient la guerre n'existeront plus.
Thou schalt seke hem, and thou schalt not fynde thi rebel men; thei schulen be, as if thei ben not, and as the wastyng of a man fiytynge ayens thee.
13 Je suis ton Dieu qui t'ai pris par la main droite et qui te dis: Ne crains pas.
For Y am thi Lord God, takynge thin hond, and seiynge to thee, Drede thou not, Y helpide thee.
14 Jacob, Israël, si amoindri que tu sois, c'est moi qui t'ai secouru, dit ton Dieu; c'est moi, ô Israël, qui t'ai racheté.
Nyle thou, worm of Jacob, drede, ye that ben deed of Israel. Y helpide thee, seith the Lord, and thin ayen biere, the hooli of Israel.
15 Voilà que je t'ai façonné comme les roues d'un char à moudre, neuves et dentelées; et tu moudras les montagnes, et tu aplaniras les collines, et tu les réduiras en poudre.
Y haue set thee as a newe wayn threischynge, hauynge sawynge bilis; thou schalt threische mounteyns, and schalt make smal, and thou schalt sette litle hillis as dust.
16 Et tu les vanneras, et le vent les emportera, et un tourbillon les dispersera. Cependant tu te réjouiras dans les saints d'Israël.
Thou schalt wyndewe hem, and the wynd schal take hem awei, and a whirlewynd schal scatere hem; and thou schalt make ful out ioie in the Lord, and thou schalt be glad in the hooli of Israel.
17 Et les pauvres et les indigents tressailliront d'allégresse; car ils auront cherché de l'eau, et il n'y en avait pas; et leur langue était desséchée par la soif. Mais moi, le Seigneur Dieu, moi le Dieu d'Israël, je les entendrai et je ne les abandonnerai pas.
Nedi men and pore seken watris, and tho ben not; the tunge of hem driede for thirst. Y the Lord schal here hem, I God of Israel schal not forsake hem.
18 Je ferai jaillir des fleuves sur les monts, et des sources dans la plaine; je changerai le désert en étangs, et la terre altérée en eaux courantes.
Y schal opene floodis in hiy hillis, and wellis in the myddis of feeldis; Y schal sette the desert in to poondis of watris, and the lond without weie in to ryuers of watris.
19 Dans la terre sans eau je placerai le cèdre, le buis, le myrte, le cyprès et le peuplier:
Y schal yyue in wildirnesse a cedre, and a thorn, and a myrte tre, and the tre of an olyue; Y schal sette in the desert a fir tre, an elm, and a box tre togidere.
20 Afin que partout on voie, on sache, on comprenne, on sente à la fois que la main du Seigneur a fait ces choses, et que le Saint d'Israël les a montrées.
That thei se, and knowe, and bithenke, and vndurstonde togidere; that the hond of the Lord dide this thing, and the hooli of Israel made that of nouyt.
21 Votre jugement est proche, dit le Seigneur Dieu, et proches sont vos conseils, dit le Roi de Jacob.
Make ye niy youre doom, seith the Lord; brynge ye, if in hap ye han ony thing, seith the kyng of Jacob.
22 Qu'ils approchent, qu'ils vous annoncent ce qui doit arriver, ou ce qui d'abord a existé; parlez, et nous appliquerons notre pensée à votre parole, et nous saurons ce que sont les choses de la fin, les choses à venir.
Neiy tho, and telle to vs, what euer thingis schulen come; telle ye the formere thingis that weren, and we schulen sette oure herte, and schulen wite; schewe ye to vs the laste thingis of hem, and tho thingis that schulen come.
23 Dites-nous, annoncez-nous les choses de la fin, et nous reconnaîtrons que vous êtes des dieux. Faites le bien, faites le mal, et nous admirerons, et en même temps nous verrons
Telle ye what thingis schulen come in tyme to comynge, and we schulen wite, that ye ben goddis; al so do ye wel, ethir yuele, if ye moun; and speke we, and see we togidere.
24 D'où vous venez et d'où viennent vos œuvres: on vous a tirés de l'abomination de la terre.
Lo! ye ben of nouyt, and youre werk is of that that is not; he that chees you, is abhomynacioun.
25 Mais moi j'ai suscité celui qui vient de l'Aquilon et celui qui vient de l'Orient; ils seront appelés en mon nom. Que viennent les princes, et vous serez foulés aux pieds, comme l'argile du potier; ils vous fouleront comme le potier foule l'argile.
I reiside fro the north, and he schal come fro the risyng of the sunne; he schal clepe my name. And he schal brynge magistratis as cley, and as a pottere defoulynge erthe.
26 Qui donc, en effet, publiera les choses du commencement, afin que nous sachions ce qui précédemment a existé? Alors nous dirons: Cela est véritable. Mais il n'est personne qui prédise, ni qui écoute vos discours.
Who tolde fro the bigynnyng, that we wite, and fro the bigynnyng, that we seie, Thou art iust? noon is tellynge, nether biforseiynge, nether herynge youre wordis.
27 Je donnerai la principauté à Sion, et dans la voie je consolerai Jérusalem.
The firste schal seie to Sion, Lo! Y am present; and Y schal yyue a gospellere to Jerusalem.
28 Car nul des Gentils, nulle des idoles ne peut rien apprendre; et si je leur demande: D'où venez-vous? nul ne pourra répondre.
And Y siy, and noon was of these, that token councel, and he that was axid, answeride a word.
29 Ce sont ceux qui vous fabriquent qui induisent les hommes en erreur.
Lo! alle men ben vniust, and her werkis ben wynd and veyn; the symylacris of hem ben wynd, and voide thing.
